Super 8 by Wyndham West Kelowna BC

Very friendly staff and great rooms. Staff were very accommodating to having pets in the rooms. We visited some beaches and wineries on the west side on escooters and found the location to be super convenient. Breakfast included with hot waffles, fruits, cereal, baked goods, coffee and juices. The city had issued a drink advisory for the tap water and there was filtered water available in the lobby for use. Pool was great, perfect for a quick dip before bed, not too deep and not too cold, great for relaxing and hanging out. Loved our stay and had a great time.

Great stay for one night. Clean and great location. A bedside table would have been a nice addition to the one side of bed where it was missing. But everything else was great!

We booked our room prior to Reviews about this being used for low income housing with a safe injection site adjacent to the parking lot. We found this is indeed the case and sadly not disclosed upon booking or anywhere on site. That being said, the lobby was clean, the premise was quiet and the room, though worn and outdated, was sufficient for a night's sleep. Unfortunately Will not return and if we were traveling with children would not have stayed.

The hotel itself seemed fine, the staff were friendly enough and the room was clean. Half the hotel seems to be a homeless shelter and there is a safe injection site off the side of the parking lot, so if you don't want to share a location with that then look elsewhere. We didn't have any issues while we were there but likely would have gone elsewhere had we known before hand.

Reception was rude booked pet friendly room online when I checked in told me I had not booked a pet friendly room. I will never stay at a super 8

Young man Josh working at front desk is exceptionally kind and respectful I have stayed in this hotel numerous times and I've always been treated very well today was an exception because I leave so early in the morning because I am a log hauler he opened up the breakfast kitchen early for me so I can have a little bit of breakfast before I went to work I was very impressed with that the service and the rooms are exceptional I am very impressed thank you guys for your great service keep up the good work. This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I was unaware Kelowna had a ghetto. Housekeeping staff don’t do their job. Cleanliness is apparently not the highest priority here. I found mold throughout my fridge. There’s no hand soap in the room. My bath tub looked to be previously used. This place is absolutely disgusting. Do yourself a favour and stay clear of this dump.

The worst stay I have ever had. Poorly run, room was not up to standard cleanliness, and there was a big difference in rates from Saturday to Sunday. It is also in the middle of a hot parking lot, exposed with no trees, and homeless people appearing to be getting high.

Breakfast was poor, no pancake mix, super messy. Rooms where clean ruff on some places but over all good.
Need to pay for rooms up front, told me it was standard, which it is not. Poor service at front desk.

Stopped here for the night with my small family, was greeted by a very beautiful lobby and courteous clerk who was very professional and kind. We requested for a ground level floor due to the fact I'm pregnant and had a small baby with us, they only had a King bed available but it was worth the extra cost of not having to struggle up the stairs with luggage and baby. Upon entering the room I was pleased to be greeted by a large, clean room with a kitchenette. Had to ask for extra pillows since they only had small square pillows on the bed, which was incredibly comfortable, it didn't take very long for everyone to fall asleep.
Breakfast is served up stairs, which can pose as an issue to those who are incapable of using stairs because there is no elevator, but overall breakfast was pretty decent, there was a choice of waffles, hard boiled eggs, muffins, 3 types of cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, tea and coffee. Judging by how friendly the staff was they might have been kind enough to accommodate those who are wheelchair bound so they could also enjoy breakfast. I'm giving 5 stars due to how clean our room was and how pleasant of an experience my family had while staying here. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a affordable place to stay the night.

My stay was very pleasant. I thought I had lost my wallet and the young man that works here, Josh, took the time to help me find it and put up with my raving. Don't lose him as an employee!

Hard to access from highway 97. Dirty, worn out carpet. Outdated all around. Night/evening staff rude, unfriendly and unattentive.

Do not recommend, only consider if no other options. Giving it two star because of the location, but even that is hard to justify. Cleanliness doesn't appear to be a priority, found someone else's underwear in the washroom. Also, there are luggage carts, but you have to stop at the base of the stairs and throw suitcases up the stairs one by one as there is no elevator. Breakfast is served on the second floor so it is inaccessible for folks who can't use the stairs.

