The Ladies here are incredibly helpful and friendly. They even gave good honest info for other surf shops and what they offer. Great advice, equipment knowledge and customer service. Will definitely be back!

I did a private lesson for two, and couldn’t recommend this more! Jackie was so patient, and did a great job catering to the difference in skill level with myself and my friend.

I’ve been surfing in Tofino a handful of times, and wanted to learn to catch green waves. My friend hadn’t been surfing in years, and even then had only done it once before. So the difference in experience and what we wanted in a lesson was pretty stark. Despite this, Jackie was patient and thorough explaining proper technique and the way the waves worked at Cox Bay. I was especially impressed with the 3D models she drew in the sand, explaining the anatomy of a wave.

The check in process, and information available beforehand was all great. Overall, I’d recommend this to anyone. Whether you’re a newbie looking to get your feet wet, or more intermediate looking to sharpen your skills, they’ll have you covered at Surf Sister.

Group surf lesson was a fun experience. Great land instruction and lots of time to try the waves. Only feedback would be more instruction while in the water and have more opportunities for photos. We were only allowed a photo at the end with the bus and had to ask, felt rushed as it was when we had to pack up. Would have been nice to have some opportunities for photos/vidoes while out surfing. Just some things to note to improve. Overall our experience was great nonetheless and good for the price we paid.

Totally worth it and would recommend! Had so much fun and the instructors were really helpful.

Had a wonderful time with surf sisters. The lessons lasted quite long and our instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. The water is cold but the wetsuits keep you warm. I highly recommend giving it a try it is not that difficult to begin and is a lot of fun. My only complaint is it would be nice if they also provided wetsuit gloves to keep your hands warmer

I had a great lesson with Lander a couple weeks ago! He was very patient and gave me some great tips to improve my surfing. I felt comfortable with his knowledge and really enjoyed the lesson!

Would highly recommend this school over any others in the area. They were reliable and even fit us in last minute to their afternoon lesson after another school canceled on us. They also provide rental discounts if you’ve taken a lesson with them. Highly recommend.

Lizzie was an excellent instructor! Made you feel safe and she made you feel like a star if you managed to stay upright! Had lots of fun and was amazed how warm a wetsuit could be. Thanks Lizzie.

The Surf Sister family is truly awesome! I had a fabulous lesson with Jasmine and great interactions with the whole team who are so incredibly helpful and nice. Great care was taken to not only teach surfing basics and provide coaching in the water, but they also explained basics of tides, waves and ocean safety which is super important and can be applied around the world. Unreal and detailed lessons and feedback, I could see soo much progress by the end of the lesson!

The highlight of the school year so far has been our time on the beach and in the water with the Surf Sister crew. Their office staff made large school group booking easy and their instructors related so well to our grade 10 students. They were professional, caring and made safety and enjoyment the priority of each lesson.

I had two group sessions with surf sisters. Both were really fun and I got some very helpful Tipps! Price was fair for the length and the input of the sessions. Good focus on safety and understanding the waves.

We had a private lesson with True today and it was the best thing we have done all year! We brought our 7 year old daughter and True gave her the confidence to keep trying. Despite (or because of) the rain, it was an incredible experience and I highly recommend Surf Sisters! Also, their store has some great clothing and fun items to check out. Wish I could give a 10!

Obviously there’s lots of places to take lessons in tofino but if you’re debating on which one to pick definitely pick surf sisters! I had a lesson with Sarah and she was so up beat and positive the entire time and so knowledgeable and also just a super genuine down to earth gal! Definitely the best experience!

After many positive recomendations from friends and family my daughter and I choose Surf Sisters for our first surfing experience. I knew very quickly that we made the right choice shortly after meeting True! True showed up on time with a huge friendly smile on her face and was super talkative creating a relaxed atmosphere for us. This carried into our lesson, knowlegable, full of encouragment, positivity and professionalism- a natural born teacher!

My Wife booked us a lesson with Surf Sisters at the Pacific Sands Beach Resort. Our Instructor True was wonderful. We had never surfed before and I was able to stand up and catch 3 waves during my lesson. I was beyond thrilled. I would highly recommend Surf Sisters Surf Lessons to anyone. 5 star lesson with a 5 star instructor.

I did a group day 1 group lesson with True and it was awesome! She spent time on the beach and went over all that we needed to know and then continue providing tips while we were out on the water. Great energy and professional.best intro to surfing experience!

Surf Sister is an amazing place to have your lessons! Run by all women, all of the girls we interacted with were SO lovely. Our instructors were so kind and helpful, and super supportive, cheering us on for our smallest improvements. Such an incredible experience, highly highly recommend booking your lessons through them!

My friend and I took a lesson from Surf Sister. We had Jazz and June as our instructors. Both of them were awesome and did such a great job teaching us. I have had 2 lessons now with Surf Sister and both were amazing! We had Lindsay and Sarah as our instructors and both were very knowledgeable and hands on. They are so personable and funny. Sarah was very good at giving tips on how to improve and they both celebrated your little victories. When in the shop the other instructors were so friendly and genuinely cared about how your lessons went. Highly recommend them for anyone wanting to learn to surf! An experience I will never forget!

