Tequila Vallarta Restaurante Mexicano

I live on Main Street and got locked out of my apartment one night (while it was raining of course) and the staff here let me sit inside with my dog until my landlord could bring me extra keys.they served me chips ‘n dip and water on the house. 10/10 amazing and very kind staff!

I ordered the green enchiladas, didn't love them. The guacamole, salsa and nachos were really good though.

Great food! Friendly folk. Enjoyed the paintings. Ordering could be a touch easier if you knew Spanish. LOL.

Probably the best fajitas I've ever had. True authentic Mexican food and tasted amazing. My 2 kids and wife all had different dinners and we all loved it.

We had lunch as a family of four, two of us had the quesadillas and two had burritos. Great food, good value and very friendly service. One of the waiters singing along to the radio could use a couple of singing lessons but he belted it out passionately, and otherwise we had a lovely team and great food!

I don't eat much Mexican food, so I can t make any comparisons, but my plate was empty when I left.

The experience was great, amazing food I had the crispy chicken tacos and the enchilada they were flavorful, fresh and delicious. Friendly service as well

Overall great place. We had chips and salsa within a couple minutes of sitting down, food came out quick and presentation was very good. Will definitely be coming back.

Threw some watery tomato sauce on my Pablano Peppers & slapped it down in front of me, not what I was expecting.
Double margaritas were NOT doubles!
No apologies from staff.

Unfortunately we had a horrible dinning experience that led to both getting very sick.started with unknown food bits in the tortilla chips with a strange taste, a dirty table and area, soy sauce at the base for the carne asada dish which is not mexican.and over 10 fruit flies in both drinks. We both got sick from the food for 2 days.seems like a dirty restaurant and bar. I
t's very unfortunate as it's a sweet family restaurant.

The first time we went it was good; we really enjoyed the food, the service was fine, the atmosphere was unremarkable.the second time we went (last weekend) it was kinda late so maybe that's why but the service was pretty disappointing (8pm on a Saturday though? Not that late?). The waitress seemed very disinterested, but what actually bothered all of us the most was how she picked up all of our water glasses around the rim from her tray to set them on the table – that is awful serving etiquette! We don't know where her hands have been.so, no water for us, obviously.anyway, the food was good, like last time, so I'm sure we'll go again, and I guess just hope there's a different server.oh, and we'll probably choose a different table too, cos our chairs were rickety as hell. I thought it was going to disintegrate when I sat on it.

Wow! I ate that so fast there was no time for a picture, I had the fish tacos and my wife had the Vegetarian burritos. Absolutely delicious I am disappointed I didn't try this sooner. Can't wait to try more of the menu, great job folks!

Hey visited tequila Vallarta in their old location and loved it. Not as in love with the food this time, Chile rellenos we’re a bit thin and the guacamole tasted and looked not so fresh. But also I am not in Mexico where the avacadoes are prolific! Good service and nice casual atmosphere.

Just ok. Very slow service. Food showed up well before our drinks. We had to ask several times for the drinks. Not a place to go back to.

Portions were big, flavour and quality outstanding, price affordable. Family owned, very nice people, outstanding service.

We requested a take out order for 12 with very short notice. Owner Nero and his team were up to the task. We let them decide the menu and we were more than impressed with the food and the service. Way to go Tequila Vallarta, we will definitely eat there again.

I asked for the sauces to be in containers so that my burrito wouldn't get soggy. That request was ignored. My burrito broke and completely fell apart because of how soggy it is. Previously when my request was not ignored my dinner was delicious. Not this time though. Disappointing. Additionally, some of the rice was undercooked to the point of still being crunchy, and the refried beans were cold. I won't be ordering take out from here again because my burrito is largely inedible.

I am blown away by the positive reviews this place has received after the experience I had when I came here with my husband on our date night. I’m not someone who would usually leave a bad review but this was so bad I felt it was my duty to the community to give you a heads up! When we arrived no one else was here which was already a huge sign how the night would go! First we received complimentary salsa and chips which was exciting until we noticed all of our chips were burnt and when we received our waters the waiter let us know the water was drinkable but the ice cubes where questionable? After letting in the super friendly cat inside that insisted we’d pet him throughout our meal, which is not something you usually see in a restaurant, I ordered the carne asada which Our Waiter then explained he didn’t speak Spanish so I let him know it was the beef brisket and my husband ordered the Mexican platter! So he basically didn’t know what was on his menu! We received our meals 3 minutes later and where excited to eat! I first noticed that I received chicken instead of beef but since I was hungry I thought it’s all good Im okay with it! Firstly I tried the beans, which where the worst cold beans I’ve ever had and then tried the rice which was cold, soggy and smelt like it was made two days ago! The chicken tasted like subway precooked chicken that had been warmed up on the grill; it was the worst chicken I’ve had in my life! I ended up eating two tortillas with their Guacamole that was mainly tomatoes! My husband didn’t enjoy his meal either and made me taste his Chile Relleno, battered peppers, which tasted soggy and like it was made ahead of time. Usually Chile relleno is my favourite but this night I almost puked eating it! I ended up taking everything home because I’m not much to cause a scene. I know I should have asked for my $20 bucks in return! Afterwards my husband took me to Burger King to get some food inside me! Worst food I’ve ever had!