They tried to illegally force them selves into my room with a key while concieling his identity. I even had a do not disturbe sign out. They have very poor hospitality. And treat there paying guests like prisoners. Why do I want to pay 160$ +400$ deposit to feel like im in jail while the staff act like prisoners wardens. They ruined my mothers 61st birthday. She has been the rock in the family doing everything to keep the family taken care of. This was supposed to be a treat for her. And they made her experience stressful and triggered her anxiety. They need to better train there staff on proper motel edicat and customer service. I travel regularly for my profession and stay at many motels. This was by far the most inhumane degrading service I've ever received in a motel.

I want to share my experience at the Super 8 motel on the Westside wich I am overwhelmed by their service and very reasonable priced amenities. The room was very clean and well equipped.but the best part was most definitely the staff. The manager (hope I get this right lol) Sachin, was all attentive to my needs (I'm partly disable). He even carried some of my luggage and groceries to the second floor with the security guard and I think that was a plus on the staff to do that. Talk about service and the front desk staff, wich includes Victoria, Summers and the nice gentleman on the night shift. Hotel service is one thing.but how they made me feel was very very special.like being treated like a special customer. I have traveled in lots of hotel and I can assure you that the Super 8 motel on kelowna's Westside is the best service from their staff I have experienced in a long time. Thank you so much for making me feel like a very special individual (and for the perks you provided me) I highly recommend them and keep on doing a great job.you surely have my bussiness from now on.yours truly. Front desk lady was very rude. We have 2 small chihuahua’s and she wanted us to lock them in the bathroom so she could fix the TV. I told her don’t lock our dogs in bathrooms. Very snotty woman

Lady at front seat charged me $300 D. D, then I spent all night trying to get the room warm. Like a ice box!

The Super 8 is a fairly nice hotel or motel if you're looking for a cheaper place to stay for a night or two. The staff is very nice and efficient and do their jobs well. Its located in a very nice spot with bus stop right outside so you can get around town if you don't have a vehicle. All in all it's a pretty decent place to stay and you get your money worth.

Ok. The hotel isn't great, the rooms are ok, clean, but the staff are really friendly and they go above and beyond.

The bed was 4 ft off the floor. I am elderly and have problems with my left leg. Could not get on the bed. Went to the front counter. The attendant offered me a step stool. Not at all clean but I could keep my socks on and get up on the bed versus sleeping on the floor. The room above us was beyond noisy until 3: 00 am when a large truck started up outside and drowned out the noise from upstairs. We got no sleep. And no sympathy from staff. Cancelled our next reservation. Won't be back

Horrible place to stay. I was there for a month and I got no incentive. I spent more than 4500 and they accused me of a missed deposit. Which the night front desk worker stole. I swear to god.
Homeless people and drugs and police always near by. Always. Which made me extremely uncomfortable.
The front desk manager Victoria was very rude and unprofessional.

Very nice place, as well very nice stuff. Also a friendly place for people with disabilities, the staff are very nice because they give me a discount, I will definitely stay here again…

I think I would have preferred reserving a motel instead of this hotel but it suited us well. Its a bit of a run down hotel. I don't think the pandemic helped this business.

They gave us biscuits and a juice for the breakfast and said the breakfast is unavailable “due to covid”! The pools were also close although we were charged the full amount for the room!

Service was definitely not up to my expectation. The receptionists were not very friendly or helpful.
The room was okay, fairly clean and the bed was comfortable.
Please make your service better.otherwise, I don't recommend this place.

Not that great been here 3 days no room service at all blame it on covid surely over flowing garbage cans and not cleaning the room is not helping at all the room rates they charged service should be a lot better

We were only staying one night and driving home the next day so I didn't care that there weren't any face cloths or large bath towels. I just washed with hand towels. Was woken up at 3: 30am by the guy working the front desk because he needed to check if our room was really occupied! My husband went down to speak to him and make sure not a crank call and yeah, it was him and he felt justified! He had to do that Check! Checked out the next day, we were exhausted and all we got was "oh, so sorry that happened. " Won't stay here again!

BEWARE. Do NOT stay here unless you don’t care about your health and safety, or you prefer to be treated rudely by hotel staff. Please take the time to read this review and others before you book here.