My husband and I had such a blast with Jess from Surf Sister! It’s a must for anyone visiting Tofino. Don’t let age or ability stop you - Jess was an excellent instructor and we both felt very comfortable and safe the whole time.

We had two private lessons back to back and highly recommend it. We took lessons in Hawaii before but the knowledge and level of instructions of the Surf Sisters is far superior and allowed us to progress a lot faster. We had so much fun with both Sarah and Emily that we will definitely come back for more.

We had a wonderful experience surfing the cold Pacific waters at Cox beach, Tofino. Emily was our instructor at Surf Sister and she was amazing. She was thorough, confident and super friendly. My 2 kids, 12 & 9 yrs were able to surf 1st time with her instruction - Thank you!

Great experience - Kate was a very patient & knowledgeable coach. Surf sister was accomodating when I got delayed by the highway closure which I appreciated.

I really enjoyed the surfing and the lesson! The instructors were fun and energetic. Only downside for me was the class size. I’d go for the smaller group size. It kinda felt like no matter how hard they tried we would get bunched up and it was crowded in the water. There was only two for a decent sized group so hard to give everyone attention. If you have the money you should go for a 1: 1 or private session. When I come back to tofino I will be doing that for sure. Will also be rebooking with this company. Great experience!
(Getting into a wet suit was legit horrible though no fault of them. They made fun with it though on one of the post cards I saw in the shop. Check it out if you get a chance and size up if you can!

We had such an incredible experience with Surf Sister. It was our first time surfing and I was so worried about not being able to do anything and being a nuisance for the instructor but she (Alex) was the absolute greatest. She is so sweet and friendly and so encouraging, and reassuring that you’re doing great. Just an all around super warm and welcoming personality. This is absolutely a must-do activity and you get great value with Surf Sister. I cannot recommend this business enough and there’s not enough words to give Alex the praise she deserves!

Great surfing lessons! Skylar taught to what they saw, giving me pointers as we went along (i took a group class, so was happy that they watch each of us). I also went into the shop, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful:)

I recently booked a private lesson for three with Sarah. Sarah's instructions were clear and very helpful. We had tons of fun in the water and it's one of the highlights of our trip. She was so positive and cheerful it really made the whole experience more accessible since some of us had never surfed before. This is my second booking with Surf Sisters and I will definitely book another lesson next time we're in Tofino.

I booked a day 1 surf lesson and was partnered with Sarah.
She is hilarious and has such amazing energy, it felt like hanging out with someone I’ve known for years. She cheered me on the entire time and it started off my trip to tofino on such a positive note.

We had Jess as an instructor, and she was absolutely fantastic. I went with my two teenage boys, and she had them up on their feet on the boards pretty quickly. I spent all of about 2-and-a-half seconds on my feet, but that’s because I’m the most inflexible man in the world. I still had a great time. Jess was an excellent teacher and kept us all engaged the whole time.

Thanks for the lesson in late December! Staff was super nice. It was a fun morning in the rain. We were surprised at how warm we were in the wetsuits.

I think the wetsuit restricted my body movements and the cold ocean must have been slowing my brain signals to my legs. I was a radical disappointment. My partner did quite well. I felt like a weak, tired, winter jellyfish. I’ll probably stick to surfing in the summer months, without the full body wetsuit onesie.

I’d also like to give 5-stars to the hot shower I took afterwards.

This was one of the best experiences in the WHOLE WORLD! I had the most amazing instructor, Vickie. I hope I spelled her name right. I've always been a bit fearful of the ocean but she gave me lots of patience and time to take surfing at my own pace. I felt seen and supported. The instructors definitely know their stuff and I'm super happy we invested in lessons from Surf Sisters! Much love from me and my boyfriend, Seth - excellent company, priceless memories.

Me and my girlfriend attended surf sister surf school for our first ever surfing experience and it was awesome! We had such an incredible first experience with our fantastic coach Vicky (I hope I spelled that right) who was so helpful and so much fun!

All in all, me and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we can't wait to get some more surfing in!

Paid for a three hour lesson with with Joe with two of my friends, only got two hours Decent advice, but short shrift. Too bad, so sad from staff did not help. Would not recommend.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this surf shop.
The ladies in here run a tight ship, everything from classes, schedules, beaches to go group lessons and individuals, and oh so much more all perfectly well orchestrated. Attention to detail, and friendly.
I have surfed in California, Hawaii and Mexico and have taken lessons at all those places, yet it was here in Tofino BC. Where I found the best shop ever!

My instructor took the time to build sand waves to further explain the tides and other things you hear in the surfer lingo, like Onshore/Offshore, Barrel, down the line, shorebreak etc.
My awesome lesson with Tiffany included the board rental, the cozy 4mm wet suit, booties and gloves added if needed as an option, but no extra cost. And a cool sticker.
I plan to return to Tofino to surf with Surf Sisters again and again.
