The maintenance team, and renovation team were great and show their professionalism in installations. Swift Rent: A Rental Nightmare

Renting a property should be a straightforward and trustworthy process, ensuring a comfortable living environment for tenants. However, my experience with Swift Rent has been the complete opposite. From the very beginning, I've been subjected to a series of issues that have left me frustrated and questioning the integrity of this rental agency.

1. Contract Errors and Incomplete Documents

The problems started with rental contracts filled with errors and missing crucial information. These contracts, meant to clarify our rental agreement, were haphazardly put together. This lack of professionalism was just the beginning of a long and frustrating journey.

2. Inconsistent Document Requests

Swift Rent's document requests were erratic, with them asking for various documents at different times. This inconsistency caused confusion and unnecessary delays, revealing a lack of organization and respect for their tenants' time.

3. Frequent Office Visits for Basic Necessities

Obtaining the keys to the property was an ordeal, requiring multiple visits to their office. This inconvenience was both time-consuming and frustrating.

4. Broken Promises on Property Condition

Upon moving in, I expected a clean, fully furnished property as per our agreement. Instead, I found a dirty, partially furnished space with a revolting mattress. Swift Rent's failure to deliver on their promises regarding property cleanliness and furnishing was deeply disappointing.

5. Neglected Maintenance Issues

Maintenance problems became a recurring issue. Broken curtains, a malfunctioning showerhead, and a faulty kitchen sink were among the issues I faced. Swift Rent's response was disheartening, with repairs delayed or outright denied, leaving me to live with these inconveniences for extended periods.

6. Mishandling of Security Deposit

The mishandling of my security deposit was another concern. After a year with a friend on the lease, I took over the property, but Swift Rent retained my deposit and failed to update the lease accordingly.

7. Incorrect Lease Agreements

Even when updating the lease, Swift Rent repeatedly sent incorrect documents, requiring me to contact them multiple times to correct their mistakes.

8. Consistently Late Rent Collection

Rent collection was consistently mishandled, with payments often collected late, sometimes up to 15 days behind schedule. Their excuses eroded my trust in their professionalism.

9. Unreasonable Rent Increases

Swift Rent subjected me to unjustified rent increases during my lease term, straining my already stressful experience.

10. False Accusations and Misrepresentation

One of the most troubling aspects was Swift Rent's false accusations and misrepresentation of my behavior. They falsely claimed the landlord was displeased with me and that there were complaints from fellow building residents. These allegations lacked evidence, and my 12-year history in Canada showed no prior complaints.

11. Pressure to Vacate and Arbitrary Rent Increases

Swift Rent consistently pressured me to vacate the property and agree to rent increases, leaving me feeling coerced and without viable options due to time constraints.

12. Unresolved Deposit Issues

As my lease ended, I expected my $1000 security deposit back. However, Swift Rent failed to return it, citing unexpected lies and excuses.

In conclusion, my experience with Swift Rent has been a nightmare. Their consistent lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for tenant rights has made a simple rental agreement a painful and unjust ordeal. I share this complaint to warn others against Swift Rent. No tenant should endure such a distressing experience while seeking a place to call home.

I received excellent and attentive service from Reza. He was very responsive, detailed, and organized and kept me updated every step of the way. He also gave a presentation on the buyer's process and made sure that I understood everything that was going to happen. All stages of the purchase progressed efficiently and on time. Reza provided sound advice and spent more than three hours on one occasion going through all the records of the apartment as well as the strata to make sure we’re not missing anything. As a first-time homebuyer, I absolutely felt supported by Reza and his team and I could trust them fully to help me navigate all the ins-and-outs of buying a home.
