Definitely good corean food! Special highlight for the pork cutlet and seafood pancake, both were incredibly delicious. The menu does not have a big list of options but are enough to not get lost, I prefer that way. Affordable prices compare to downtown Vancouver. Service was fast and accurate. It is one of those places that does not look fancy but has the most important thing what matters in a restaurant which is great food. I would love to go back to explore other options in the menu even though the commute is really far from my home, probably next year during a more shiny and warm season like spring or summer so I can try the cold noodles.

Here is my favorite place to have cold noodle. I think here is better than some cold noodle place in Korea. But I put out one star, because the amount of pork cutlet is reduced significantly. But the same price. I know these days are hard to run a business, disappointing to me. Taste is the best.

Amazing food overall, but especially their cold noodles, it's amazing. Price is decent too!

It was a bit muggy and stuffy in the hall, but
I wasn't feeling well, but after eating gamjatang and pork cutlet, I was drenched in sweat and eating well.
I'll go again next time~

We used to like to visit this place for cold noodles but yesterday, we had a terrible experience. The waitress served us with a tiny table for 2 people. We ordered pork bone soup and beef bone soup. We saw the waitress served one of our soups to the wrong table. A moment later, the customer on the other table checked the soup and called the waitress to say that it's not his order. Surprisingly, that soup was served to our table again. We asked why the soup is not hot enough (to mention that this soup was served to the other table) and the waitress just smiled and ignored us and walked away. We were upset but we decided to stay and eat. After 2 stone rice bowls were served, there were not enough space to put them. Since there were 3 empty bigger tables and no one was waiting, we asked if we could move to one of the empty tables and what she said was it’s a rule that once they serve customers to the table, they are not allowed to change the table. What kind of rule is that? Those empty tables were not used until we were leaving. So, we asked to take the rice stone bowls away without eating them. At the cashier, we mentioned we can't give tips and we were asked what was wrong. Once the cashier heard what had happened and she only charged us one soup but still I don't think we will visit here again.

I love their pork cutlet and spicy thin noodle. They are well known for their soups among Korean. Giving 3 stars due to their service, but their food deserves 4 or more stars.

Food is really good but the service wasn’t good.
Came around 4: 15PM and the staff were on their lunch break. They seated us and told us that they’re still eating so they will take our order in 15 minutes.
I understand the staff need break/lunch time but they should close the restaurant for that time if they’re not going to be operating. About 4 tables were just seated and waiting for the staff to finish eating.

We ordered by phone. Apr 23. They told us wait outside until we call you to say that the food is ready for pickup. We waited from 6: 45 to 7: 30 nobody called. It was a busy day for them. We could see that all tables inside were taken. We were not sure what to do. Eventually couldn't wait any longer. One of us went inside to investigate another 15 minutes passed till he could get a hold of one of their crew. She asked for our phone number and found the order on their system. Without any explanation or apologizing for their terrible customer service, she simply brought up the credit card machine and asked for the payment... She couldn't speak English well. Our friend paid for the order and was told to wait another 10 minutes. Finally we got our food at 8pm. An hour and 15 minutes after we ordered... We took the expensive dinner home and just realized that they were really not fair with the amount of meat or seafood in stew or any one of our 6 orders... Everyone was hungry so they just wanted to have their dinner and not complain... I was the host and extremely disappointed and embarrassed... For example the seafood tofu soup was full of onion, tofu but almost no seafood. Only one small muscle, 4 tiny shrimp. That was all... I understand that any restaurant gets too busy or too quiet sometimes and it's hard to predict how much food to prepare, but that's not an excuse to serve just a little food because you don't have enough for every order. Best solution is to Not Accept any more orders when you know that you won't have enough food left... We will never order from this place ever again... I think they should be ashamed and actually return our money because we were charged but they didn't provide... Extremely disappointed.....

Naengmyeon is alright. Noodles are good, broth is flavorful, just not my personal preference on taste.

You already know it’s a good place when you see it’s packed with Koreans inside in a little strip mall. Fast and efficient service, needless to say good food.

Favors are bit to light for me but quality of the food and portion are great. Service is always good.

Oh my goodness. This is the place to come if you want that authentic simple Korean ox bone soup. I love the super simple menu and deep rich flavours of the broth. Definitely a great choice for a cold day!

