I haven't been to the dentist since 2019 because of the pandemic. Today was my first day back and first impressions were good-there are only 2 chairs in the waiting room and an air purifier and hand sanitizer available. Honestly I wasn't the least bit concerned until I signed the paper stating I accepted all the risks, but as soon as I sat in the chair my confidence in my safety increased every minute. There was an air purifier in this room as well, a chlorinated fogging mechanism, and a high volume suction machine. Staff were wearing face masks and face shields, and I was told to do a hydrochloric rinse before my service. My cleaning was thorough as well, as it should be considering how long it's been! Highly recommend

Terra Nova dental has been my favourite clinic for the last 17 years. That's why I didn't change even after I moved to another city.

I’m so glad I was referred to Dr. Yang by a friend as he is such a gentle dentist. He takes his time and really cares about the patients comfort and wellbeing.
With Covid and all, I still feel that all the protocols in place are being properly followed by everyone working there as well as all the patients.
I highly recommend Terra Nova as the staff are also very friendly.

Fantastic staff, friendly and helpful. Dr. Yang is always caring and friendly (and I hear the same about Dr. Yu). For safety during the pandemic, they have air filters and air sanitizers in each patient area, and staff wear full-on space suits with face shields:)

Dr. David Yu is a great dentist and the dental hygienists are excellent. Been going there since 1999. All the staff take Covid protocols seriously. Our family feels safe going there.

I am so happy I have found Terra Nova Dental Center. The staff, hygienists and dentists are extremely personable and professional. They take the time to explain all procedures and answer all your questions. Naomi greets you by name, Carolyn takes great care when cleaning your teeth and Dr. Yu is so compassionate and takes the time to explain all your dental care needs.

This dentist filled my lower right molar instead he should have done a root canal. I was in severe pain for a week and he was on vacation so he couldn’t prescribe me any antibiotic. He said we need to do a root canal now. So I made an appointment but I missed it due to a family emergency.
So after taking the Antibiotic for a week, the pain came back after a month and I made an appointment to see him. I walked in the clinic, from his secretary to dental hygienist and the dentist himself were after me for missing the appointment and dr yu clearly said “I am not lecturing you but as business person I lost the sale and had to pay my staff. You should have given us 24 hr notice to cancel so I could have used that time and I lost so much money because of you guys.and you got the estimate for your daughters Invisalign and never got them done”.

We have been going to this dentist since 2002, we don’t have any dental insurance and we have to pay each time from my pocket. For my daughter I paid whatever the consultation was but he quoted an amount that I couldn’t afford at that moment so we never anything done from him or any others dentist. For my husband he said it will be cheaper if you just get filling done for now but you need a root canal as it would be cheaper to just have the filling done. He charged me 380 dollars and for root canal it would only be another 300. He didn’t give me any price point if though I asked him twice. And now the pain I had gone through for about 2 weeks and now again I am in pain or a week. Who is accountable for the pain I am going through. He just cares for money that’s it. He is just a business man not a dentist.

Over the years, Dr. David Yu has been an active supporter oral cancer research bra. He rode with our team, Better Outcomes 2, in the 2017 BC Ride to Conquer Cancer. That was truly epic. We would be so stoked if he joined us again in the ride. Please do us a big one and encourage him to put his surf board down for a bit and ride with us. As may have guessed this dude is a big fan of surfing! I have worked with Dr. Yu, his team, and his patients over the years and he has never rag-dolled a tooth. He is a stellar dentist you will not be disappointed if you see him!

Culter determens how employees react to their oranizations. The front desk clerks have certain discriminations especially on caucasians. What BS.
