Tacofino

Tacofino has ruined fish tacos planet-wide for me. I can't order them in any other restaurant, anywhere, no matter how much I want them. EVERY other fish taco made by any other kitchen is inedibly subpar. And now, when the craving hits (it hits really hard sometimes) I can't go to a restaurant in town, I have to drive two hours west or two hours south to get them.

It took us almost an hour and an half to get our food. It’s January and can’t imagine coming here in summer

Watch for the seaguls, they steal the food out of your hand nearly. Its a long wait time to get the food. Delicious food but you can order online now.

Be ready to wait 2 hours to get the wrong order then miss the sunset. The food quality is comparable to any other forgettable taco stand.

The food was good but the wait for it was almost 2.5 hours… it’s definitely not spectacular enough for that. The wait to order was 50 min. Was told the wait for food would be 30min but it took 1 and 1/2 hours. And this was in winter - so not peak season. It’s definitely something to keep in mind if you plan to go. I would never go back for this reason.

Sure the tacos and burritos are great but you can find good food without having to wait an hour.

The person who took our order said it would take 30 mins.but the wait was two hours - 45 minutes in line and a 1 hr 15 min wait for the food. If they had told us it would take this long, we wouldn't have ordered.

Would have loved to have tried Tacofino since while we were waiting in the line, the employee said it was the best one of the franchise; frankly, I find that hard to believe. Showed up to a small scattered crowd of people with people waiting for food? To order? No clue. There is no organization to this location, and it was during the quiet off-season. There is no indication of where to order or line up. We waited for 20 minutes and never was once acknowledged, even standing in front of someone handing out food. A couple of other groups came in behind us. After 25 minutesof waiting, the window popped open, and the last people in line were the first to order because of how the que had formed. We left after that. Went next door to the Wildside Grill in the same plaza. It wasn't busy, but the food was tremendous!

Staff are not nice and don’t care at all. Food always makes me feel gross after. I promise you can still have a good Tofino trip without going here!

I had heard a lot about Tacofino, so I thought I'd give it a try. The food was really good, although a bit expensive in my opinion. There was quite the wait for the food - even in the winter time, which I think was due to little staff. Definitely would still recommend giving it a try, as it's well known and the food is good.

Waited over 2 hours for our food, when we got it the order was wrong, food was cold and pork was tough/chewy. Been here a couple times over past few years but this visit killed tacofino for us. They need to hire more staff so they can have a dedicated person handing out food.

Not worth the wait. Queue was terribly managed with over an hour wait. Go in Vancouver instead where it’s table service

Given the amount of time it took to produce four tacos, it was absolutely not worth it. Over two hours waiting—totally unacceptable. We’ve been here many times over the years and never intend to return.

Do not come here, there's better ways to spend your time than standing in line in the cold for 2 hours to get 2 tacos. Overhyped for no good reason! It's definitely not worth the wait one bit, food is very average, we got the vegetarian tacos and cheese gringas. They set the wrong expectation as well saying that it would take around 30 minutes, and ended up taking 2 hours. Extremely poor service!

Tourist trap unfortunately- better food at the other food stall in the same lot. Staff are lazy and incredibly slow (~1hr wait for burrito). Just go to the one in Vancouver

The food truck is a great addition to Tofino. There was an anticipation whilst waiting in line. Food was great and service was nice and I loved the atmosphere as there were many people having fun and enjoying the experience.

Love y’all, great tacos & burritos, but if you’re going to close at 5: 30pm please don’t say you’re open until 6pm (or 7pm).

Truly worth the hype. I had the grilled chicken burrito, it was amazing. Just be warned it's quite a wait. You'll likely wait in line to put in your order and then it's at least 20 minutes before your order is ready. There's some other shops you can check out in the area while you wait though!