First and foremost, we found out after arriving that this hotel is also partly a homeless shelter/safe injection place, and this is extremely apparent as soon as you pull into the parking lot based on the people that come and go from the lobby/hang out in the parking lot.
If you stay here I would suggest locking all belongings in your car or safety deposit box.

My friends and I arrived in West Kelowna for a girls trip and when we got to our room, there was a faint smell of urine. We had just driven 8 hours so we ignored it, dropped our bags right away, and went to the beach. When we came back to the room, we noticed the smell was coming from one of the beds specifically. When I bent down to smell it, it was very strong. We lifted the mattress pad and there was a huge yellow stain. Disgusted, we packed up our bags and went to the lobby to see what could be done. The man working at the desk did not apologize, only said “the other rooms are all booked, but I guess we can give you the one next to you and just figure it out later”. Extremely off-putting. So we took the new room, but after about half an hour decided we were uncomfortable staying at all due to the fact that we didn’t know what the standards were for cleaning, especially during a pandemic.

We packed up and went down to the desk to tell the man at the desk that we just wanted a refund and that we were going to find somewhere else to stay. We approached the situation simply wanting our money back and no other compensation, and began the conversation with patience. The man at the desk was extremely hostile, and rolled his eyes at us. He told us we were lying about the first bed, that there was no smell or stain, and that he “checked it out himself”. We were told we would not be receiving a refund for the first night as we “waited too long” to say something. He said we were up in the room for 5 hours, when in actuality, we had only been in Kelowna only about 3 total, and in the hotel room (s) for maximum 1 hour while we discussed our options. We still have not received an apology, a refund, or any compensation for this traumatic experience. We have pictures and videos to prove all of this.

This is extremely disappointing and disturbing the lack of customer service or proper cleaning done in this hotel, especially during a pandemic. We will continue to battle our way up to upper management, and expect to be compensated accordingly.

If I could give it a 0, I would. Hotel staff refused to refund me for a room they gave me that had literal urine on the bed and a wet patch of carpet. Didn’t even stay the night because of the lack of cleanliness and was still charged for the first night. Staff was not helpful and was actually quite rude, calling me a liar to my face and also to corporate when they tried to resolve the issue. Steer clear at all costs, it’s not worth the hassle

Had an amazing stay! Travelling with family. The hotel is located close to downtown which is a definite plus! The hotel is in good shape, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Asked for things to do and directions and the front desk printed everything off within minutes.

I live in Vernon BC, and was visiting West Kelowna for a Warriors hockey game. Decided to stay the night, at the Super 8. Its definitely the best value for the price in all of West Kelowna, Check in was easy fast, and efficient. Great hotel! Sad the warriors lost though: (

We have been doing business with the Super 8 Motels in West Kelowna and Kelowna for years! My father stayed here and so did my mother. I have found the front desk clerks to be friendly and accessible to laundry soap and other amenities when all the stores in West Kelowna close ridiculously early. I have also had several dinners at the Chinese restaurant and the restaurant before that, as well. As far as homeless people are concerned, what to do? The whole parking lot is supervised, 24/7, so it's just as safe as any other hotel. Sounds to me like some local neighbours have a bee up their *ss about homeless people, even if they are doing no harm, whatsoever! It reeks of a human rights discrimination, actually.

Please note - this hotel has leased out suites to the homeless, with a wet tent (injection site) in the parking lot. This neighbourhood is adjacent to daycares and schools. No supervision, robberies are up as is total disregard for neighborhood safety.

Part of this motel has turned into a half way house. I’ve personally seen drug use in the parking lot. Just beware of your surroundings if you are booking here in the near future.

