Sushi TonTon

This place is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. I'm not saying the food tastes bad, but it doesn't taste anything like Japanese food. I would describe it as a Japanese cuisine inspired Asian food. It is unique.

First time at Ton Ton Sushi, suggested by a friend. Very good service and clean environment. Easy to find free parking at the front or near by.

I order the Assorted Sushi, which was surprisingly big portion and good quality. It was so big I had to share it. For sure will go back again to try more dishes but with an empty stomach.

Favorite sushi I've tried so far in YVR. Super tasty and good presentation. Looked and tasted fresh too.

Ordered ubereats, my 1st order ever. Arrive fast.yes, good quality.yes, but I got no wasabi or ginger in my order. Called back and asked for some, they said they cannot do anything, no credit, no delivery. I ordered sashimi, the one item you cannot have with wasabi and Ginger. It wasn't about the $ but they could at least tell me that they will get me a free item next time or simply attempt to try and fix the problem, however they didn't. I couldn't finish my salmon as I need wasabi for pallet cleansing and add flavor. I ended up tossing a few pieces away. Very disappointing

Food was good, but service was not! It was not so busy but 3 waitresses were talking themselves in their language and we never get water refilled or get any service. Thats so unfortunate they only being nice just right before we paid the bill.

This is a western / Korean style restaurant. Domburi comes with the yam noodles and sauce. Some dishes are so saucy and don't taste like Japanese at all. I hope have less menu and focus on making each of them taste better.

I can’t stop taking about how much I loved this food. Best fish ever. And everything else on the menu looked great too.

Lots of great options if you are a vegetarian! The sushi was 10/10. Best sushi I’ve ever had for sure. The service was good & the food came fast.

Food is delicious and always consistent. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Always a pleasure to come there.

Had a California roll and a Dynamite roll that were good. Although my gyoza had a funny taste to it.

I was there last two weeks ago and I was eating my food and then i saw mouse playing around and I stopped eating and I left next time please guys take care of this problem! Thank you.

Finally tried Tonton a few weeks back, the sushi and the kimchi fried rice were good. Today I had the chicken katsu curry. I only give 3/5. I personally don’t like it when the skin is left on the chicken as it never renders down enough and the texture is gross. Also the spices in the curry sauce were a bit raw.

If I could give it a Zero I would.it was really bad that we had to throw away more than half of the order as it was smelly and really bad.
We had stomach pain after having it and other digestion problems.
I think its a food poisoning.be careful and dont order from here I am not sure how they got this rating.
It is really disgusting.

Wonderful place to come for dinner in the neighbourhood as it’s good food, good prices, good decor! In the evenings the service is good. (For lunch the service is a bit less attentive). It’s efficient and tasty!

This is our favorite sushi restaurant in Vancouver. Their veggie sushi is the best we've tried - every time we try another place, we always come back here. We normally order in, but we recently ate there in person and the restaurant itself is very nice!

I'd really recommend the double yam roll, mango mango roll, sunshine roll, and the tofu teriyaki. If you're vegetarian, definitely give this place a try!

The sushi was very tasty, about average for the region. Prices were great, good value for the amount. Service is relaxed so it's not always a quick meal. Close to the train station and very walkable to get to.

Delicious and great value for money. Perfect location as well (beside Queen Elizabeth park), and across street from the Canada Line. We had the spicy tuna oshi, beef hot pot and numerous veggie apps, rolls and tofu. I will definitely be back, great variety, full of flavour and fresh fresh fresh!

Easy to read menu. Had something I'd never tried before and it was well explained. Found a new favourite dish:).

Service was great, food was amazing and showed up quickly.

Heard great things so I stopped by with my boyfriend - we ordered the Salmon Teriyaki (really tasty and large salmon portions), the Caterpillar Roll (very crispy and yummy sauce), a Salmon Roll (very good!) and the Sushi Pizza (salmon was good, tuna was ok). Overall great experience and one of the better (decently priced) sushi places in Vancouver!

This is a great neighbourhood favourite. Consistently well prepared, nicely presented sushi and bento boxes at reasonable prices. Friendly, efficient service. Our server kept our tea cups filled. This is the place we come to when our family craves sushi.

If you're looking for authentic sushi and a variety of delicious choices, I recommend this restaurant. Very accessible too from the King Edward Station (Canada line) - Food is delicious and all the servers are very accommodating.

If you're just looking for western sushi, this place is ok. If you are looking to try Japanese dish, I do not recommend this place. It's owned by Korean and makes Japanese food in their own style. For example, domburi comes with the yam noodles and sauce. Some dishes are so saucy and don't taste like Japanese but I guess that's western or Korean style. I suggest them to focus on fewer menus that they understand what they're doing.

We ordered takeouts. The yam roll and tofu was dripping with sauce which make ruin any semblance of Authentic Japanese cuisine.

The ribs was floating on sauce.

Waste of money. Don’t be fooled by the pictures and social media marketing like I was.

Very easy online ordering, except I think I couldn't change the time of pick up.
We had chicken teriyaki, salmon nigiri and salmon and tuna avocado rolls.
It was absolutely delicious. The fish was very fresh and tasty.

One of my favourite sushi places. They have lots of good special rolls made with fresh ingredients and not too much rice. Mango mango roll is good if you like mango and beets. Red dragon is a great spicy roll too. Service is always good when I go to pick up my order.

