Swiss Village Inn

Room was clean, front desk was pleasant and efficient. Room was a bit dated in some aspects (shower head was horrible, but you could tell there was some pressure behind it). We were in a double queen room, if you have small animals (medium to large cat or smaller), the box spring closest to the bathroom has the fabric loose from the bottom. If your animals are curious like mine, they will climb up under the edge and hide under the bed. Very annoying situation when you're trying to pack up to head out in the road. Overall, things were fine.

AVOID this place! Extremely poor service. Bookings get canceled.

The room itself was not terrible, went to use the shower and the shower head fell off and hit my fiancé in the back of the head. It was nearly impossible to track someone down to inform them of this so we could get a room with a working shower. The next room we checked into also did not have a working shower. The third room did. Through all the moving rooms I left an item in the first room and did not notice until morning. Tried for 45 minutes calling and banging on the front desk door until finally someone woke up and argued with me that they were not open, I let them know the situation and she was still rude about it. Would not recommend.

Very friendly and accommodating. Willing to ensure a booking even very late at night when it would be past normal check in times. Thanks again!

Amazing customer service, we were stuck at Golden due to avalanche warnings, the front counter service gave us the largest room they had and offered us a full refund after we realized we didn’t need it. One of the few happy moments to our otherwise miserable Christmas Day.

Little backstory:
Christmas time and we are stuck in Golden waiting for highway 1 to open. (closed due to avalanche clearing)

We decide that we should probably spend the night at a motel instead of inside our vehicles. A couple hours later, the road clears and now we don't need to stay at Golden anymore. We go back to the motel and ask the attendant for a refund. We got our refund which normally doesn't happen with these establishments.

Review:
The rooms were very nice especially for a motel.
The service was friendly, professional and understanding
The location is actually pretty prime, between Petro Canada and Shell. Also very close by to a Chinese restaurant and a local diner.
The price was $78 for a single night with an additional cost of $10/person.

If you choose to stay in Golden, I'd recommend staying at this motel.

Room was 68$ (not 1$ more worth), 2 dogs (labrador) 50$!

Made an online booking and only said pet friendly. No word about the rip off.

When I said I find that steep the answer was "feel free to go somewhere else".

Let’s start with the picture of the sign about dishes. How many ways is that wrong? It’s certainly not Covid safe, and one can only shudder at what might have been rubbed on the rim of a glass if the wrong person occupied the room before you. There is no wrapped plastic glass provided. There is no coffee provided. There is no ice bucket provided. The grime on our couch is old enough to vote. We’d booked two nights a month ahead of our visit, pay on arrival. I’d honestly forgotten about the second night, so I phoned a day ahead to add one because the price shown on the web was quite low.
When brought to the proprietor’s attention, he dismissed it as though I was spinning some tale to try to fleece him or something. The reality is that this innkeeper appears to be interested in little else but maximizing his take from every guest.
Avoid at all costs.

Rooms are decent and clean. However, no working Hot tub or cable in my room. When I talked to the front desk, no solution or care was given. This place will cost you $200 a night after taxes. Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. Terrible service.

Really disgusting and dirty hotel. We needed a place in a pinch, just a complete mistake.

We paid a reasonable price. The AC was awesome, motorcycle friendly motel. The rooms are dated, but VERY clean. I’d stay here again.

Although the beds were clean and comfortable, the room smelled of stale cigarettes. The furniture and carpet were very stained, the bathroom sink flooded and there were no coffee makers or hairdryers in the room. Would not stay here again.

Clean rooms. Breathtaking views. Picnic tables for those sick of dining indoors or in a car. Staff was helpful. All that is needed are chairs for people to sit outside of their rooms!

This place is a good value, staff are friendly, rooms are tidy, quiet and comfortable and it's in a convenient location with easy parking close to the room.

The place was clean but they could use a newer bed than the one we stayed on. But overall it was pretty good.

The mid century modern furniture, the faux mahogany floors, the spring bed. What a perfect time capsule!

No smoke smells, clean sheets, clean pillows, clean pillow covers. This place is spotless.

I loved every second of the experience, I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

The room is a little dated but nice. We didn't have any particular problems aside from the mini fridge freezer being frosted over. (Beds were neat, water was hot, nothing dirty) we brought a dog with us and the room charge is on the high side, 25$ And it also would have been nice to have a room guide to tell us useful info. (Which channels available on tv, where to put dog bags, hours of hot tub and sauna, points of interest, etc.)

Have stayed in the Swiss village inn almost every year I make a trip to Alberta I stay on the way there and on the way back beautiful BC location and awesome ppl will be back soon

Friendly & accommodating front desk, fast efficient to get you set up, cost effective, pet friendly, clean room, easy parking, close to amenities and comfy bed.

It isn't champagne, complementary breakie or fine dining no but if your looking to rest your head that won't break the budget than it fits the bill.

Golden to Revy closed after 7pm, and reopens at 5am (also road conditions not worth the risk). This is exactly what I needed to get some rest to start fresh tomorrow.thank you for the quality service and definitely recommended.

