Good afternoon. Set number two from the menu. In general, both visually and in terms of taste, it is very worthy. This is the second time I eat from this establishment and I am pleased. Thank you to the staff of the establishment for your responsible attitude towards work and your efforts in every role. Strength and health to all of you guys. Not 5 stars because there is always room for growth and development!

NOT GOOD ANYMORE!
Beware! I used to love this place and something has happened. I bring home my food now and 90% of the time something is off. Cold rice, tough beef, weird flavours and smells that aren't supposed to be there. And I have decided (because they used to be SOOOOOO good) to give them the benefit of the doubt - but after about the tenth time I have to let everyone know.they are very hit and miss now and after several phone calls and messages with absolutely no response back to me about my unpleasant experiences I am not going back.so order with caution and don't say I didnt warn you. So sad. I guess when you get popular you say screw the loyal customers cause we don't need them anymore. Well, don't worry you wont see me back there again.

My old review: Small, no liquor, nice staff. The name is cute and so is the interior. Lots of options without a bulky menu. It's the way a sushi joint is supposed to be.

Poor customer relationship, rude answers and tired cashier.

Food taste is important but smiling and polite behaviour are more important.

The inside of the store is small, but you can get service close to it! I am satisfied that I can enjoy both the taste and the service.

All the fish is incredibly fresh, they do an especially good yam roll and everything seems very balanced. Salmon and tuna were excellent, unagi was strangely the best I think I've ever had. Great little gem, they seem to take care to make everything flavorful and tasty. Second trip here, will definitely be coming back!

Come here for lunch from time to time. Affordable and some of the best beef teriyaki I've had in town.

Was sat down, ordered and had food in front of us in 15 minutes.

This place used to be a 4, great every time. It seems like since they opened the second location that the old location has gone down in quality. Today we pre-ordered our food 1.5 hours early, only to receive cold food with old avocados. Last 2 times were also had issues. Will be changing Japanese places now.

The sushi was excellent and very friendly staff. I accidentally dropped something because my hands were full, and the server helped me pick it up. Will be coming back here.

The seating is a little small but they make great tempura with lots of different fun veggies. I also love how they converted all the old mexican decorations from when I remember the restaurant used to be a Mexican place.

Place is really nice, food is great as well. Small restaurant but great workers. A wide selection on ramen, rice, bibimap and sushi. Looking forward to my next visit! The pricing is really fair and good compared to most other places.

Bad service forever. Always order from this restaurant by doordash. Usually give customer chopsticks and soy sauce. They changed the system. Then, no chopsticks and sauce for customer, even the customer didn't pay attention to new function. I called to complain, the staff said the system is changed. Thats all? You dont even confirm or leave the sauce for in case? Will never order from here again

I am sad to be writing this review. Sushi Field Admirals is by far my favourite sushi place in victoria, but I decided to try the Fairfield location as it was the only one available on Uber eats. Firstly, i asked for chopsticks and didn’t receive it. I ordered the Dinner Special beef and a sushi roll. The miso soup was hot, but it tasted like water. It was so bland and it’s so disappointing as I’ve never had bad miso soup before. It was so flavourless and i couldn’t finish it. I got 3 pieces of the tempura (broccoli, yam, and shrimp) when I usually get at least 2 shrimps and a bit more selection. I’ve gotten this exact same order at the Admirals Rd location SEVERAL times. The tempura was fine even though it was so little. My actual dinner was the most disappointing. The rice was extremely wet and sticky, almost impossible to pick with chopsticks. The salad was tiny, even though at the other location I would get a full container full of this salad. This was so lacking for $30 and I’m so disappointed. The beef was also so bland and dry, barely any teriyaki sauce. I was expected almost the same flavour as how I usually get, but now i know I will not be coming back to this location. Not impressed especially considering there were many good reviews here.

Go there if you wana feel yourself a piece of trash. Staff has no etiquettes how to talk. This time kept me waiting for 25 minutes and last time for more than 50 minutes whereas the staff told me order is goin to be ready in 5 minutes. Its all about respect not only Sushi. #RespectForEveryone

DELICIOUS BUT BEWARE OF UNLABELED SPICY ROLLS. Negitoro roll is simply delicious, sushi tasted so fresh, best ive ever had. But I was surprised that the mango roll was spicy, im not that into spicy. I may have only skimmed the ingredients but really i think when something is spicy in sushi it should be listed in the title ex. “Spicy mango roll” was still delicious though, would eat again. I was very excited to eat the chopped scallop ngiri as it looked good and a huge portion but was VERY surprised as it was extremely spicy and not at all enjoyable. I have chopped scallop ngiri every sushi place i go to and it is never spicy. Again this should be on your menu as ‘spicy scallop ngiri’ it is not the norm, and it was a dissapointment.

Simply the best Japanese place in Victoria. Very intimate, cozy setting, excellent, polite service and by far the best Ramen and Gyoza I have had on and off the island. Everything I have had here was top notch, including the Sushi and lesser known items to westerners such as the takoyaki and the Japanese curry. It really is the whole package here, lovely setting with nice, calming music, very good service and food that is not only delicate and delilicious but the presentation is beautiful every time. Love this place.

They were actually taking a break when I came in but jumped to help me and whipped up a couple rolls for me in maybe five minutes. Excellent!

Had a great lunch service was outstanding, had the monkey brain it was delicious, also really enjoyed a variety of rolls. Will be a repeat customer for sure!

I just took my brother to this restaurant for his birthday dinner. He is one of those tall, slim guys who can really pack it in and I had told him to order whatever he wanted. He decided that he wanted the biggest Sushi platter that they offer. It was worth every penny, especially the monkey brains. I'm sure to most it would be self-evident that they were not real monkey brains but I actually had to ask the waitress who laughed. It's actually some kind of deep fried avocado with some other stuff inside and has mystery material sprinkled on top. Absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place. I thought the prices were reasonable, especially for Victoria. The staff was friendly and even brought my brother some fried ice cream because it was his birthday. Will definitely visit again.

I really love this place.all of things are awesome and price is reasonable.even the taste is better than i ate in japan.especially the tables wrapped with leather make me feel eating in clean spaces.

Wonderful little local sushi restaurant in Fairfield. Always fresh and delicious, along with courteous service.
Can’t go wrong if you’re looking for good food and good value.

I went there many times with my friends after new chef took over the restaurant few months ago. I had a veggie udon, victoria roll, sushi field roll, nigiris, and Caterpillar roll. The quality of food is very fresh and good. Their service is also above and beyond. Very friendly staffs!

Stopped by for a late lunch, newly renovated and new owners with great chief, clean and nicely presented. Ordered Victoria roll and tempura, nice and crispy. Assorted Nigiri sushi plate, awesome assortment very fresh and tasty. Definitely recommend!

Extremely delicious Japanese fare. Monkey Brains and Garden roll are excellent! Not to be missed!

This small restaurant was very cozy and the service was kind. The food was simple, but good. There are well labeled vegetarian options. The yam caterpillar roll was very similar to the Victoria Roll at Gozen and was very good.

Young owner has got lots of vision and skills. Serving with beautiful servers with smile. Recommanded this restaurant to my friends.

Amazing food and service. Admittedly I’ve only had their vegan options, but I’ve heard from friends that the rest of their menu is really good too! Highly recommend.