The quality and the variety of sushi has greatly increased. Although it did get pricier over the years

Really questionable dish. Ordered creamy mentaiko udon and coming up with a really soupy sauce and sauce is not even fully absorbed with noodle.not even creamy at all.the leftover sauce is like a soup… asking the server and being told to that I should have request more dense udon next time… even paid $1 extra to get jalapeño to spice up, nothing much changes…my only favorite part is probably the garlic
Negitoro roll is just disappointing still finished the dish just cause I don’t want to waste money for empty stomach home. They even told people who try to order take out that they are sold out/can’t do takeout around 7: 30pm. They have huge rush today so it’s understandable but the same time it’s just weird and unorganized around the store

We went around 6: 30pm today and it was crazy busy. Usually they are not very busy around this time, but their take out section seemed completely packed. Our order came out a bit late than usual, but the food was great as always.

I was recently in Vancouver for the first time and as a sushi lover, I was really excited to find the perfect spot. Tonton was definitely it. I would highly recommend the salmon oshi.

Great reliable location with comfortable seating. I visit about once a month. They also implemented a new QR ordering system that really speeds things up.

Amazing quality, service and dine-in is a vibe. They play decent music and keep a very clean/aesthetic atmosphere. Definitely recommend.

A good Japanese restaurant. Nice place, nice food at a very reasonable price. Must try the sasime salad for $12.

This new sushi restaurant in New Westminster is now my favourite! Such a large selection of delicious items to choose from at very reasonable prices! My favorite is the Scallop Tataki roll!

Not happy with our experience. Went here to try and grab the kids lunch before catching a ferry. After ordering and paying, the cashier said it would be 20 - 25 mins. We couldn’t wait because we had to get to ferry in time for our reservation so asked to please cancel our order. The cashier didn’t know how to do it so we had to wait. Then she refunded us but we lost the tip I left. I asked her if it’d be possible to cancel our order entirely since we left a tip - it’s only been a couple mins and they hadn’t started our order. She said yes but continued to refund only the order and not the tip. It was annoying but we didn’t have time to argue. Disappointed in our visit. We’ve been there before and haven’t had the greatest experience with the sushi either but this visit left me not wanting to go back.

Ordered it tonight for take out. Very clean place, super nice staff, and the food was amazing. Will definitely return. Thank you!

Yes today i was taking out the left over sushi from my fridge and saw the sushi was moldy!? Absolutely disgusting that the food would go moldy after less than 12 hours and with it being kept in a fridge. Makes me think it was moldy when i was delivered to me yesterday which makes me feel sick! I will never come/order here again and would advise everyone to think twice before eating here. Management and food staff obviously dont care about food freshness or quality. STAY AWAY!

From a vegetarians perspective i would never order from here again. Maybe the other non veggie stuff is good but if youre veggie i would stay far far away because the food is obviously not fresh or they just dont care to put the effort into veggie rolls/dishes.

Been coming here for a while now. Consistently good! Sorry to see the bad reviews based on covid times. Still good, still fresh, still tasty! Can’t wait to visit soon. Thank you for your service and food!

My new to-go sushi place. I recommend ordering Fantastic Roll, Mango Roll, Unagi Bibimbap, TonTon Tower, Tuna Tataki Salad, Kimchi bacon mentaiko udon. So good.
There's also AC, so that's a plus.

Order two Oshi’s and a Yam Avo roll (Salmon and Hamachi) through UberEATs. Both of the Oshi’s were stale and thankfully we noticed that the fish was rancid before we had more pieces.
Normally TonTon has great sushi but today wasn’t a great experience.

Yam avo roll was the only thing that was good.

Also from a delivery standpoint, we ordered on a rainy day, cold weather and we are close by to the restaurant, I’ve ordered plenty of raw fish via delivery without issues, this time there was.

I will not be ordering again anytime soon unless it’s cooked food.

Mixed experiences at this place. Firstly I go here quite often and I find that some days the sashimi is thickly cut. And another day they are minuscule pieces of fish.otherwise food is consistently good. There was a time I ordered through their online website for pick up. Just to make things easier for me than calling in. And they had a 5% off pick up discount.but when I arrived there they said that it didn’t apply and I don’t get a discount though I spent over $90 and it was pick up. It never stated That online orders didn’t count. (This is not through a third party website but the sushi Tonton website).

I have to say, I really like their food and service. I am a huge fan of bento boxes and it's kinda difficult to find restaurants that offer one in the first place, versus having a tasty one. I don't have to look further, so thank you Sushi Ton Ton, if only you offered it for dinner as well. Right now the pandemic doesn't allow indoor dining so they do offer the bentos for takeout. When dining-in is allowed again I hope to have the bento for dinner one day in the actual restaurant. Put it in the to-go box if you have to.

Waited here for 20 minutes and then they again asked me to wait for another 25 minutes.courier please don't accept orders of this restaurant

On Father's Day I ordered online, the email response was that they were very busy and the pick up time was 60 mins. For good food, I'd wait. 60 mins later I went to pick up and was told it would be ANOTHER 30 mins. In fact, they hadn't even started the order. So I cancelled and went elsewhere. At some point they should stop taking orders or better still, let people know that they need more time.

A very solid, fail proof Japanese restaurant. They serve really fresh sashimi. Lots of choice for delicious sushi rolls, noodles, hot pot. Their sashimi salad is one of the best I have ever had, great portioning and full of favor. You get to pick out your own unique sake cup, it adds a very nice touch!

Amazing service! Avocado maki is my favourite! Very interested in more vegan sushi!
Not sure if the tempura is egg-free?

I've never had a bad experience here (only ordered take out FYI) and have ordered here at least a dozen times. The quality is always fresh and above all - consistent. The nigiri/sashimi is a bit more expensive than other places but the quality is fresh & tasty every time so i don't have a problem spending a little more. Yum!