Side note:
Walls a little thin so if you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs.

Really clean, super comfy beds. More up-to-date than photos reflect. Water pressure in the shower was great. Pillows are hard and tall - we brought our own.

New white linens which is an improvement from the older photos. My room had a fridge which was great, and the shower was hot with great pressure. Front desk was also friendly.
Cons. Wifi average to bad, walls very thin, place smelled like pot everywhere, bathrooms very dated, only a few channels seemed to have volume which was weird.
If my other 2 budget hotels were booked up, I would stay here again.

I had to cancel my credit card because this owner after e-mailing him 3 times and calling numerous times refused to send me a cancellation request. 2 times he hung up on me when I requested this information and was very rude. Not until I told him I was canceling my card, did he send me a cancellation 10 days later.he only canceled 1 nights stay out of the 4 I asked him to cancel. Beware of anybody that has your personal info and treats you like this.

Amazing place to stay. We stay 2 nights. No pets, no breaksfats, but anyways great service room. Very clean and confortable rooms. Just 55 per night. I recomended

Great place to stay, staff is very kind and accomodating. Lost one star as my room was kind of outdated and there was no coffee maker.

Hot tub was cold beds are hard as a rock rooms smell bad customer service is terrible not wanting to do anything for us when we had problems

Great motel which we turned up to without prebooking. Clean, comfortable, good heating system and hot drinks were available free of charge:)

It's small motel, ok to have a sleep and go ahead to wherever you are heading. The jacuzzi is cold, but the sauna makes up for it. Reception person is helpful and nice to deal with.

Clean. Friendly people. No coffee or continental breakfast though. Close to fast food, regular restaurants and coffee shops. I would recommend this place

The individual at the front desk reception was very helpful and informative. The rooms were a bit outdated, but were clean. The cost of the room was very reasonable in comparison to what other hotels were charging.

Cheapest rates and convenient location, but what's the difference between the website single $89 & $109 rooms in September? Definately seen better days. Definately not neat and tidy like Swiss Inns in Europe. Scent of disinfectant on entering room. Standard metal room key, cheap door knob - no security. Mattress was worn out, soft & held together by a metal rod around the rim. Bedside lamp did't work. Doors don't lock automatically - you need to push in the knob. Faucet filter plugged - water sprays all over sink. Counter had previous occupant's soapy water marks that had not been wiped clean. Wall thermostat cover missing. Lots of overpaint on shower, countertop & door trim. Hole in the wall below the window. Cheap window coverings, not even hooked properly. AC wall unit worked fine. TV worked. I won't be staying here again! Legends '50s diner across parking lot. Tim's, Dairy Queen & MacDonalds nearby.

I went to have a bath after checking in about 6: 30 pm. The tub had not been cleaned. I called the front desk to ask to have it cleaned. A very disgruntled employee came, did not clean it properly at all, didn't know how to actually, and told me I could leave if I didn't like it.

Drove through from Revelstoke as I didn't want to be held ransom for the room rates there.
Stopped here, and was slightly surprised how expensive this place was.
No coffee pot in the room, had to unplug the noisy bar fridge, no continental breakfast (or coffee even) in the morning.
Place NEEDS upgrading.

Didnt clean our rooms at all, Cant even get clean towels unless u go to the front desk, beds are uncomfortable, everything seems like ita from the 70s I will never stay here again dont waste your money go someplace else

Room was very hot, windows wouldn't open and fan blew warm air. Also found hairs on the pillow when we first got there. Would not recommend staying here for the price they charge.

I have 2 main complaints - the wifi was weak and I would lose the connection once in a while. The other problem was the water temperature in the shower. It went back & forth from too hot to too cold. It was less expensive that other hotels but I don't recommend it. Stay somewhere else!

The rooms were big and being pet friendly is nice, but the pillows had hair on them and a used facecloth was hanging from the shower curtain when we checked in. The mattress was hard as a rock as well. I’ll spend my money elsewhere next time we’re in town.

Not a good night for me. Plumbing from other rooms was noisy and you could really hear people walking around upstairs. Bedding was not soft - it felt dry and scratchy and smelled really strongly of bleach.

Been here a week for work, never changed our garbage, never changed our towels, rooms smell funny, everything is from the 1970’s and the bed is hard as a rock! Customer service is next to non existent. Really don’t recommend staying here, you will enjoy your vehicle better. No joke

Sheets were stained and had hair on them - clearly not washed. Beds are super hard and uncomfortable. The room was run down and outdated, not enough toiletries. The price was cheaper than other in the area but not worth the what we paid.

I gave this 2 stars because it is what it says budget motel with simple rooms. Unfortunately it was very run down. Rooms were clean but old and well used. Both ice machines were broken. The hot tub was hot but in bad shape. If it wasn't the only place to accept a dog we would have gone some where else. Will not return.

Cheap, hot water, comfy bed, no bedbugs, free cable and wifi. Decor is out of the 80s, but Great hotel on a budget.