They have the best kimchi here. Small menu but good all traditional Korean food. The ladies are always busy yet very friendly and caring. This place definitely will be my regular spot.

Taste was 100% authentic and tasty! The soups were on point and the seafood pancake was perfectly crispy outside while still soft inside. Only slight downside was service was a bit lacking.

Homey Korean flavours at Tangmaru in Port Moody.

I was extremely sad when it temporarily shut its doors during COVID last year - not because it doesn’t get business… this spot is PACKED with customers during lunch and dinner, but because it’s our go to spot for 감자탕 or Pork Bone Stew.

It’s such a great spot but it always slips our mind when we’re thinking of where to eat glad to have went the other day.

As always, we ordered their specialty, the Pork Bone Stew, and a Katsu as well. Notable mention goes to their KIMCHI. If y’all like young kimchi, this is for you. I prefer mine more aged but this was quite addicting.

They were my favourite Korean restaurant, since the most recent days, I placed an order through the phone. They confirmed my order and told me to pick it up after 30mins. When I got outside the restaurant, I received their phone call to say my orders were sold out. Really! Do you need to wait for 30 mins to tell me my orders sold out?

We love their signature porkbone soup but when we don't feel like working hard to get the meat, ddukbaegi bulgogi is a good option. Donkkaseu and spicy cold noodle (seasonal) are awesome too. Their pajeon is another level. Flavors are consistently great and they serve the best kimchi in Vancouver

Every time I miss Korean food (from Korea). I go to Tang Maru. They have excellent traditional Korean food. The soups are always perfectly SIZZLING hot and the stone pot RICE is excellent as well! If you want some authentic hearty yummy Korean food at a decent price. Tang Maru is the place to go. The interior may not be top notch but the food definitely makes up for it.

Cold noodles in the summer are the best here! The noodles are made in house and the broth is flavourful. We always end up ordering too much because our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. The pork katsu is also really good here. Big cut of pork, nicely breaded and fried. Large portions for really good prices!

Not a bad location for Korean stews. Service was excellent and extremely friendly. By far one of the best levels of service when considering the number of Korean food places. That fail to do this properly. Would have to say it's on par with wangama on north road that I've been going to for the last 10 plus years. The stews are flavorful. The seafood pancake is full and crispy. Only dish that failed to meet a good level of acceptance and deliciousness was the tonkatsu. Wouldn't recommend this. The sauce is not quite right and the meat not as tender. The rice was warm to cold but the salad was fine. Their signature stew was excellent as was their everything stew. Will try their number 2 stew on the menu next time. Reccomend a visit for sure.

This, my friend, is how you make a good gamjatang for a great price. This is the my favourite Korean restsurant in Port Moody, no, in the entire GVR. I've gone three times and can't wait to go again. The spices and flavour from the soup is perfectly accented. It has the right amount of spices & heat. The meat from the pork bone delicately comes off. It's seriously a little bit of heaven each mouthful. A very nice touch is they use stone bowls to cook the rice. I thought this was common, at leastKorean restaurants in Toronto, but it seems to be a rarity in GVR.so you get this thin crispy layer of rice at the end of your meal. Scoop out the rice and place in the soup to allow the rice to absorb all that flavour. You'll get this fantastic crispy texture, taste and satisfaction as you finish off your dinner.

There is a section in the menu where you can order side dishes for an extra cost, but the lady who serves us always stops by and offers more sides for free.

Best place in town to get Korean beef tendon, best enjoyed by ordering the "everything soup" aka mo-deum tang. If you like cartilaginous textures, you'll love this. Can get really busy. Also great for other "tang" dishes as well as Korean cold noodles in beef broth aka naeng-myeon.

Best 감자탕 in town with the best 김치 I ever ate in BC and professional and friendly staffs. Two thumbs up!
18 October 2019 17:22
I ordered a cold noodle soup & pork cutlet. Those were delicious as I heard from my friends. I strongly recommend here to you guys to try both. A little bit far from downtown, but worth it! By the way the cold noodle dishes are seasonal menu.

Came in at 8: 12pm and they advertise the closing time to be at 9pm. They refused to serve us and said last call is at 8pm. At least they did with a smile.

They are up there when it comes to tasting authentic Korean food in Vancouver area. (Specially the kimchi)
