Sushi Well (Okonomi Sushi)

Sushi Well is new restaurant that opened here in New West, the staff are excited to be open and serving customers. I enjoyed my lunch, they filled my tea twice.

Food is always amazing! We barely ate sushi while they were closed.we were that dedicated lol. Staff super friendly above and beyond.

We went here for lunch at their new location. The service was amazing. Jenny and her team came by to check on us a few times making sure everything was good. The food was amazing. We got their sashimi Bento box, Stanley Park roll and few other things. The Stanley park roll was presented beautifully and so good.
The week earlier I ordered a take out. Jenny said would take about 45 min as restaurant was busy. I said I understand and that ok, I will cancel the order. She said let me talk to the chef. She came back on phone and said she will be able to accommodate me and be ready in 20-25 min.
That was amazing customer service.
Happy to see them in their new location (beautiful) and our new local NW sushi restaurant.

New Westminsters best sushi restaurant. Was closed for a bit while changing locations but it's back now! Maple roll is tasty AF.

I ordered the other day, nothing was “wrong” but it wasn’t great ether. I wanted to try a new place because I heard this place was worth trying. I don’t think I’ll do it again but the prices were fair, just the taste was a bit flat / stale.

I think I found my new favourite sushi spot. They have a wide sushi selection and their food is very delicious. They are well known for their vitamin-packed pink rice, which in my opinion was aesthetically pleasing and tasteful. I will definitely be going back.

The atmosphere is so warm and cozy. Such a great place to go and enjoy a meal with someone you care about. The food is delicious and they have their own trademarked sushi rice. It gives the sushi a distinct flavor that you don't get anywhere else. Went twice just to make sure it was just as good and it definitely still was. Take some time out of your day and pay them a visit. You won't regret it

Friendly service, good song selection (traditional Japanese music) and a fireplace to add to the already warm atmosphere created by the staff and owners.

It's by far the best sushi place in town!
Our favorite is the chirashi don and the freshness and quality of sashimi are always impressive.

The food here is absolutely delicious. Really one of the best I ever had.

Everything I've tried has been yummy! It is more expensive than average but I will continue to go there - just maybe not as often as I would like due to budget constraints.

I loved Sushi Well so much that I took my boyfriend here the week after. The spicy agedashi tofu is great. Soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. Their sauce is perfect, not too spicy. I actually said “Oh my gosh” out loud when the Bento C came out because the portions were huge. Very good value.

The second time I was here I also enjoyed their Salmon Combo and my boyfriend enjoyed his Dyna Roll Combo.

Will be back.

Asked for a reservation and right before the receptionist hung up the phone she swore at me in Korean.

Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurant Ive ever been to. Love the comfy sofa and delicious special rolls. The house special roll is totally worth a try, and it is very affordable, especially when it's on the daily special. Sushi is fresh and servers are generally nice.

The staff was absolutely kind, fast; and so friendly. The food… wow. The best presentation I’ve ever seen in New West. The biggest portions and the QUALITY was out of this world! I came with my mom and my grandpa; and we will ONLY come here when we’re in New West. Thank you again!

Ordered takeout…pretty average! Prawn tempura was crispy, and they offer salmon toro which many places don’t. Rolls were bland (e.g. Chopped scallop had no mayo, just dry scallops in hosomaki roll, Motoyaki portion was small and not flavourful for the price). Rice was under seasoned. Not terrible but would not order again, especially for the prices, which seemed much higher than average.

Quaint place, great miso soup and delicious food. The service was a little slow but friendly staff. Gluten free soya sauce available too

I didn't think much coming in, but the staff were friendly and attended to us right away. As we sat down, we were curious about the different type of vinegar they use in the rice making it purple. We tried it and honestly don't taste anything different. The food was good and met my expectation. Chicken skewer was kind of dry. Bonus was the deep fried ice cream that came with the combo.

Really like this place: the sushi is tasty, the service is fantastic, and they are very accommodating - I went here with a person in a wheelchair and they didn’t have any table free to accommodate a wheelchair, so they asked a settled group if they were willing to move so to make room for a wheelchair. That is going above and beyond in my opinion. They talk a lot about the benefits of the pink rice. I don’t think carbs are healthy to begin with, but it is still tasty sushi with plenty of options on the menu.

Came here with a company of three. Everything we ordered was very delicious and fresh. Servers are quick and courteous. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!

Visited here last night and had an amazing time! The employees and owner are extremely friendly and super welcoming and make sure you leave satisfied ^^
I love salmon so I got two salmon dishes - the tempura salmon had a really nice crust and the salmon was very tender.
The specialty salmon roll with pink rice was nicely flavoured and the rice was very soft and had its own unique taste due to their own patent for Pink Sushi Vinegar! It’s much more nutritional than regular vinegar and definitely worth a try! Tastes incredible!

Their tempura is very crispy and airy, just like how they serve in Japan. Sushi and service was great. Takoyaki tasted funny though.

Sushi Well was amazing, I wonder how can vegan actually enjoys a dining out, especially when it comes to sushi! Good staff, good food and good sake.

Excellent sashimi. Prawn tempura was light and crispy. Did not prefer the pink rice vinegar as I found it a bit too sweet, but that's my preference. Will definitely go back for the tempura and sashimi. Great friendly and efficient service.

The rice is some of the best I’ve had. Great presentation of the pink vinegar maki too. They also have a top 40 playlist composed of covers which creates excellent ambiance.

The food is amazing. Service is meh. One young girl didnt give us enough time to order, and ignored us when we were ready to order. As soon as the food came out, she asked if we want to receipt right away "one bill or separated? " She said she could bring the bill and we could pay later. Okay!? In the middle of the dinner, while we were having food in our mouths, she brought the machine to us and asked if we were ready pay.

