Great family run business. Food was awesome, I've been in town for a few days trying out different places. Their sushi was perfect, not too heavy on the sauces and made fresh. The staff were great and the place was clean. The prices were very affordable. I bought the same meal from a local competitor, it was $10 more and the food wasn't as good. Highly recommended Sushi Jo!

My wife and I went for lunch at Sushi Jo today and loved it. The food was excellent and the service was great. If you're looking for delicious sushi, this is the place!

The two waitresses at the Campbell River restaurant are racist, my family and I will never go back there again!

I’m from out of town and decided to go here after my family spoke really highly of this restaurant but it was probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I’m also a server so I usually sympathize with others but this was such a bad experience to sit through and tolerate. Half of the order was completely wrong. Which we didn’t make a fuss about because mistakes happen. It was made and brought out to us and we were fine. Then, they completely forgot about our sushi pizza and we asked them about it at least three times to three different people. It took so long that we just had to ask for it to go because it was already the end of the meal. The vegetables from the tempura appetizer were completely cold and raw. We also found a rock in my mother in laws ramen. No one came to quality check our meals till after everything was finished and there is absolutely no excuse as to why. We had to ask for service when we had an issue even though it is a server’s job to check on their tables. It was not busy. Our server was just standing around with the other staff not even paying mind to us. When she finally checked on us, we told her that we were very unhappy and the different issues we had. She apologized and that’s it. It was not escalated and we weren’t compensated for anything. Not even a conversation with a manager. Nothing was resolved and we just left extremely unhappy. My family recommended this place after enjoying dinner there a few days prior but after my time there, I would recommend everyone to just save their money and time.

We ordered a tray. A lot of crab salad and a roll with some kind of pasta in it taste was slightly less. Well cared for.

It was a great ambiance and traditional concept. The food was delicious, was designed well and it was also very cheap. People who were working there were really kind and showed an effort to get what we wanted and help us.

Portion is a little small for the price but the quality of food and service more than makes up for it. Fantastic meal.

Soo I've been to the one in comox was awesome, but in Campbell i ordered the EXACT same as the other restaurant and my bill was 30$ more? And tuna sashimi was very frozen, the rest was ok

My boyfriend and I have always loved coming to Sushi Jo since he introduced the restaurant to me almost 2 years ago. We try to go once a week at least so we can get their delicious takoyaki

Red Dragon Roll! Excellent service. Clean establishment. Incredibly delicious cuisine. Better priced than the Thai places in town.

We had a great lunch, from the unique japanese style seating, friendly table service to the delicious sushi, it was all around a great dining experience. I would love to go back to try different menu items.

Two hours, for a take out order. The wait both for eat in and take out are insane. I used to like this place, but this wait time is unacceptable. I don’t blame the workers, I blame the owners. You need to hire more staff, your poor employees are doing everything they can and getting frustrated customers because they are understaffed. If you can’t find people to work for you, you need to pay your employees more. They truly deserve it with this workload you’re putting on them. I’m so disappointed that you’re letting your staff go through this. This is not a one time occurrence. Happens every single time I’ve try to eat here in the last few months. Where are the owners? What are they doing about it?

Great service, amazing sushi. Fast and delicious. No need for take out container cause it's just that good! Will enjoy coming back time and time again.

First time trying this restaurant. Everything that we tried was absolutely delicious. The service was great. The food was great. Absolutely no complaints. They welcomed us and seated us promptly. Checked in with us often. Was very attentive. All in all a great experience! Hope I get the chance to go back!

Ordered 2 rolls & miso soup for take out. Portion sizes were on point, presentation was perfect (containers not oversized for item) & tasted fantastic! Service was very friendly & prompt. I will definitely order again:)

The food and service were pretty good. Staff was very friendly. My seat was ripped though. Time to invest a bit in the place.

Normally the food and service is great, I also have a lot of forgiveness for how the world has been to the restaurant industry the last couple years. That being said they brought my order out after everyone else was done eating and it was time to go. It wasn’t what I ordered and wasn’t warm. I said it’s fine I’ll just take it home so it wasn’t wasted. They didn’t discount anything and still rang it up as dine in and charged tax. It will be awhile before I go back.

Really wonderful service and cute interior! The sushi rolls were excellent! BC Roll was so good! Highly recommend checking them out for lunch!

We arrived short in time for another event in CR. Thought we’d grab a quick bite first. Brandy Lee was a fantastic server, friendly and incredibly happy to help us out. Rushed our order and suggested next time we pre-order with our arrival time! Food was awesome, fresh and tasty. We will def be back! Good food. Good service. Was understaffed when we came but the wait was well worth it. We ordered spicy ramen, tempura, and unagi. The portion sizes are generous and all of our food was excellent.

I love their sushi, its definitely the best in town. My only issues are that with ordering take out-even if you call well ahead, be prepared to wait up to an extra 45 mins for your order. I've started calling at the time they've said it'll be ready, to check if it actually is before we go and have to sit outside for 45 mins. Small things get forgotten as well, like rice or miso thats supposed to come with a dish, so check before you leave.
That being said, the food is great and I'll continue to order! I know its tough right now, patience is definitely a virtue:)

I love this place, I would say this is the best sushi in Campbell River, and I'd highly recommend. Worth a visit.

Don't assume your customers don't speak Japanese. All we did was ask for no avocado on one of our rolls. The woman taking the order tried to suggest something else instead, the most expensive item in that section of the menu with the only ingredients in common with what we wanted being rice and nori. She then proceeded to have a shouted discussion with the kitchen from the register about it and how horrible no avocado was. When the food arrived, despite not being a spicy option, the food was so spicy it was inedible. Where do you get off telling customers what they want to eat and then intentionally screwing it up? We were considering making this our favourite restaurant in town and trying the one in Courtenay, but after this we will never be going back to either. The person you treated like trash is half Japanese and was raised in a Japanese household, they know what they like and are talking about. We were avoiding the spicy options because of a food allergy. That kind of service is just disgusting and you are lucky it's not the kind of allergy that causes anaphylactic shock.

Best Sushi in Town without any near concurrents, prices are good, staff is nice and food is amazing

Not only was the food excellent, the service was fast, the decor was perfect and the servers were obviously happy to work there. We will be back and bring some friends with us.

Despite my two troll like Children who arrived with attitude and “feelings” this restaurant was amazing. The food was very well presented and it all tasted delicious. Friendly staff in a great location with reasonable prices.

Food was good but service was horrible. We waited 20-25 minutes at least after we were seated to even have them come offer water or take our drink/food order.

Sushi Jo's was such a wonderful place to eat at. They had wonderful service and an outstanding selection of sushi and various other foods. When you go inside, you're given the option to sit in these classic booths, which adds a very cozy atmosphere to the experience. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.

First time at Sushi Jo's but not our last. The spicy tuna appy was absolutely perfect. So perfect I may order it for lunch tomorrow. We tried 4 rolls and all were amazing. Service was quick and fast. Restaurant is super clean and everyone including the chefs greet you when you walk in. Very very yummy. Can't wait to come back.

Although the food was amazing and super affordable, I won't make the mistake of going on a Friday night again. The staff are very friendly and did their best to keep up but the chef seemed preoccupied entertaing "personal guests".

The best sushi in Campbell River that I've had. Excellent service, affordable pricing, pleasant atmosphere and great food. If anything, I'd say the sushi pieces were TOO big (if there's such a thing)

Some of the beat sushi on the island. I used to go to their Courtenay location frequently before an arson forced them to close. So happy to see that they have reopened in Campbell River. I’ll be making the drive to get amazing sushi ️
