Sushi Aria Japanese Restaurant

I have been to this place before and enjoyed the food. Today service was slower because it was a Friday and the dinner rush was on. If you go before the dinner rush, you'll get your food in a timely fashion.

The staff were horrible. She didn’t smile, she didn’t check on us. We kept having to wave her over and she did not look like she wanted to be there. If we go out to dine at a restaurant, the least waiters could do is their job. We will not be returning here.

Came here with my 3 year old and her grandparents. We ordered tempura udon, sushi and sashimi combo, salmon donburi, sashimi salad and spicy salmon roll. They give you a big pot of tea.

Good food. Good value. Good service. Good portions. We will come again.

First time coming in after passing by a few times. Very friendly service and great selections to chose from. Everything was very fresh and well made. The aburi sushi was very delicious and didn’t crumble like other places that don’t make it well.
Overall for the price service and quality, a very good place to come and try. Will be back again for sure.

$20 volcano roll is served soggy. More sauce then sushi, it’s literally drowning like soup with rice.

Great food and great experience. Ordered the Aria Lunch set and food was fresh and quality was top notch. I highly recommend this place!

Satisfactory Korean run Japanese restaurant in a good complex with lots of parking. We had ventured here for a family dinner and ordered a lot of food (as pictured). The tempura was nicely coated and crispy. The sunomono was a bit more vinegary than I’d like. The yakisoba was okay but a bit oily. Overall it was a decent meal! It was quite busy and had a lot of pick up orders which means it must be a fan favourite in the neighbourhood.

Donburi is the tastiest I've ever eaten, with better food quality and value that shames those cost a few dollars more, and service attitude without all the fuss and pompousness.

Busy resto on a Friday but got a seat before crowd came. Beef teriyaki was good taste, sizzling plate wasn't sizzling though, too watery. I asked the waitress if there's prawn and Yam tempura and she claims prawn and sweet potato is a Yam. I guess she doesn't know the difference cuz we got sweet potato instead of Yam. Prawn were skinny, should be called shrimp tempura. My bf's chicken katsu was alright too, but he would not order that again as we prefer another resto for that dish. We'd go back and try other items especially when our go-to resto had 35mins wait.

Love the menu and the quality. Service is quick and fast. Dining in and taking out are both good. I always leave full and happy. I recommend this place.

Visited here again despite weather. Friendly staff, good value for money, try their new Kimchi Udon as well. Crunchy awesome roll and volcano rolls are my go-to menu. Love the fact that parking is always available.

Very slow. Waited 20 mins to pick up order as uber driver. Wasted alot of time. Ubereats should really fine them

As we entered to restaurant we greeted by most amazing hosts. The seating well laid out very clean there tea just amazing relaxing they attended to us very well also they very kind and attentive to us I highly recommend this restaurant for first time date families meeting up and just having great meal after work five stars all the way.

Subpar food, salmon oshi sushi and the fantastic crunchy roll were disappointing. Slightly overpriced as well. Servers were nice people.

I think the foods and services I get at this price are great. I recommend special sushi! I will back again.

Best sushi place in Richmond

This place has lunch sets which allow you to try a bit of everything. The presentation is also very nice as it comes on a tray and the foods are different colors too. Tried the Coco lunch set which came with green soba in broth, eel/unagi on rice, tofu, ebi mayo, and gomae. The gomae was delicious as it had a unique peanut sauce and the ebi mayo was fried to perfection. The rest of the food including the salmon Maki and awesome crunch roll were just average. Also tried the Aria lunch set and the tempura was great. The chicken terriyaki on rice had good grill/wok flavor. Overall, a great sushi place for lunch sets.

I’d give zero stars if I could. Never ever going back again! Decided to come here for a birthday dinner and what a way for this restaurant to ruin the whole experience! Horrible and rude, customer service. Food was meh. Ordered food. They came at 8: 30 and told us it was last call. We ordered an additional dish, and at 8: 55 they said, “we are closing in 5 minutes. ” We weren’t even 50% done our dinner, and during this time, they were doing their closing duties like cleaning and sweeping.at 8: 57pm, they again came to our table and said “we are closing in 3 minutes”. So we asked them…. ”…. What would you like us to do? We’re not done our dinner yet.do you want us to take this away? ” To our surprise, they said “YES! ” I don’t think anyone has EVER been told to leave the restaurant because they had to close and can’t wait for the customer to finish. This is extremely ridiculous! I don’t recall their sign saying it’s a speed eating competition restaurant? I will do my BEST to ensure anyone and everyone we know do NOT give ANY business to Sushi Aria! …. But it’s only a matter of time because their business volumes have diminished greatly since their early days!

