Overall experience in ER from triage to discharge was excellent with staff attentiveness to patient concerns & needs. However, the staff needed a reminder to have the basic diagnostics reviewed. If this was not done, we could waited for 8-10 hours in a room which could have been allocated to other patients in the cue. ER was clean except the exhaust ventilation in KATZ was not great with musty smell.

Absolutely horrible experience, I had to wait 5+ hours to see a doctor for 2 minutes. For an emergency that shouldn’t take that long to see a doctor! Also, the staff are extremely rude and distasteful. A little compassion goes a long way. If I could give this place less than one star, I totally would.

I wish there is a no star on this! Emergency is the worst it takes forever for you to wait! And you can see the doctor just talking and flirting!

Worst hospital in history I been waiting for 11 hours to be checked. They just keep putting you in different rooms. No doctors see you at all. It’s all just keep waiting. 11 hours and still waiting

The reception staff at the emergency department had extremely poor service. There was an old woman who spoke very poorly. I really don’t know why she was so angry. I couldn’t find where to complain. She was rubbish.

. No wheelchairs found anywhere in the hospital. If I have an emergency or my husband does I will never go here. All staff were doing was ordering their lunch on the phone. No help whatsoever. This hospital needs a makeover of staff!

Disgusting hospital and an absolute lack of professionals, I understand that in Canada medicine is in a deplorable state, but excuse me, as an ordinary person I understand more than a nurse or a doctor, sometimes they take tests, but don’t even wait for the result, they immediately make a diagnosis, the diagnosis is made through 5 minutes, almost everyone has the same diagnosis: “everything seems to be fine. ” I don't really understand why these people practice medicine. It is very sad that medicine in such a developed country is simply deteriorating.even in the CIS countries the situation is much better.

They punish the unvaccinated here and won't give you proper care. You think you're worse off then other people here it's probably because you are.

Disgusting service. I went with my friend in emergency, the didn’t care how much she bleed they just gave a bandage to apply on. We are not even able to visit doctor. Emergency check representative are super rude and just ask questions for hours and do nothing. Why they don’t meaning of emergency. They can fill their form afterwards. School should teach them the meaning of emergency.

Excellent experience specially with De Ram Persaud and the staff. He listenes your problem, Answers your questions and give you all the updates. I am from States visiting my dad. Thanks for your service Dr. Persaud. Appreciate your help.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. Their emergency unit is of no use, literally. We had to wait for 8 hours last night in the emergency unit. And the nurses were so rude every time you asked for a doctor they just got mad and said it wasn’t their job to know when the doctor will show up. My friend was shaking with fever and no one even looked at her until after 8 hours. We went to the hospital at 11pm and were looked at by a doctor at 6am. This is the worst hospital I have been to in my life

I drove my mother to SMH on Easter Sat. She had complained of blurry vision in her left eye. She had a headache on Palm Sunday and the following day too. She was admitted to SMH but we had to wait around a long time for a CT Scan and a preliminary blood test. The CT Scan was negative for a stroke.but I had to lift her from the passenger seat of my car onto a wheelchair and vice versa when leaving SHM 7 hours later. Because I had to lift mom, I am still wondering why she was discharged from the hospital. Mom's oxygen deprivation was noticed on her CT Scan. Dr. Tu in Emergency should have examined her symptoms the old-fashioned way - ie.arms up.if 1 comes down it is a stroke, etc, etc. He did put her on a super aspirin. It took 2 days longer for them to notice it.

Horrifically understaffed, the staff that are there are overworked to the point they have issues socializing professionally while on shift. More money from our already high taxes needs to get into this hospital.

On February 11th, at 11: 00pm I went to Neurology to visit my god father who had a major stroke. I went to the front desk and the attendant was a Filipina nurse, Daisy. I didn’t know exactly how to spell his last name and I was guessing different ways to spell it. She proceeded to laugh at me with her Filipina coworker. NEVER in my life have I ever experienced such a degree of unprofessionalism and a lack empathy coming from a nurse. As a Filipino health care professional myself, you should be ashamed to call yourself a nurse! My uncle will never be the same again and you really though it’s appropriate to laugh at someone who is grieving? You are a medical professional, Daisy. Not a high school student. This review will not be lower as I appreciate the other nurses providing for my God Father.

I can not express how thankful I am for the kindness care and patience of the doctors and nurses at this hospital. My son came in with a life threatening staph infection and the attentiveness and real human care was beyond anything I could expect. I'm very grateful and thankful and will never forget how incredible the team is at surrey memorial hospital.

Worst ever… Long time wait. I don’t understand. We are already waiting for 5 hours still no sign from anyone if someone will check us.

I had worst experience with this hospital.l went to this hospital couple times with my family members and never seen doctor before waiting for 6-7 hours

Giving one star as there is no option of zero or negative stars. Last night worst experience in this hospital. I met with an accident on Jan 19 and was taken to this hospital for scans and further diagnosis at 8.30 PM. After that the longest wait in my life started. The xray was done at 1 AM and the doctor came to see me at 6 AM. On top of that the Nursing staff was as rude as anyone could be. Anybody teling you that Canada has best health care is telling a white lie. The truth is the clinics in Indian villages is much more competent then this so called hospital. I can proudly say now that I am an Indian and proud to be one. Its good that I am here only on WP and not on PR cause that would have been a disastrous decision of my life.

They are the people that save my baby and thank you to the fire department of Langley.

I been to Surrey memorial hospital many times. Most of the time I got the proper care and treatment. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses and other staff.

I recently had a heart attack and spent 5 days in hospital. The care was superb, the cardiac ward was very clean and the nurses and doctors were extremely attentive. I wish to thank them all for saving my life. ️

We were came to check up regarding really bad cramp and my sister was checked by Dr. Amoljeet Lail S.
And he was very rude and told us that’s sister has nothing and that we have wasted his family time and was rude and even we can see he was scolding to us with reception. We were very disappointed and we used our insurance card he was informed that “ this is nothing and that’s not fair your not even pay to me and you are wasting my family time as well” We were extremely surprised never thought doctors are like that. Doctors are supposed help people not scold to patients. Disappointing and not recommending.

Regret ever leaving our Grandpa here. Last night he rang for service multiple times to use the washroom at 12. They came at 5am finally when he got up himself after being too weak. They strapped him down. If you love your family member.just don't.

Absolutely worst experience of my life. I got treated like an orphaned dog. I was shipped after 3.5 days from the downstairs hallway to a walk-in closet sized room with another family upstairs. Next morning I was told I'm going back to a hallway upstairs because the other patient takes some oxygen which is not good for me. I don't what will be next. The nurses never know my medicine regiment. They are always confused. They don't give my meds ever on schedule. I have to tell them what the doctor said to give me. Age old excuse is.oh it's so busy. Be prepared to become a piece of meat in the butcher shop here. I truly came in here thinking and expecting not too much. Even then I am very disapplointed.

Saved my life a number of times and had to help my family and friends through the years. The staff are wonderful and hardworking. Highly appreciate everything they do.

Okay first of all who are we to leave reviews for a free hospital?
Regardless, I will leave my positive review as I am grateful for our experience. My cousin is in ICU critical care. Her state has gone from dire to hopeful. Her nurses are attentive, kind and patient. I know our girl is in great hands and our experience has been as stress free as possible. From visitation to open conversation with the nurses and social worker thank you Surrey Memorial Staff.
