Terra Nova Canines

Tara has looked after our dog twice over the last year. We were given regular updates and pics which we really appreciated. It is comforting to know that Tara is taking good care of our furry family member when we are away.

Would definitely recommend! Finley is always so happy for his staycations. He loves making new friends. I like that I get daily updates giving me piece of mind while on my vacation

Our dog Ted stayed with Tara and when I picked him up he was excited to see me but then was eager to go back inside and continue his playtime with his friends. He is a sensitive dog that gets overstimulated easily and was relaxed and at home with Tara. We are so happy we found a place that is home for him when we are away! Thanks Tara!

It took us a long time to find a dog boarder as terrific as Terra Nova Canines. Tara went the extra mile, she groomed our sheepdog and even allowed our clingy pugapoo to share her bed. Getting daily picture reports was a real treat, too. Highly recommended.

Tara is an amazing trainer who used positive reinforcement methods to help train my pupper, Casper. He had a great time and we are countinung the methods shown in class.

We had our meet and greet and felt really good using her boarding services knowing she is also a professional dog trainer. Our dog comes home happy and tired and I really appreciate the daily updates while we are away. Would highly recommend.

Poppy and I really enjoyed our Puppy Preschool experience with Tara (Poppy would like to say that she especially liked getting the best treats ever!). The small class size and comfortable spaces (indoor/outdoor depending on the weather) were great, as was Tara's awareness of each pup's needs and willingness to address specific concerns both during the class and after-hours via email portal. Tara is an empathetic, confident and effective instructor who gives background and reasons for training methods and goals as well as lots of time to practice skills. We definitely knew we were in good hands and would highly recommend Terra Nova Canines. Thanks!

My spouse and I highly recommend Terra Nova Canines. We took part in the canine basics group classes with our pup and we were very happy with the training that not only our pup got, but the training we got as well. Tara is a very patient and well-spoken instructor willing to take an extra few minutes to answer any questions we had and to clarify anything we were unsure of. Overall we were very happy with the classes!

Me and Teddy have really enjoyed our classes so far at Terra Nova Canines. Tara has so much patience when introducing new skills to Teddy. I also really like the way she explains the things we learn in class. She is great at communication which I really appreciate. I highly recommend as I have already seen great results in my dog after two classes!

I cannot recommend Terranova Canine Training enough. Tara is fantastic, she’s not only knowledgeable but she explains the WHY which makes the tools she’s giving you that much more powerful. Matti and I truly enjoyed coming to “school” every week and already have plans to take the advanced class and also do some boarding with Tara.

What a wonderful staycation our pup had with Terra Nova and we had the peace of mind knowing she was well taken care of and loved while we were away. From the easy online booking, drop off, daily updates and pictures, to a smooth pick up and getting to see how happy our pup was…Terra Nova is perfection. Highly recommend!

We did the Canine Basics course and my dog loved it! Tara did a good job of connecting with the dogs at their comfort level and taught us as owners well. We will be back for another set once we have the basics completely ingrained.

We always have a such a good experience with Terra Nova! You can really see and feel the extra love and care for the dogs. We won’t be going anywhere else for boarding!

If a 10 star review was possible, it would be given to Tara. Our dog Oakley stayed for 2 weeks while we were on our vacation and we could not have been more comfortable and happy with her care while we were away! It was a big decision to have our dog stay somewhere that was not our home for the first time, especially for an extended time, but once we got the first update all those worries completely went away. She absolutely THRIVED during her staycation and loved every minute of her time there. Tara was very diligent on providing daily updates with photos and videos, and this was so appreciated. We will not hesitate to book Oakley for another stay in the future. Thank you so much Tara & Granite!

Tara did a wonderful job sitting for my terror Nobi. He's a special mix of dog selective, leash reactive, and has mild isolation distress, so it was really important to us that he stay with someone who could manage his quirks. When we picked him up, he was just as happy as always and has settled back into our home without issue. Tara sent updates (videos and pictures) every day, and put our mind at ease. I will 1000% be using Tara's services again!

I'm happy to say that my dog and I are both learning very fast under the training and guidance of Tara! She is very clear and concise in the way that she teaches. I am also very impressed with her ongoing support and communication between classes. Thanks again Tara!

Tara has created a very calm and comfortable space to teach. I had my 5 month old (wild) Pomeranian enrolled in her class and wasn’t sure what to expect. Her patience and love for dogs shine through. Her instructions were easy to follow and I had success with my pup. She had just the right class sizes and went around to everyone to make sure the pups “got it” I’m very happy to have found her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for some training

Tara was so great with our 2yo Labradoodle. We felt so comfortable leaving out pup to play on the farm, enjoy her home and cuddle in bed. We appreciated the daily photos and updates while we were travelling knowing that our girl was comfortable during her staycation.

Enrolled in the group recall clinic and as only one there got a private class - bonus. Only been 1x so far and Saffy seemed to really enjoy herself - and all the treats!
Tara’s instructions were to the point and easy to follow both in class and at home
I don’t know if its wishful thinking but I think Saffy is already paying more attention.

Tara was great teaching me skills and many tips for more enjoyable walks with Hank. She is very knowledgeable and resourceful and patient. I’d recommend Tara to any dog owner needing that extra help teaching their dog with leash walking.

We couldn't be more grateful to have Tara and her boarding services. Our pup Mia is a rescue and while she loves dogs, she has some anxiety that we've been working through and it was important that we find someone who uses positive only reinforcement. We found boarding at daycare to be too overwhelming for her, and thankfully the home environment that Tara provides was a tremendously better experience. Tara provided nightly updates which we hugely appreciated, and Mia even made friends with another guest! The amount of care taken with Mia was obvious and we would not hesitate to board her here again. Thank you Tara for taking such good care of our pup!

It isn't easy finding an environment that will be comfortable for our anxious rescue, and it can take a while for her to warm up to new people, but our pup Winnie took to Tara immediately. It was such a relief to know Winnie was a good hands while we were traveling, and Tara did a fantastic job keeping us in the loop about Winnie's stay. Tara, thanks for the care and attention you put into looking after Winnie! You really went above and beyond to make her feel at home, and we were so grateful for the photo/video updates. We will see you again soon.:)