The rolls were horrible, way too much mayo, the cabin the California roll was mushed up, it actually looked like an egg salad. The rolls were sliced by a real amateur with way different slice sizes and a couple that were thick on one side and thin on the other. We won't be going back after that fiasco.

My go to sushi spot, fresh ingredients especially seafood. Always get takeout here, crunchy Awesome rolls, poke bowl and sashimi are my favourite. Ten out of ten times I can get fresh salmon sashimi, just coz how I passionately love salmon, so the texture and freshness is instant

If in the area this is an excellent sushi restaurant. Food is fresh and well presented. For the past few visits it takes about 30 minutes to prepare an order. Ample free parking within Garden City Mall. They have an easy to use online ordering system that has up to date pricing and photos of each item. Not so great paper take out menu is a black and white photocopy of text only.

They were very clear that I couldn't make any changes to the bento box. I offered to pay, and they said no exceptions as those were the rules, I left.

Their rules lost a customer, and I found a wonderful place down the street Gami Sushi! Helpful, Kind, and I don’t need to make any changes to the bento box as they make it as I like it!

Pretty average eatery. Udon was okay but the special Ramen was a disaster, being extremely salty. And to make matters worse, there's no other tastes! Probably will not return.

I am surprised this place isn't over 4stars. The food quality is up to standard, worth a 4-star, at least for the items we v tried so far (various rolls, tempura, sashimi). I gave a five-star over all because of the good price, quantity and service.
We LOVE their SPECIAL SAUCE on Alaska rolls! Sooo good! We tried both dine in and take out. Their staff are nice. Even though the waiting time for take out is on the long side, but they noticed you ahead, so not a big issue.
One suggestion is that hope they put more descriptions and Photos on the on line order site.

Fairly average sushi nothing too outstanding. Miso soup was excellent and the salmon sashimi cut into good thickness slices. Presentation was well done.

Definitely not what it used to be. Salmon Oshi and Hotate Oshi was pretty bland but the Alaska combo was pretty good.

Dine in experience had lots of good service. Staff pretty attentive and careful with substitutes (good for people with allergies). Good portions. Not super wow food but still good food so no complaints!

Good sushi overall! It's not mind-blowing, but what you would expect from other k-sushi places, so it's a reliable good quality/amount for what you pay. Ingredients were fresh and rice was cooked well.

Dine in experience was good. Tables are socially distanced and staff sanitized them between groups. The staff were friendly and attentive. At the end it was a bit hard to catch them to pay so we just went to the front. There were only 2 staff on the floor as it got busy for dinner time so I would just chalk that up to being understaffed.

I got sushi packed for to go a few times. Their food has been always fresh and the size of the roll was perfect for our family.

Kids loved their rolls so much, and it was easy to get them fed for dinner.

Talking on the phone for order was easy and they were kind as well. I will surely go to the place again and recommend other friends to try.

Excellent service serving with quality food and very authentic japanese dishes. Very high price per quality ratio. Will definitely come back.

Used to come and enjoy the sushi and other dishes here. Portion size and pricing were all reasonable. However, yesterday's take out was completely the opposite and am extremely disappointed. The portion sizes were so small, even a small child was not full after eating a whole udon bowl. The beef terriyaki was also very dry and tough and the texture was akin to chips! Everyone was just shocked at the change in portion sizes and quality of the food. Sincerely hope they make appropriate changes as we used to look forward to our visits here.

The chirashi don is fresh, delicious and priced fair too. I also recommend the saba tray (includes rice, two side dishes and soup) for its value and taste. Lastly, my daughter is a fan of their Alaska roll, a must try!

Overall very disappointing. It use to be way better.
Now the rice disintegrates once I put my chopsticks to it. Worst of all the rice is cold. Might as well buy sushi from the cooler.

