Surrey-Newton Urgent and Primary Care Centre

Went there at 5: 30 No people there would not take me sent me to urgent care by Surrey hospital! This place should be shut down waste of taxpayer money and no one was there.

We arrived at 6: 30 Sunday evening and they are supposed to close at 9. There were only two people waiting in front. However we were told they were booked and we had to leave with a sick kid. The staff at the facility are compensated on an hourly basis, regardless of the number of patients they attend to, which seemingly creates less incentive to see more patients. I would advise against visiting this place, as our experience was quite frustrating.

What is the point of this place? It says walk in urgent care.but when you walk in they tell you they have appointments booked. Useless.better to go to own family physician. I have the stomach flu, vomitting and have diarrhea yet they tell me to go else where.as is i barely could get out.of the house.

Open at 2: 00pm and started waiting outside at 1: 20pm. A long line of around 20 people was waiting before opening. Went in around 2: 10pm and was told there’s no doctor today for urgent care. I mean at least you can put a note on the window or just send a staff outside before 2: 00pm letting people know that earlier so they don’t need to keep waiting in the cold rain.

My son cut his leg quite deeply. We arrived at 3: 30pm and we were seen in less than 15 minutes by a nurse assessed who cleaned and bandaged the wound. Told us to come back a few hours later for stitches. No waiting when we came back, we were seen right away. My son has a needle phobia and these were his first stitches. The doctor was very patient with him while freezing and stitching. Was so much better than waiting for hours and hours in an ER waiting room.

The receptionist needs training in customer service. I assumed she had a bad start to the day. Needs to smile more.

Deserves no stars.i went into this office with symptoms of strep throat after 4 hours of waiting for the doctor she asked me 100 questions about myself not even looking in my mouth then when she did for 1 whole second she says theres nothing it will go away.the next day i go to a different clinic they actually look in my mouth and prescribed me strep antibiotics.

After reading the reviews I was but hesitate to visit, clinic was empty when I stepped in waited for the nurse to another person came 10 mins after me was sent in to see the nurse 2 receptionist were sitting inside the room close to the reception desk and were just laughing loud didn’t seem like it’s a Healtcare facility more like a gossip point and no rules were followed wasted more than an hour for nothing

Doctor was very helpful and Informative. Staff was great and very professional as they were at capacity but still were able to get me all checked out within half hour.

The receptionist is beyond rude and condescending. This place is a joke and the staff aren't helpful, personable or professional. Get some new staff that care. Disgusting.

Hello went to Newton urgent care on the 28th as I could not find a real walk-in clinic. All walk-ins are appointment only now. What a ridiculous thing. Anyways, I went to urgent care told them my situation and they weren't very welcoming at all!
They asked me what my symptoms are and I told them. This has been ongoing for me for months. I needed to see a doctor that day! They refused. They told me to go to a walk-in clinic repeatedly and I repeatedly told them there are none! They are all booked for two weeks. Instead of seeing me, they said they will give me a list of walk ins around the area. I went back the receptionist and they just gave me the Medicare website. I said i already knkw this i was told i was going to get a list. I didn't get one. Then I left. Called many more clinics and nothing. Noone accepts walk ins anymore.

Everyone, I had to go all the way to the urgent care in Vancouver, by transit feeling sick just to be seen by a doctor that day! They were highly conscerned about my situation. I told them i need a note for work they gave me one. They did some additional tests and they fast tracked me to see a specialist. They were very professional and they take a lot of time with you.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT URGENT CARE SURREY.apparently it is a fraservalley urgent care thing that they only treat patient who need care for 24 hour issues like a deep cut in the hand. They told me this so I don't know for sure.

I just recommend going to vancouver. Depending on the day, and patients with urgency, they could be fast or slow. But it is worth it. They take their time with you when seeing you. I've been to the vancouver urgent care many times when dealing with my situation. But recently moved to surrey so I was really surprised when I walked into the urgent care in Surrey and was turned away. So disappointed. I had to take transit to van. It hurt a lot to do that as I am sick.

I will never go here again.

I came here a few years ago because I was having an allergic reaction to a new acne treatment I was trying. My face was red, itchy, and swollen. The doctor took one look at my face and told me there was nothing wrong with me and he didn't see any swelling. I thought maybe I waited so long that the swelling calmed down. When I got into my car and looked in the mirror, my face was definitely still swollen. I got home and my family confirmed with me that my face was definitely swollen. I am very concerned that a doctor wouldn't notice an allergic reaction and would dismiss me like I was the crazy one.

I have read through the comments section and unfortunately, I must agree with others who have had negative experiences at this clinic. The receptionists have been unprofessional and non-responsive, and on my most recent attempt to contact the clinic, I had to make multiple phone calls before they answered. After being asked to hold on, I was ultimately disconnected.
The receptionists at this clinic also have repeatedly failed to follow up on my requests despite initially agreeing to do so.

