Good selection of drinks and the owner Arman’s a chill good guy, had a nice chat with him today

Nice convenience store that sells various kinds of things ranging from snacks to frozen foods and groceries. I visited here only for snacks, but other products they sell also looked good.

I'm disappointed. While the store and its merchandise look nice, I felt obligated to buy something and chose to get a croissant with meat and cheese, which was behind glass like at a deli. I gently let an older man know I wanted to buy it but he very quietly mumbled and seemed to want me to ask at the cashier, where I paid $5.99 plus tax ($6.29) for what seemed to be the cheapest ingredients: 3 mm cheese slices and ham, both of which could have been No Name; and a croissant, which could have been purchased in a No Frills bakery section. The young man at the cash register walked over to the deli area and put the sandwich in a warmer, I guess, then walked away. A minute or two later, he came back, put the croissant in a paper bag, and gave it to me. It was HOT! But by the time I got outside, put on my sunglasses, and removed my face mask, it was cool enough to eat. The cheese and ham were cold.

This is one of the cheapest sandwiches I've ever paid money for yet it cost over $6.

The service I received was muddled, complacent, dismissive, and lazy. The younger man who rang me up and warmed up the sandwich seemed to have the air of assuming he was going to take over the business one day without making anything more of himself. Like he was stuck in the 60s, 70s, or 80s or I was in a made for TV gangster movie.

Months ago, I stepped into this same store and asked about their hours. A very nice older woman spoke with me and I told her enthusiastically that I'd come back during her hours, grateful they had the sense not to be open all night so close to the downtown eastside.

But while the look of the place is good and the selection of merchandise seems good, the one thing I chose to buy was not good and I paid more for it than I wish I had since it was of such low quality. Plus, the younger man who helped me seemed like he'd be out of place working anywhere that service, courtesy, and basic consideration were valued.

I will not be coming back.

This is miles away from coffee bar or coffee shop. This is 7/11 style shop with one dirty table to sit and sip your 7/11 style drink called coffee.

The people here are very very kind and just a refreshing way to be greeted

This little shop has a great selection of snacks and imported and local drinks. Folks running the business are so lovely as well.
