Surrey Sport & Leisure Centre in Fleetwood, Surrey, BC, impresses with exceptional facilities and friendly staff. The center offers a fantastic experience, blending top-notch amenities with a welcoming atmosphere. Whether it's the well-equipped gym, pool or the helpful staff, every visit is a positive and enjoyable fitness journey. Highly recommended.
Nice leisure complex. There is the pool area and also ice rink. There is lots of parking. Easy access to the complex. Front entrance is spacious with a great viewing area to see the pools. I was only able to view the complex and did not use any of the facilities. My overall impression is positive and perhaps we will visit and use the facility.
Didn't like this pool at all. We have had to move locations due to a month long maintenance scheduled at ours. I had high hopes but it's soo old and dirty. The floors throughout the pool and especially in the changerooms are super slippery and dangerous. The floors are slimy. The top of the stairs at the hot tub are blk with mold. I was honestly worried for my feet. I almost fell 3 times on the deck and once in the changeroom. The deep end had the small diving board open but no one attending it so kids were jumping while other kids were swimming in the same area. Just not safe. And to find out u dont get ur money back for thw lockers just blew my mind. All in all we will be finding another pool to go to.
Love the space at this gym. The equipment and maintenance is awesome too. Gets busy during the expected times but always a good workout. Pool and sauna never disappoint.
Disappointing Experience with Birthday Party Instructor
I’m writing this review with a heavy heart as I had high hopes for my daughter’s 9th birthday party at Surrey Sports & Leisure Centre. We were promised a one-hour session with an instructor to guide and engage the children in swimming activities. However, our experience was far from satisfactory.
The instructor, Rosy, did not participate in the pool activities as one would expect. She remained outside the pool for the entire hour, thereby compromising the safety and engagement level for the children. To make matters worse, she was absent for 15 minutes during this crucial time without prior notice or arrangement for a substitute.
I lodged a complaint about this issue at the office, but no one has apologized to me. The overall experience was disappointing and did not meet the standards we have come to expect from your establishment. I hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure that future customers do not encounter similar issues.
Every day I see many parents sitting by the stairs and their children playing with water in front of them. But today she did not allow my child to (sit down) and even put her foot in the water. We were waiting for a swimming lesson, and I was not ready to swim with her this time, and she was rude to us. My daughter cried a lot because she could not play or put her foot in the water, she is 5 and a half years old. Very bad treatment from the supervisor. Kids jumping into the pool from everywhere and it's not safe. Rosary places are always very limited for lessons.
No clear display online as to what it costs for a drop in swim and when you try to call you will likely never get through. Front desk must be run by teenagers who are too scared to answer and/or lift their faces from their own phone… There is nothing like UBC Aquatic Centre…Thumbs down Surrey.
My favorite pool to go to. Has a decent slide, and small and medium diving board which are a fun way to pass the time if you are not doing laps, which are my way to relax and enjoy exercise the most. The shallow end is nice with kid friendly water features and it's really nice to have a sauna and steam room to detox.
Pool is good but hot tub was closed and someone posed in the swimming pool and another big mistake when you put 50 cents in the locker room you take the key out but there is no number on which locker room you put your valuables in. I had to memorize stupid system. The pool itself is one of the best in Surrey but hot tub is closed. Disappointing
Excellent place if you want to exercise, you can go to the gym or you can also swim in one of its 2 large pool, with different depths, there is also a water play area for children, closely watched by lifeguards and two hot top where you can relax as well like in the sauna or in the steam room, the staff is friendly, a large parking area with a bike rack, for improv, please change the latches on the doors of some of the dressing rooms, they are broken… I love swimming there.me encanta este lugar para nadar
Family uses the pool weekly, nice place to go. Pools are well thought out.
Gym is pleasant and inviting and no standoffish attitudes, good selection of equipment and free weights.
The team has always treated my children pleasantly and thoughtful with a proper stern tone when they've deserved it. I appreciate the assistance and consistent rules.
This aquatics facility needs work. Floors are covered in hair globs and visibly dirty in the change rooms. The showers and change spaces are separate. Lockers eat my change every time. No guards on the small slide so kids are on top of eachother. And it is cold in there.
Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex is exactly as the name implies: the central hub for sports and leisure within the city of Surrey! Staff are friendly and approachable for the most part, and well seasoned and knowledgeable in order to ensure you are given the quality of care you will appreciate, in hopes you'll return in the future! While there are some sore spots for sure (those change rooms) it is still a fantastic option for those in the area looking for a day out with family or getting a good workout in (P. S.be sure to take an aquatic fitness class. I've heard they've had some pretty good ones in the past!)
