Fantastic site! I think they might even have a section for Grandma, bless her soul. Kidding aside, the staff are helpful and they take just about everything, including styrofoam. The location is so much closer than Port Kells, and they take a greater amount of products. Have a look at their list, this place is not for Commercial
Vehicles so its also less congested

Staff at the weigh in are very helpful and it’s nice and organized inside the garbage centre However the people working at the recycling point are not The person working at the stop sign/ check in point was talking on her phone (as I could hear her) as I was looking for where to go to bring my items I proceeded to go and she yelled at me to stop If she wasn’t on her phone and doing her job the process would been a lot more helpful

I like this dump I’ve been going to this dump since I’ve been a kid I enjoy smashing and throwing stuff out I love when stuffs broken because I get to have my own personal rage room at the dump

I mean what more can you expect from waste management centre. They have perfected the entire process. Disposing waste at this centre is easier than getting burger at McDonald’s drive thru

Be careful of paying with cash because the receptionist we had said we were short $10 but we weren’t. Stupidly, we gave him the extra $10 so he scammed us and probably pocketed that cash for himself. Make sure to take your receipt.

They should do a much better job cleaning up nails, every time I go to dump our trailers I always come back with a nail in my tire.

Replaced three trailer tires. Dumped more garbage today came back to the yard with another nail puncturing a brand new tire.

I have always had good things to say about the staff and facility here. But some of the people unloading their vehicles need to check the trajectory of the items they are throwing. The last two times, I have been hit by random things being thrown from other vehicles. But staff and facility 5 stars.

I had 225 kg of house hold renovation waste to dump. Was there at 615 am. I was the only one. Staff is so sweet and helpful. Guided me nicely. Rental trucks $50 deposit which is reimbursed on exit. I loved the fact that the entire truck is weighed at entry and exit! Highly recommend this place.
The paint for directions are almost invisible. They should be repainted.

Hooray Surrey for this fabulous free recycling facility! Self sort into appropriate bins your soft plastics, hard plastics, cardboard, Styrofoam; drop off metal, small appliances, used oil, old paint, glass; place in donation bins books and used clothing. Simple and done!

I finished an extensive exterior renovation resulting in 600 kg of waste. It included OSB, rotten plywood, vinyl siding, insulation and a couple of windows with compromised seals. All classified as general garbage. I had to do it in 2 trips.

I arrived at 6 am on a Friday and a Tuesday. There was no waiting and after weigh in drove straight to the unload point. Vehicle emptied in under 10 minutes both trips. Of course I was under the watchful eye of a worker to ensure I had no controlled materials such as metals or particularly drywall.

Total for the 2 loads came to $46 which is significantly less than renting a bin or have a company pick it up.

They do take clean, unpainted drywall for an extra fee but not used drywall which is banned from the site. Remember I said I was under the watchful eye of an onsite worker with a radio.

I find taking waste directly to the transfer station early during the week to be very easy, environmentally prudent given the discarded item classifications yet cost effective. Weekends are busier but I've never been longer than a half hour in line in the morning.

Don't dump your garbage at the side of the road. Take it to the transfer station. Including mattresses and broken chairs.

What a lovely place they took my old dishwasher no ten page questionair staff were so polite.thank you all.

Great to have this facility as an option. As a first time visitor I had a couple hiccups, metal unloads first so be sure it is on top. When you leave you follow the building and turn right. The arrows are very faded away. Other than that the staff were great and the facility is efficient.

My experience was great. I was happy they were open early. I was able to drop a load off on my way home from a night shift. It worked out perfectly.

Easy experience, great staff but $25 minimum charge is a bit steep with only one peice of broken glass.

This facility is not accepting cans from paint. Hard to drive with trailer at the dump - to tight. Not busy from 12 pm to 1 pm.

Really friendly staff here. One would think working around stinky waste all day/week/month would drive the average person insane.
They have recycling ️ & everything you need for your disposal needs.

Very friendly and polite staff, who kept everything moving. Organized and clean for a transfer station.

I've used this transfer station three times, the first two times I didn't find the employees over friendly but they were doing their jobs & I was there to dump my garbage, not make friends. Made a trip today, I was in/out within 10 minutes, the employee at the booth was friendly & helpful. As far as people commenting on the smell, it's a dump, of course it's going to smell. How many people remember going to the outdoor dump? That place really stunk & you'd get dive bombed by seagulls.

Annoying that they charge you for mattresses and for the weight of them when dumping make so youbare paying for them twice

Never had a problem dealing with this transfer station. I usually deal with the commercial side. The attendant is always super nice tells me what I can't dump there. And if there's something I have that I can't dispose of here. Tells me exactly where I need to go. I don't know why other people have such problems with this place. You bring in a mix load they're going to charge you the higher price Which is fair.

One shift makes you give a deposit, and the shift that does is rude. You would think the city would have consistency in there policies.

What a disorganized place. No wonder people dump illegal drywall because the process is so hard and painful and no clear instructions are given. They only want 10 kg drywall with gooseneck tie. Come on people what do you do with all those plastic bags that cost 30 dollars for 6 bags. Is this a new way to rip off general public. I can understand single bag sealed with tape but making people do things that are absolute pain is no way to go.

Go to Burnaby recycling it’s 100x better shocking they difference.
First time in and don’t understand how this works, how do you bring a mixed load of garbage and recycling.
They charge me for the full weight in garbage.
Seriously flawed system.
Batteries? Hidden behind a shipping container. What good is this set up?

Took a load here a couple days ago and was quite happy with dumping costs. Why do so many people dump illegally.

Theyre fantastic! It's good to realize the peak times 10am-2pm. Try to go earlier or later. I did, and was in and out, no hassle at all!

This transfer station is ok. Obviously smelly. Price is alright. Employees will wait til you've thrown things out before making you pick them up to put them somewhere else which seems cruel and unusual.

Reopen the donation bin! Garbage is more dirty and unsafe than donations. People are throwing away good, reusable things because the bin is shut down due to covid. One stop will always be easier than a dump run and then a donation center run.

They take metal for free, anytime in rush n dnt have time to go to metal scrapper ise this place to dump your free metal.n mattresses are cheap to 15 bucks some places charge 25$

They wont take any painted drywall at this transfer station forcing you to drive to different parts of the lower mainland to get rid of drywall.

Great service and friendly staff. I had some used drywall that normally would be very expensive to dispose in the regular channels. I found out through the Metro Vancouver website that you can buy special bags for used drywall disposals that are accepted at this location, residential only. The bags are from Rona.

This place is great. Everyone there is great except one of the lady's that work the weight station seems to have an issue with loads not tarped even when there is no need for the loaf to be tarped since it has all big items that will not fall out or blow away. I wouldnt reccomend going to this site just because of her. I've been going there for years now and no issues ever except if I get the lady with the dog.

I live in surrey, literally 12 mins from this transfer station. Yet I chose to go to Eco Waste in Richmond with my waste. Please please, please.invest in the staff's customer service skills. Garbage collection workers are very essential. But these employees on the front line clearly needs training on how to deal with the public. Thank you.
