Surf Grove Campground

Loved this campground. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Awesome location with private beach access, sites have trees and brush between them offering some privacy, and first rate services both at the sites and in the buildings. They also take care to keep them all perfectly clean and maintained. I will stay here again the next time I visit Tofino.

I don't surf. I rented one there RV's for 4 nights. It was awesome. Like an apartment in the woods, with a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach.

I had an amazing time camping here with friends! Staying in Tofino can be very expensive but split between the group Surf Grove makes trips like this affordable. The location is amazing and the amenities set it above the rest, having a warm shower after surfing is great. Plus you can rent surf gear right there! I’ll definitely be back.

A 2 min walk to enjoy the beautiful Cox Bay beach. Very clean campground with a lovely off-grid cafe, surf rentals and sauna. Perfect location and good vibes! We’ve come three times in March, October and November and absolutely love it despite poor weather.

Overpriced, overpriced, overpriced. I don’t know why surf grove feels that they can charge this much for camping. We’ve been customers multiple times a year since before they even officially opened/had all amenities in place: to me, this year feels exceptionally greedy. Prices hiked so much you could to stay at pacific sands!

With all due respect to your reply, yes I’m sure in mid January I could pitch a tent at one of your small, in the back sites for $49… but with a trailer in the summer we paid more than 615$ for 3 nights… this is purely absurd and honestly, I find it very sad. We are islanders, this is one of our favourite beaches but really, over 600$ for camp for three nights (especially when we don’t need toilets or showers etc) is ridiculous. All the best

Everything is clean and not outdated. Close to the beach. Really liked the hot (and free) outdoor showers!
For a late check-in it was possible to just book online and drive to the reserved spot, that was really helpful!

What a wonderful camp ground! We stayed in 103 and you could just walk down to the beach to surf! So cool! The bathrooms and showers were wonderful and so was the cleanliness of the camp ground! We will definitely be returning to surf grove!

Nice campground, clean and well laid out. Not happy about being charged a reservation fee when we did not have a reservation and drove in to register. Destroyed our confidence that the campground would be ethical when it came to finances and extra charges.

Trailer site was spacious, clean (raked!), utilities were new and fully operational. Fire pit and picnic table were in good condition, although we didn't use them. We found the online and printed do's and don't, terms and conditions, policies, regulations, etc.to be overbearing to the point we couldn't be bothered to read them all. On the assumption these criteria are well-intended and not unreasonable, I would have been happy to click the "I agree" box and move on.
A good place to stay on a fantastic beach. Will certainly return.

Just got back from a 4 day trip to Tofino. Second time staying at Surf Grove and it has only gotten better! We love the clean and providing campground! It's close to the beach (which is beautiful!) and they provide all you could need to stay super comfortably, even in a tent!

Best Campground in Tofino! Don't miss this one. Full hookups available and all the amenities you could want to make your camping luxurious! Steps from Cox Bay and about 10 min.drive to Tofino town center. Staff was absolutely lovely, eager to help and provide great service. Sites were super clean and wonderfully quite at night. My wife and I stayed 11 nights and will be back as soon as we can.

We stayed in the new A frame cabin, which was perfect for the rainy October weather. The bed was super comfy and the heater kept the cabin warm all the time.

Best campsite I’ve ever stayed at! Amazing amenities (full service showers, dish washing stations, laundry, surf rentals, etc.), steps from the beach, extremely well kept sites and such nice people working! If you’re looking to camp in Tofino this is the place to be!

Great campground! Each spot feels very special and hidden in a way.they rake and clear the leaves before you get there, not that its that important but its that little extra they do there.if you surf then wow this is a place to go.i was out every day to play, get the wet suit on and grab the board.if you bring bikes the trails are fun and safe to ride from there to Tofino or a lot of other beach locations also.
I already want to go back.

Is it expensive for a campground? Yes. Is it worth it? Also, yes. Campground & facilities are kept pristine. My 3rd visit and it won’t be my last. Location is everything and this one is pure magic.