Food and drinks are affordable and delicious, service is fantastic and would happily recommend to others

I have had authentic Mexican food in both Mexico and in the lower mainland. The food had taste. I was not happy with the quality of the food especially the rice and chicken. I would not recommend take out. Maybe dine in is a different experience.

Wow! This place was a great find! We were in town for a vacation, and we spotted this funky restaurant. We ate outdoors among all of the colorful, neat decor. The service was so fast and friendly. Our meals were very good, as were the frozen drinks! I loved the fish tacos. We will be back!

I cannot fathom how people have enjoyed food here. If the only Mexican you’ve had before was Taco Time, then maybe.

This is the worst “Mexican” food I’ve ever had. Bland. Sickly. Disgusting. My burrito had boiled flavourless meat. Residual water all over the plate. Slop on the plate. Gross.

Wow! 10s across the board, food was delicious and fairly priced, the outdoor patio is beaut and the service from Corey was great. Only bad thing is that you will struggle to make a decision on what to eat

This place gets busy pretty quickly because of their mexican patio vibe. Service was good but if they are busy, food will come out after atleast ONE HOUR. We waited for the hour and the food was not worth the wait. The server tried her best with chips and salsa on the house but after 1 hour waiting for food, it is just unacceptable. The music is way too loud and they run on spotify free (you can hear the random advertisements/commerical). Stay away if you do not want the dissapointing wait times. Come in if you are in the area for drinks and loud music. Overall food is so-so, service is sub-par.

The service was okay, and sadly, the food didn't make up for it. The food we got was underwhelming, and it tasted like the meat had been boiled and then microwaved. The food was under cooked, under seasoned, and certainly not authentic. It is a shame that this was what people in Penticton have as a standard for Mexican cuisine.

Ordered on skip the dishes. Food arrived in 25 minutes. Food is soooo delicious. Will be a regular for us.

We ordered take out last night, I had the Chipotle Chicken Burrito, my girlfriend had the Tortilla Soup and Shrimp Tacos, her partner had the Shrimp Burrito and we also had an order of guacamole. Everything was so tasty. I was missing my Mexican paradise that I go to every Winter and this meal brought me some wonderful memories. Thank you Tequila Vallarta!

Other than the salsa, the food was not fresh. What's worse, we encountered a fairly large chicken bone in one of our enchiladas yesterday.could've have been serious. I informed them within half an hour, they said "sorry". I wish we could post our pics, but not possible in this review.

It's okay a bit bland and not authentic if the prices were reduced by about 25% it would worth it nice staff though, way better food in oliver if you can drive otherwise don't bother.

Amazing food, the taste, flavors and presentation were excellent. The chef happily made our meals as we asked due to some allergies. Very much appreciated.

Me and my friend been there once for dinner on Sunday, this service was pretty good and nice welcoming.
When we order the food it came at time and was delicious, once we finished, they packed our leftovers which is perfect.

Really good food and margaritas. It was quite busy with large groups, so the chef brought out our food quite quickly. It was understaffed for the holiday so I appreciated the extra effort to fit in our table of two amongst the groups. Reasonably priced. The atmosphere feels like you're walking from Penticton into Mexico. Very airy and cultural, typical Spanish music. I love it and will return many times.

Excellent authentic Mexican Margarita's only for 25 delicious food you better get down there now, I went two nights in a row and have the same Dish beef quesadilla fabulous

This place feels truly like Mexico. To a cat wandering around your feet that came with the place, to the insanely tasty food and quick beer, to the colorful dexorations and village feel this place is great. Portions so large you think there's no way you're going to eat it all, but food so good you know you're going to regret not squeezing it in. Huge recommend.

Would def not recommend. Bad service. Dirty surroundings and there is netting above the tables. Coukdnt believe it, of all things, there was a cat sleeping directly above our table on the netting. Gross!

Oh my goodness! Tastes just like authentic Mexican food. Real queso, corn tortillas, and the whole restaurant is SOOO CUTE. Y'all must check this out.