Been coming here for 20+ years. Such a beautifully maintained facility. Always clean and well kept. Kudos to the staff and janitorial people working there. Credit where credit is due! Ronaldo working here does an amazing job of maintaining the facility and keeping it clean and beautiful.
One of the best leisure complexes in Surrey. Clean, organized, friendly staff. The machines at the gym are in great conditions, some are old but in great shape. The pools are always clean and there’s always lifeguards (at least 4) paying attention to the people. The parking lot is big and there’s always space. The price for the “drop in activities” is reasonable. Make a reservation before you go due to COVID 19 protocols.
Very open pool space. Not many features for the little kids except for the relatively large pool area for them to walk around. Water was on the cooler side
One of the best city facility in town. City of Surrey Pop up vaccination clinic was set up here as well. Pictures are from the pop up clinic in May 2021
Of all the rec centers in the COVID area in Surrey, this was the best spot to work out. Most of the equipment was open, staff generally seemed more friendly. Better experience overall, which isn't saying much considering they still limit access to facilities. A lot of people also sitting on their phones on machines which is frustrating given the time constraints. Plenty of parking.
I reserved the leisure pool and hot tub. Very hard to reserve spots. Be advised the leisure pool is quite shallow with beach entry so more suitable for kids. Hot tub was nice and each patron was very well spaced out. At the end, the main lane swimming pool was cleared out and we had the oppurunity to swim there too for about 20 minutes. Be advised to change before arriving and there will be no proper shower offered to you only a rinse off. Had to race home and shower at home. Nice and covid safe exprience.
We've visited the pool a few times this year. The staff are friendly and answered our questions. Because of covid there aren't very many people which is quite nice.
My sons practically grew up here playing hockey and in the pool. We need this facility to be open again. It is a pillar of community life in East Surrey.
My last choice for kids swim lessons. Unkind pool staff. Worst customer service. Check in’s experience was disappointing and felt offended as the lady went suspicious. I was called by the lady after entering thru my pass to double check that my two kids are in lessons although it was quite obvious as both were holding report cards. I was told to use a more than one pass for a family entry. If they put self check, they should trust the people. Otherwise should stand their personally to check entries.
Lots of punjabi people with no concept of social etiquette.
They talk loudly in the sauna when people are trying to relax, rub there sweaty bodies so their nasty sweat flies everywhere, and love to be creepy. They will stare for no reason. I'm a man btw.
The lifeguards love being on water bottle patrol. One girl left the door open for 10 seconds which is long enough to make the sauna cool again so she could tell me my bottle is not allowed and that I need to take it outside.
Why would you not want patrons to be hydrated when in the sauna? I can understand glass or plastic. I have an insulated steel water bottle.
The visit that I had at the location for swimming at least was amazing. The pools have a variety of shallow and deep. The way you enter there is the shallow pool ahead of you. While beside you there is a sauna and a steam room. Not to to mention the gym and yoga room above and the skating arenas (that's right plural) beside it. A tremendous variety of options make this location my favorite. However, the change rooms for the pool are sort of filthy. Not filthy like its completely disgusting, just that there is an abundance of hair here and there.
I only give half a star. Worst pool ever, I went there hoping to have a good time, instead having the worst experience of my life. I went there around 3: 00, i asked we the slide would be open, "At 7: 30" is my reply. That is okay i guess i was really hoping to go down the slide, what else should i do, how about the diving boards? I go there and jump off a couple times it's okay. I ask if the bigger diving board can be open, they say "You can jump off once. " So i jump off and go to go to the smaller one, but they close it because of swimming lessons. Now i just swim around until the swimming lessons move to a different pool, yet the diving board doesn't open. About ten minutes later someone pukes in the deep end of the pool. Then we have to exit that part of the pool. They reopen it about fifteen minutes later. I decided to leave i walk into the change room to find a bunch of naked women walking around. { I know they can't control that so much} I get into the change room where i am joined with a bunch of hair, not my hair. Disgusting enough there are people changing everywhere, which makes no sense because there were change rooms open. The worst pool ever, would rather swim in a lake. Not coming back. The only good thing good about this Rec centre is the skating part, haven't been to the 'working out place' of it but otherwise WORST PLACE EVER TO SWIM