Lovely campsite just steps from the beach. It was such an incredible experience sitting on the beach watching the surfers as the sun went down.

Best campsite! Super helpful and friendly customer service. The new little store is amazing! This place is clean, great for families and close to the beach. Plus they have hot showers included! Can't say enough good things about this place.

This is a great campground right at the beach. It's a new place so all the facilities are top notch, pretty sure the owners are striving for the best campground there is. Lots of sites, plenty of showers, outside surf showers to get the sand off - with nice hot water on demand which makes a world of difference! There are regular showers in the few out buildings, good washroom facilities also. Nothing bad to say about the facilities. They just opened the main building where you check in, it's also very well planned and super nice! There might even be laundry facility in there. Stayed in the on-site RV rentals this time, really convenient, no need to haul an RV from the mainland which with the ferry cost and incredible gas costs totally makes sense to rent one.
At first I thought that the campground prices were a bit steep but tried camping other places in the area, prices are comparable and the bonus is surf grove is well stocked and right at Cox Bay. The employees are all very nice, give you their attention and try to make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Nicest campground I've ever been to. $$$ perhaps, but so worth it. Hope the sun shines for you. If not, hot showers!

2nd visit and it has become our new end of summer tradition. Right on the beach, I believe the only campground in Tofino that's on a surfing beach. Good facilities for tenting (washrooms, showers, & dishwashing sinks).

Pacific Surf Co has onsite rentals with lots of kids wetsuits. Saves a drive elsewhere as pricing same everywhere.

Only complaint would be smoking is not restricted/prohibited in their policies. Last trip the neighbours couldn't seem to function without something burning hanging out of the mouths.

This place is AMAZING. Their facilities are brand new, and they were ALWAYS clean! The staff was always helpful and happy, and the location can't be beat! 1000/10 would recommend for your stay in Tofino

Honestly the best campsite I've ever stayed at. I spent 11 days there while learning how to surf. The hot tub was very appreciated after surfing all day and the staff were awesome!

Had a fantastic time here in 1 of the rental RVs! There is everything you need and it was very clean. You can hear the pounding surf at night and the beach is only a short walk away. Surfers paradise and a photographers dream! Will definitely be back!

I stayed at SGC for three nights in September in my van with two dogs. It was amazing and well worth the cost of camping. People were super friendly - both other campers as well as staff - and the campground is spotless and very well maintained. Being able to walk to the surf was perfect, and much better than another place I camped at in the area. I really want to emphasize how nice everyone was; friendly, happy vibes and very welcoming to all kinds of beach goers. Bonus tip - Surfside Grill is a short walk down the beach and has one of the best fish and chips I've ever eaten.

We spent 2 nights there.not happy with the service. WIFI keep got disconnected on the area that was our tent while some other parts of camping had better WIFI connection.our camp area had only 2 shared (Men and Women) bathroom for so many people which one of those was out of order for a night.
Garbage cans was full so we couldn’t put the garbage inside the cans.

Great camp site! Great location! Nice and clean washrooms well equipped with hot water, toilet and mirror! There are also large sinks located outside of each washrooms. Plenty of shower rooms. Beautiful Cox bay! Would come again!

We arrived at 11: 45pm and were left a package at check in due to it being after hours. The map was easy to follow and we set up our tents as quietly as possible. Washrooms are so clean and well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our favorite was our surf instructor Seth who made the private lesson so fun and enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

A great camp spot with welcoming and friendly staff! The bathrooms and facilities were modern and clean. They were in the middle of construction so the main building wasn’t fully finished. It looks like it will be a great space once it’s all finished.

Awesome campsite. Expensive but worth every cent. We had a great time in July. What we were missing was maybe a playground for the kids but they were happy just spend the whole day at the beach. Definitely gonna be back next year and maybe even for storm watching season.

Perfect location to enjoy nature and incredible beach, facilities and camp sites are excellent!