If you want really little quantity for just ok sushi that's overpriced then this would be the place.

This place has upped their game over time! I remember when they first opened and the sushi wasn't that great, but now the Nigiris are probably the best bang for your buck in ALL of Richmond! BEWARE, THEY ARE ALWAYS SOOOOO busy and takeout are always longer than quoted

Been a while since I been here. It's my second time to eat here. Decided to get order some take out for tonight dinner.

I wasn't sure what to get, so I asked the lady at the counter for some recommendations. I end up ordering Chicken Yaki Udon and Crunch Awesome Roll

*Customer service: Base on the few minutes communicating with the lady. I would say great - very polite, well mannered, easy to understand and I do not feel like I'm being rushed (it was not busy when I enter the store. That was one customer in front of me) She asked if I want sushi or hot food first. Then base on what I told her, she told me what is popular on the menu.

*Food: I would say good. Tasted like any other Japanese restaurants. Not bad nor special (that's good)
-Yaki Udon: still chewy. Perfect amount of seasoning. Not overly salty nor sweet. But, not much chicken.
-Crunch Awesome Roll: It's a California roll with some crunchy, fried items on top with a slight kick. Not bad nor special. But is it awesome? Sure is. Not worth the 10 dollars though. (But inflation, i get it)

*Portion: For a male that is close to under weight on the BMI scale. I am close to full. Enough space for a cup of bubble that you can get in the same shopping centre that this restaurant is located in

*Price: decent - about the same price that you would pay for a fried noodle and a special roll in other Japanese restaurants

I've ordered what the friendly server recommended, those were absolutely fantastic. What I had was the 'Magic salmon roll', one of the special rolls in Aria. Even though I don't really like smoked salmon, the one in Aria was awesome! You definitely should try with sake!

I have always had a positive experience here, typically get take out and usually get the Negitoro, Negihama, Poke Bowl, and a few others. The food has always been great and service always just fine.

Fish tastes fresh- ordered sockeye salmon and toro. Rice could improve though, it's a bit gummy. Take out service has been pleasant and efficient. Not too sure, but the price seems to have gone up from 2019. My order seems a bit higher, I would feel better if the rice improves!

My coworkers and I frequent Sushi Aria for lunch as we work nearby. Unfortunately today we experienced extremely rude service and our food was not only overpriced but also not what we expected. Our miso soup had zero tofu. We ordered the Korean style hot stone bowl and with a very minimal description on the menu, our expectations were definitely not met. It was basically a huge stone bowl full of rice with very few pieces of kimchi and slivers of cucumber. We asked for some chili paste and we were told it would be an additional charge for chili paste. When we suggested putting a better description to prevent further customer disappointment the gentleman suggested "you could have asked. " Very rude interaction. We will not be returning.

Great meal with good priced food in the neighbourhood. Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants in Richmond/Vancouver

Its a bit expensive and the platters are served in a small portion but the place is neat and nice. I would go to this place on rare occasions only‍️

We ordered their chicken teriyaki plate, California/Dynamite roll and thought it tasted decent. The food was presented very well. As far as their selection of food, we were rather disappointed.

It's an average place for its price range. However, the chicken udon soup tastes like there's bleach in it. Probably really poor quality soy/ingredients they use for the soup base. Yikes.

The service was attentive and friendly. The menu offers a wide variety of Japanese food; including sushi and several Japanese beers. The prices are moderate, but great value for the quality and portion sizes.

I've been coming to this place for years, used to be one of my go to places for sushi.

In my most recent visit there was only one server. Poor guy was running around all over the place by himself. Because of this service was slow.
Takoyaki seemed raw in the middle and my dishes were missing wasabi. I didn't have a chance to ask for some before I finished my meal cause the guy was too busy running all over the place. Used to be 4-5 stars, now i would give the place 2 or 3 at best

Used to be one of my go to places for sushi but things have gone downhill. Raw fish is not as fresh, food takes a long time (1 hour wait for sushi? C'mon.), service has deteriorated and prices have gone up. Gami Sushi is cheaper and better in every aspect.

Fresh sushi. Nice place. Friendly service. Lots of parking. We come here quite a bit for take out but rarely to sit in although it’s nice!
