Taste of Himalayas

It was amazing! We had the tandoori momo, butter chicken, Sherpa chicken, garlic naan and chicken biryani! It was our first time there and definitely not gonna be our last!

I ordered chicken tandoori momos and chicken chow mien from this place, and both were good; however, the momos are especially recommended.

Firstly,
I must say how spotlessly clean this place is and the decor is very pleasing to the eye. Our server Ravneet, was very polite and caring. She noticed me sweating from spice and turned a fan on next to me!
Now, the food……. Absolutely wow! Portions are wonderful, flavours balanced and plates presented beautifully. We do believe we have found our new go-to place to eat. Update: We have now eaten here 6 times, met the owner (very nice person). We “Love” this place and the owner deserves a Michelin star…. Just fabulous!

Although my order was small-one single plate of veg springrolls- the lady at the counter was pleasant and treating me as a valuable customer. I will definitely will come again to try other vegetable dishes.

You might never notice this small storefront restaurant located in a nondescript strip mall, but based on good reviews we ducked in here for lunch. Surprisingly, we were the only people seated, but they were doing a pretty steady business in take-out orders.

We ordered off the main menu, not the lunch menu. Had Tandoori chicken momos, Muttar paneer and lamb rogan josh, with a side of garlic naan. The peas in the paneer were a bit more al dente than I'm used to, but everything was delicious and service was excellent.

Way too much food for two normal people, but luckily I am gluttonous and was able to finish everything! The order of momos alone would have made a good lunch for one or a light meal for two. Any two items would have been an ideal meal for two.

I ordered delivery through Skip the Dishes so I can only comment on the food itself. It was amazing, nice and spicy when ordered Hot and overall some of the best takeout I've had in the area. I will be ordering again for sure.

Edit - Coming back to say that almost 4 years later I am still ordering from here around once a month.

We are visiting from the US and have tried a plethora of restaurants in the past couple weeks. Taste of Himalayas found its place at the top. We ordered a variety of indo-Chinese dishes. Each tasted amazing! Urshana was our server, who provided great service!

Good food with yummy taste. Service was good but due to one staff need to wait for some time as she was very busy with other guests as well.

This little unassuming restaurant more than lives up to the reviews left here. We were looking for a taste experience and it didn't disappoint. We tried out the momo platter, the lamb curry, and the Nepalese chow mein noodles. All of the dishes were well seasoned and delicious, the momos are definitely a second trip in the making. I also loved the decor; made it feel like a little slice of the Himalayas and added to the experience. Our server was attentive and helpful, giving suggestions when asked and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be returning next time we make it out Surrey way.

Ordered many times, and never disappoints! 11/10 would recommend the garlic naan or any of their curries:)

Tasty with just enough flavour. 2nd time round ordering takeout for annual event. Did not disappoint food was delicious! Whats their secret? Highly recommend Taste of Himalayas!

The momos were not upto point…seemed little bitter to taste…. Veg. Manchurian was also ok to taste only. I saved the restaurant for a special day and i m quite disappointed…Not going to order again…

The food here is absolutely all star, some of the best food I’ve ever had, the staff are super friendly and helpful, a delicious and pleasant experience I had!

We tried their tandoori fish and goat curry; both were extremely flavorful and the portions were generous. The gentleman who seems like the owner was really accommodating and took time to answer our questions about the menu.

This place almost got a 5 but I couldn't go above 4. So let's count it as a 4.5. Few reasons now, one is the taste, all 4 items literally had the same flavour. Manchurian and momos are such different dishes but the taste was same. And noodles it needed more Vegetables in there. Lastly the service was great but they served us without an order. Appetizers came in the middle and one of the main food dish came in the beginning. So overall ok. I wish it was at its best and hope one day it will be. Cool. See you next time!

MOMOS! All of the momos were great. I personally like the old school steamed ones best. Also had the Nepal chilly. Very tasty. The portions were very good for the price. The man who I assume is the owner or manager was really friendly. Overall great experience. Will be back next time I’m in Surrey.

Last night We had the most amazing food:) "Taste of Himalayas" it has the most delicious and authentic food. Food was super Presentable! Portion size was good. Good place to have Mild, Medium & Spicy Food which is served with a smile:). Service was Excellent (5*)! First time, but definitely not the last. We ordered Veg Momos & Chilli Paneer which was amazing! Full of flavor, the right amount of spice, for me anyways. Overall, it’s a great place to have the real taste of Himalayas.

The best review I can leave is that it be tried many items from the menu and I really can’t pick the best one. The food is amazingly rich and deep in flavour. The service is very kind and helpful. So the whole experience was very unique and hard to find in the whole Lower Mainland.