I will suggest people to come here for food. However, the owner needs to look into that terrible service.

Good Japanese food - not just sushi, but also udon, tempura, gyoza, whatever. Also a good vibe, good service.

Sushi with a different flair. Some of the flavour palate is good and some personally I can do with out. Like gyoza deep fried no thanks and tempura sauce with cinnamon in it well for a bite or two its ok but not crazy about it after that. Try it you might like it.

I was surprised to find out that they use very nutritional pink sushi vinegar which they care about customers’ health! I had a few rolls, Karaage and chicken Yakisoba. All dishes were so tasty and the price was very decent. I will come back for more for sure. I really enjoy dining here and staff were very attentive. It was also very unique how they give you a wet towel (Oshibori). You must try place!

Food looked and tasted great. Server brought of last food item and within a minute asked of we wanted the bill. Initially I was confused, but figured I knew I wouldn't order anything else, so the bill was fine. Then a minute after I got the bill she brought the machine. I had barely got into my food! So rude. I felt very rushed.
Then, once we had finished, they ignored us for 12 minutes when we wanted to pay and leave. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

Delicious sushi and a very nice menu.we visited twice while in a 1 week vacation in Vancouver and in both visits everything was perfect. Kids adored it. Staff is super friendly.

Must go must go must go in New West! Best sushi I've been to. Lovely vibe (warm/funky, there was japanese pop playing and a fireplace) and the staff is so nice. They serve pink rice (healthier and patented) and one of the staff members came to explain to us what it was. The sushi was so delicious (we had the crazy girl roll and the double combo) and they have great beers too, on the frozen glass. I will DEFINITELY return!

Delicious food, beautifully presented for a reasonable price. My favourite is smoked salmon and mango roll. So may flavours. Care and attention to detail are evident. My favourite sushi place

Ordered some takeout and it never arrived so I guess I can't comment on if they can make good food or not. I'll order from one of many other great sushi restaurants next time. Terrible.

This place has replaced HiDozo as our go to sushi restaurant in uptown. Great - but more importantly, reliable - food.

Best sushi in metro Vancouver! Been a long time customer at this place and they were never disappointing. They have new special menu Oishi Hako rolls which come in different toppings- tried salmon and Saba, They are must try! Will be coming back for other flavors too

Good food, reasonable price, and moderate service equals satisfied customer. Local uni at $3.50 was fresh and creamy and highly recommended. The pink rice is a nice touch and visually attractive but I don't know if you can taste all the ingredients that are responsible for the color. Bento C at $18.50 is a good choice that includes a delicious well balanced soup but the beef teriyaki was the least favourite. The tempura was greasy like most of sushi bars. Salmon sashimi was nice and fresh but tuna had some silver skin that was unpleasant to chew on and wondered if that was even sushi grade. The ice cream tempura was nothing special. The batter was soft and mushy garnished by chocolate syrup. Overall, not a bad place to have some sushi every now and then if you're in the area. 4/5

Family owned sushi restaurant with healthy and yummy food! Prices are amazing - food quality is great. I’d suggest getting their “Cali Box” during the week day. Bunch of food, leaving you full, for $10 bucks. I can’t say anything bad about this place.

Open on Xmas day like any proper Asian restaurant, it was a good break before more turkey and stuff.

Sushi Well’s defining feature is their pink rice. Had I been paying better attention to their info sheet on it (it is vinegar rice infused with veggies and fruit instead of sugar in the standard sushi recipe, NOT just a short grain version of red rice) I would not have been so surprised that it was cold. It being my own fault, I warmed it up with my miso.

Service was quite friendly and reasonable in speed. Special orders were done accurately. Food hot (where appropriate) and tasty.

I can't say enough good about this place. Currently eating here and have never ate sushi so slow. Don't want it to end. The quality of their sushi is next level. They have the best nigiri. Perfect rice to fish ratio. Even their ginger and wasabi stand out. Excellent service and staff. The pink rice is just a bonus. Looks so cool

The uni and ikura Don was super fresh and comes with an amazing price! $18.95! I don't know anywhere that can beat their price with that quality!

This restaurant has amazing service. My family and I came here and a few of us had food allergies. The waitress, Helena, was absolutely amazing with making sure the food was suitable for us and really tried her best when checking ingredients in food we inquired about. You don’t get this kind of service at a lot of sushi restaurants unless you go to a place with much higher price point. I came back to this restaurant a few days later and was impressed again. Will definitely be returning as both service and portions for the price are great!

Honestly, the best sushi joint you can go to. Their pink rice makes it taste truly unique. And the staff and service is the best I have ever experienced.

This place is the best sushi in Uptown - great value for money (and the pink rice is pretty unique too!). The rolls feel great quality and the restaurant is never crazy busy. Polite service.

First time here and I was impressed. The place was clean and the staff were friendly. Price was reasonable, and the rolls were huge. The special course A was so worth it! All in all, will be back to try new items

Cozy little restaurant with friendly and attentive service. The pink rice was interesting and didn't take away from the traditional taste (not completely sold on the "experimental" health benefits). Prices were decent and the quality of the food was good. The Sushi Well Special Roll was worth the purchase in my opinion.

The environment was pleasant and the staff were friendly. I believe there are better sushi places around (and for a better price) but if you're looking for something quick and close to home it's not a bad option.

Easily the best Sushi in New Westminster. The Pink Rice is neat and they claim there are added health benefits. Fresh ginger. Great value and delicious rolls - the Mango Smoked Salmon is our favourite, plus they deliver on DoorDash!

I love this place. Taste good, price and service were nice too. However, waiting time for food could be better.

Food was great. The waitresses were a bit disorganized as we had already ordered and another lady came up and asked what we would like to order. Not much communication between waitresses. It can get very loud at times, which can kind of disturb from the food.
