Bought a tent from here several years ago and got a lifetime warranty after the 3 time I took the tent in to be resealed because the sealing strips kept falling off after it got wet from the rain they refused to fix it and changed me for the repair

This outdoor clothing outlet is absolutely the best.
I live in Nova Scotia, and it is a lot colder than Vancouver. I ordered 5 balaclavas for Christmas presents.
The service was stellar,
they let me know when it shipped, and it arrived quickly, and
packed well, too. Bang on. 5 out of 5.
I will continue to use Taiga because the quality of their merchandise is great, and their clothing is manufactured here in Canada. That is becoming a rarity, nowadays.
And the balaclava I am using is a godsend! Beautiful red balaclava. I get a LOT of compliments.
Support Taiga, if you love Canada. Their stuff is GREAT.

Wife bought a jacket for chrismast.
6 week later the zipper broke. She did not wear it all the time, just few occasion, even then, zipper should last way more then 6 week.

They refuse to exchange, she had to covet the repair cost. When she got there they wanted more then want they quoted on the phone.

Paying to fix a new jacket that you just bought.they're not cheap either.

So huge disappointment there, she still like her jacket.

Sports store is a bit of an overstatement.
This is the "showroom" for the factory and it is quite small and limiting compared to normal stores.

Taiga makes some unique/traditional clothing and sleeping bags. And in many ways these are specific "classes" of these items to taiga.

Sleeping bags are fairly traditional and good value

Other stuff is mostly traditional. And here traditional probably means thicker heavier tougher than a lot of newer products.

For example. Polar fleece. I have not seen stuff so thick in a long time. This stuff will actually keep you warm.

Fashion this is not. But functional this is.

It's a little out of the way, and they may not always have the size or color of the item you want if it's at the end of the season. But the value is hard to beat for Canadian made clothing. Call before making the trek to see if they have the item in stock.

Great company. Have mail-ordered several things in past years. Finally got a chance to visit in person and very pleased that I did. Came home with three items for me and five items for my wife. Great quality products for a fair price. Will definitely be visiting again.

They have the best customer service, the most knowledgeable people, very friendly and polite staff.

Although it may sound like a criticism I kind of wish I had bought one with the vented back as I get warm quite easily in this beautiful jacket

Still wondering WHERE to purchase the special washing detergent as ordinary detergents can ruin the GoreTex!

I am making that my priority to seek out as warmer weather will soon see the jacket put away until the fall season

Let me begin by saying I like the products they sell as they are made in Canada and believe we should support local businesses. I bought a whole kayak package from them before, have been a long time subscriber of their marketing list and have referred many of my friends here.

Today I received a promotional email from these guys which had a lengthy message about the war in Ukraine, I won't repeat it because I believe it's simply a very wrong way of thinking. Effectively the message plays off people's fear of Russia and China and then concludes that we should all buy Canadian. As I mentioned in the beginning, I'm all for buying Canadian and supporting local and domestic business. However I will NOT be supporting businesses that spread messages of fear that potentially inspire hate crimes, especially with the all-time high level of hate crimes in our communities recently. To me messages like these are no different than war profiteering and that is simply the wrong approach and, ironically, not characterist of Canada at all.

I will be taking my business elsewhere that do not rely on fear and suffering in other parts of the world in order to sell their products.

Was having a problem finding that "just right" cold weather bag. Called these guys on a recommendation and the customer service was amazing. Ordered a bag while on the phone, and it was delivered the next day (Vancouver to Victoria). Really great experience and a phenomenal product. Thanks Taiga. I had a bit of an issue returning my kayak floor but I felt like it was a miscommunication after speaking with the manager and employees about it.

I own a few pieces of tiaga gear. I couldn't be happier with my& down sleeping bag and the merino t-shirts are sooo soft they feel great.
My only issue is the elastic band on the merino underwear is not the most comfortable thing.

Cut of jackets is horrible, sleeves are way oversized and shoulders fold over instead of laying natural. Could not find a ski jacket that fit properly and no boxing day sale? Guy who answered phone said they were having sales but prices were the same as 2 weeks earlier, wasted time. Sizing is bad also, I'm a large but can somehow fit into a small (tight on torso) that should not be possible! Shows how loosely they cut shoulders and arms. They need new pattern for their coats.

Bought the Downlite Down Jacket as well as the Polartec 300 Fleece Jacket, both in small and colour olive. Price is very reasonable for the superb craftsmanship on both the jacket and fleece. The jacket will no doubt brave Toronto's winter this year!

Good price, selection, and staff. Top quality. Well worth a visit, if you are shopping nearby for outdoor clothes or equipment.

A variety of sleeping bags and waterproof jackets are amazing with excellent design and craft. The quality is so good but price is low compared to other brands.

Called ahead to ask if a product was in stock. The service representative was kindly enough willing to call me back to let them know.

Great selection, great products, great price. My new place to shop for jackets and rainwear. A much better deal than at the large mountain retail place.

Too warm inside. I was sweating by the time I left. Only one cashier working on till and not one person asked if we needed help looking for a cycling jacket. Plus the parking in the back was full with other people's cars not shopping there because we were two of three people inside.

We try to shop Canadian, but I think that next time we will shop on line. Better service and we can search out all the details in front of the reading notes. Sorry for your loss.

Merino and the goosedown products Taiga produces is really top quality product. They also have great waterproof jackets if you can find your fit.

Taiga store has gone down.
Bought an extra large taiga rain jacket and tried to get the fleece shell vest for the same size XXL.they do not make them anymore. Only XL. So I have to go and get one somewhere else and will not be able to zip it on.simply disappointed.

This is a tough one. The equipment is actually really good. Very well made, and at a good price. They did not have what I came in for, which is fair enough. The staff were able to tell me when they were expecting more. But then they proceeded to do a very hard upsell. Very insistent and pushy.
Like I say, the equipment is good quality and fair price. Be prepared to deal with the aggressive staff if you do not buy anything.

I was looking for a durable portable kayak in Toronto but the local pricing was absurd! Found this store by googling and was impressed by their range of kayaks. Very knowledgable staff helped pick the best one for me. Love my Advanced Elements Advanced Frame Sport Kayak!