So the place is following all covid protocol and we were asked to show vaccine proof for indoor seating. The veg noodles were very good, Nepali chicken was ok as the flavor was excellent but chicken were bit dry. Chicken momos were a let down as the filling was completely dry. Sorry I like only original momos and the skin and the filling is what makes it great. The service was awesome and it was amazing to see the same person managing all the guests, cash counter and serving food as well

Had a great experience trying out this restaurant! Service was quick and courteous. We ordered the Jack Fruit curry and the Sherpa Chicken, and they were fantastic. Lots of flavour and fantastic spice level. Portions were fairly large. I would expect to pay the same amount for a lot less at other restaurants. I will be coming back!

Had lunch here and it was great! We ordered the Momo platter, but wanted a sampling of both chicken and veggies - so we asked for the chef's recommendation / surprise as for combination + it was excellent! Their chicken chow-mein was also stupid good.:)

First time, but definitely not the last. We ordered way too much. And everything was amazing. Full of flavor, the right amount of spice, for me anyways. The Fish Pakora, Chicken Momos, Veg Manchurian, Dahl. Amazing.

Food was so flavorful and delicious. We definitely will be coming back. Best butter chicken I’ve ever had. Happy with all the dishes I tried tandoori chicken momo, mixed chow mein, garlic naans and yup the best butter chicken. Great portions and value.

I ordered mutter paneer and the container was half full of oil. I asked for a refund over the phone and offered photo proof of the container but they denied the refund. They dont serve food, they serve oil.

Excellent. Had the momo platter and the chicken chow mein which exceeded expectation. Shahi paneer was good. Lamb was a little chewey.
Naan is slighly different than traditional Indian style. More flakey like a Chinese pancake. The medium spice had a bit of a kick. Service is quick and food is hot. Portion size is good. Prices are reasonable. First visit and won't be the last.

This place has such tasty food. The momos are so good, enjoyably spicy (not so you can't taste the flavours), the korma dishes are amazing and everything else my family has tried here is amazing. We order from here often and it's just so good! Bikal and his staff are wonderful too.

Just thought we would try some different food. AND IT WAS AMAZING!
When I said different, I meant a change from the run of the mill Indian curry. Nepalese food is great! The Momos are terrific! Get the sampler platter! There was so much selection it was ridiculous! There was 3 of us and we had 8 dishes, we couldn't choose just 1. The Fish Pakoras are hands down better than fish and chips. We live in Langley but will make the trip to this restaurant for sure! So great, can't say enough, hospitality is welcoming and they are proud of the food they serve.

Both me and my husband love this place!? Atmosphere is peaceful, food is heavenly, service is very friendly and Big Boss is one of a kind person welcoming, always smiling and willing to answer all questions, thanks to what we feel here like home.

Found this place by accident and ended up loving it! We ordered the momo platter and it was so delicious and the garlic naan was the best naan and some of the best bread I’ve ever had. It was so fresh and warm! The staff is also so so kind and the music was lovely. We live downtown Vancouver but would drive all the way here just to eat the food again!

Placed an order close to a dozen Naan. They agreed to make it so we showed up and waited outside for 20 mins to then get a phone call from the restaurant saying that they are not taking orders for just Naans and they are to busy. Really good customer service guys. Especially on mothers day.

Before it was my favourite spot for Nepali food but after one worst experience and it’s out of my list. I ordered chicken curry, momos and got 6 to 7 hair in my food. When I call the store, they didn’t accepted.
I told the girl that I don’t need the money back but Atleast you have to apologize for your food.
And that was my last order from that restaurant that was going in the garbage bin.

I have never had Nepalese cuisine and did not know what to expect. The tastes and flavours were nothing like I’ve ever had and blended together perfectly. The Momo’s were nice and juicy and not too spicy. They were well cooked and I would eat them again, but I didn’t find them out of this world amazing. I would consider trying then in chicken next time. The Chicken Sekuwa was so tasty though! The flavours and spices were just perfect and especially with the fresh squeezed lime. It really brought another dimension to it. And then to pair it with the sweetness of the coconut rice was just the perfect combination. I would definitely have that again! Plus the price is super affordable. I would definitely recommend for you to try the chicken sekuwa. The reason I docked 1 star though is that the bathroom was disgusting. I try not to think about the bathroom cleanliness as a direct reflection of the restaurant but it really was horrible. The toilet was extremely dirty and gross and I was so glad to be able to wash my hands. Especially in covid times it would be nice to see the bathroom was a little better maintained. But other than than that, the food was exceptional and I will come back to try other items on the menu.

Food was pretty good. 2 out of 3 dishes were quite tasty but 1 was bland.
Service was non-existent. We were one of two tables with guests and it took forever to get our order in. Once the food came, no one ever returned to our table. Quite literally I mean it - no one ever came back to our table to check on us and we were about 10 feet from the front counter in plain sight.
3 stars for good food but someone needs to look into the hospitality issues.
Would consider going back but I would be ordering take out.