I hope these reviews will encourage the clinic management to make improvements for better patient experiences in the future.

I’ve never had an issue here. I absolutely love it! That said I’ve never done walk In. I have a doctor I go and see who is an absolute angel! Reception is super nice. Sometimes it’s hard to get a hold of them but when I do they are always helpful.

The name is Urgent care centre but they Dont care if the person is dying. The don’t even care about the person’s condition. You have to wait for hours and hours to see nurse even if you are dying. Worst medical system

Everything here is great, the staff, doctors, and its also really clean from the inside! It was my first time here and really good experience, from now on I will always be going here whenever i need to, totally recommend it!

All these reviews are pointless, when they are just there to hand you over a slip how to find another walk in clinic or go to hospital and no treatment for you

Went to the clinic at 8: 03 pm and the receptionist said we are fully booked and it’s our closing time. In the waiting area only one patient was there. Closing time website is showing 9: 00 pm and how it’s possible for checking one patient will take more than 57 minutes. Truth is the receptionists want to spend time on chatting and getting free money from govt rather than doing their due diligence

So my knee got swollen & ballooned. After 2 days I called the nurses line, who told me to go here. There is no urgent care, I told them I couldn’t walk or sit & how bad the pain was.
After 3 hours, I realized all they are doing is prioritizing parents with sick kids. If you aren’t a parent with a sick kid, go elsewhere.

Came here yesterday just before noon, receptionist asked if we had an appointment, told her my daughter needs to be seen for physical exam for dental work, she said they’re “NOT OPEN ‘til 1: 45”. So we left.

We came back around 1: 20, and just sat inside, we see people coming in asking to be seen, receptionist would ask them the same thing she asked us and tell them “They’re not open until 1: 45”. I’ve heard a couple of them asked if they can sit inside, receptionist would just reply “We’re not open until 1: 45”. —ALRIGHT, if the clinic decides not to entertain the people coming in, why don’t they just lock their door? And if they’d leave them unlock, what’s so bad for people to be waiting inside the clinic especially when it’s cold outside?

When we were finally seen by the reception at “1: 45”, she denied us straight away. I explained to her it’s only a physical exam, why can’t it be done? And she said they don’t do “Peri-operative Forms”. I asked her to look at the form I brought while placing it on the window for her to look at—which she wouldn’t even look at. Both of us upset, she asked if I wanted to speak to the care manager. And I said “Yes! ”

Care Manager came and said the same thing, that THEY DO NOT DO PHYSICAL EXAM PRIOR TO SURGERY. I then told her that our Dr’s on vacation and walk-ins were full and i’ve been calling several and they are at capacity.

Their WEBSITE IS UNCLEAR ABOUT WHAT SERVICES THEY PROVIDE.

How urgent is urgent?

We needed it done this week and couldn’t find a walk-in since last week.

When you have urgency please do not come here. If you time to wait for days then only come here.

My husband and I have been to this clinic so many times. Adeline and Erin really help us to address any health issue we have. We always feel that we are not being rush and they take their time to talk to us and educate us for any health issue we have. We liked that our consultation time is about 30 minutes or more. They are very caring and kind professional Nurse Practitioner. We always feel comfortable to talk to them our health issue. The place is also very clean and most of the staff are very approachable and helpful. We hope that this clinic will continue to provide good service.

Based on a Sunday experience:
Receptionists were very pleasant
The nurse was amazing and empathetic
The doctor was very professional and kind
Took us around 1-2 hours to be seen by the doctor
Overall, it was a pretty good experience

There are always excuses from reception there is no docter here, don't waste your time here.

They accept walk-ins. They don't serve on first come first serve basis and we don't understand on what basis do they determine the priority. Came at 9am and have been waiting till past noon just to hear from them that 'we're unable to provide a wait time as the nurse prioritizes the intake depending on urgency '. Whereas the nurse initially said there are 7 people before us, and already more than 12 people went in before us and we didn't see anyone not being able to breathe or walk. If so, they would have gone to ER! Didn't know a cold was a priority in Canada! And another weird policy is they don't register a patient unless the patient is here.

Waiting even after reaching on time. Came here 3 o clock as my kid was suffering from a fever. Gave an appointment at 6 pm. Waited for 1 hour, The receptionist doesn't care for anything, already spent an hour already on a no rush day. They just don't care about it.

Just go to the ER if you have an actual urgent issue. Walk-ins filled up by 1030am. I showed up before they opened and registered. Sat here for nearly 3 hours and was told they can't give an estimate of how much longer the wait will be. Just sitting here watching them turn away patient after patient including kids. Depressing joke of a place with unhelpful staff. Why enthusiastically ask why someone is here before telling them you're at capacity? Why not just put up a sign? This is the kind of unempathetic subhuman care you'll receive here