Reserved our room online threw a third party booking site for 77$. At the time of booking it didn't ask us how many people would be staying in the room when we got our confirmation email it stated 2adults only. So we called the website immediately to explain the error that there would be 2 adults and 2 kids and they said they would call hotel to make sure that was ok. Super 8 told them it would be an extra 70 dollars per child to stay. This seemed torally bizarre to me to charge so much for 2 kids in a 2bed suite. I was upset and explained to them that it never asked us for number of occupants on the website we used and super 8 agreed to wave the "extra" fees. Great problem solved or so we thought. Arrived at the hotel a few hrs later to get our room keys after a long day at a family members funeral with 2 sleeping kids in the truck for the rude front desk lady to tell us that we would have to pay an extra 70 per child to stay in the room that the prior agreement made was not valid and that we would also have to pay an extra 300 dollar deposit before should would give us our room keys. As im standing there i pull up there website and imput 2 adults 2 kids into the search setting and low and behold the 77dollars we were charged for 2 adults is the same price when i added 2 kids to the listing. I don't know where they are coming up with this extra 70 dollars per kid sounds like a scam to put some extra cash on her own pocket.
Never in my life have I had such high deposit fees for a room. To be honest I've never had to pay upfront they have only ever taken my card number down on file in case of any damages to the room. Needless to say I will never stay here or at another super 8 again and will never recommend them to anyone I know.

Had my pants stolen out of my room while I was sleeping. Hours later a housekeeper came to our room, let herself in and seemed very surprised to find us inside. She said she came to bring fresh towels but forgot the towels and we still have no big towels 10 hours later.
On a different note check in was awesome

Staff were very unfriendly right from the start. Tv remote wasn't working, hot tub was broken & every day I had to get my room card re programmed. 5 day stay, never again

One of the cheaper hotels around. Clean rooms. The breakfast is basic with cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit. They have a waffle maker but only for the weekends. The gym has a decent weight machine. The treadmill is unusable though.

Good place to stay. Off Season pricing needs review. Fair pricing for short stays. Almost twice the price of competition for monthly rates. Otherwise we'll kept and has great amenities.

Great place to stay. The rooms are clean, the facilities are well maintained. The front desk lady, the African-American with that sweet accent! Sweet Lord, made the experience unforgettable for me and my family. 5 stars!

The room was fine, the building was fine with the exception of the elevator not working and has not functioned for over one year. My problem with this hotel was with the front desk staff and the hotels business services. Some one had changed the keyboard settings to French and not only did the staff member not know how to change it back to English, she did not try or even care to try to assist me in making the computer operational to me. Further, the printer did not work, the stagg member was aware of this but did not put a sign on the printer or make it easy/convenient for me to print a document. The only reason I did not give this hotel a lower rating is that when I brought my concerns to the day staff, they apologized on behalf of the hotel and provided a discount on my room. Will I go back here, I am not sure.

Price was very good for a long weekend, bed was comfy, but Bathtub was dirty with yellow liquid in it.
When we checked in another guest was waiting in line behind us and, said there was no towels in there room, when we got to our room there also was no towels.

The power in our bathroom went out after 5 min of use, no fan, no lights.

No handicap access to the upstairs or for breakfast.
Breakfast is a little minimal toast, cereal (2 choices of cereal), yogurt, apples, granola, muffin and orange juice.

The view out our window or all of the back windows it seems is of 20’ feet of lawn covered in smashed up old wood cabinets, scattered all over the place.

Please do not stay at this hotel!

we went in an hour after checking out as i left my perfume in the room. I knew exactly where i left it, the front desk staff said the cleaner did not see it.

I went in the room myself the room they said was cleaned i picked up the cover it should have been under and it was not.yet a Tag i took off my top was still under the cover, gross to know they didn't remake the second bed and just flattened out the sheets as this was between the sheets.usually you would hope a hotel would keep ur belongings for at least the day you check out and then keep it to themselves.its a problem my perfume was stolen by a cleaning staff its the fact that what do they do when you are not in ur room and need day to day cleaning, do they sneakily steal other belongings sometimes people come for events and need expensive items, this hotel has no safe we can keep it in our rooms in.i really hoped someone returned the perfume, but i am not surprised.i am really disappointed that the same day within 2 hours the cleaners said they never saw it.

Came in the morning front desk yuvraj was really nice and said we can come in by 3 for check in we came in at 2: 48 and the lady Victoria at the front desk said to wait 15 mins. She was so rude with her service when all she had to do was ask us to wait. I really dont think 11 mins make a difference, she had no hospitality for front desk staff. Yet someone came in right after us and she helped them. 3pm was check in and we never got our room exactly at 3 even.
