Terranova Medical Clinic

Terra nova is a great clinic. I've been coming here for a few years and the staff are absolutely fantastic. I'm not exactly sure what is going on with these hyperbolic recent bad reviews.but I'm sure the staff must be very busy right now working during the pandemic. I feel bad for all health care workers right now with how much work they have to do and wish that people would cut them some slack.
I see Dr. Wilson who is a wonderful doctor. She's very kind and listens to everything I have to say and seems genuinely interested in me. I'm very lucky to have found her. She's very busy too with the pandemic and it's hard to get into see her these days, but she told me that that should get better soon as they have recently hired some new staff and doctors to deal with the high demand right now.
I want to say thank you to all of you at Terranova for all your hard work as front line staff!

This medical team always offers me and my whole family professional services. They're caring and kind and empathetic from Doctors to its administrator. Special thanks to Pauline, for her considerate and amazing service in helping us!

Great clinic. Very organized. I had my flu shot there today with the nurse. She was very nice and I love the idea of a flu shot clinic in my community.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Terra Nova Clinic with my family, and overall, it was a positive experience. The staff at the clinic were incredibly professional, caring, and accommodating, making us feel welcome and at ease from the moment we walked in.

One aspect that stood out was the exceptional behavior of the clinic's staff. They were friendly, courteous, and displayed a genuine concern for our well-being. They patiently answered all our questions and provided clear explanations about the procedures and treatments. It was evident that they were dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services.

I would also like to express my appreciation for the Nurse Practitioner who followed up with us. She was thorough in her examination, taking the time to listen attentively to our concerns and addressing them with care and expertise. Her approach was both professional and empathetic, making us feel confident in the treatment plan she recommended.

However, I must highlight one aspect that left us slightly disappointed—the examination room capacity. Given that we visited as a family of four, the room felt considerably cramped. It was challenging for all of us to fit comfortably and maintain privacy during the examination. The lack of space made the experience a bit uncomfortable and hindered our ability to fully relax.

Furthermore, the absence of an activated air conditioning system compounded the issue. With a limited amount of fresh air circulating in the room, the environment quickly became stuffy and uncomfortable. It's essential for a healthcare facility to ensure a comfortable and conducive atmosphere for patients, especially during moments of anxiety or discomfort.

Despite these shortcomings, I acknowledge that Terra Nova Clinic provided us with exceptional care and service. While the examination room size and lack of AC were inconveniences, the professionalism and expertise of the staff, as well as the attentiveness of the Nurse Practitioner, made up for these shortcomings. We couldn't ask for more in terms of their dedication to patient care and well-being.

Overall, Terra Nova Clinic offers excellent healthcare services, but there is room for improvement in terms of the examination room capacity and ensuring a comfortable environment for patients. With a few adjustments, the clinic would undoubtedly provide an even more pleasant experience for all visitors.

I'm so glad to have found Terra nova. I have so many friends without a doctor and this place keeps getting more people. The staff are really good and seem to really care about their patients.

I spoke to someone with a Philippino accent on the phone and she was rude. No compassion for patients. The doctor is nice there but admin office is horrible.

Considering how insanely busy this office is they do a pretty great job of dealing with their patients! It used to be one of the best places to go to a walk-in clinic when I first moved to Richmond in 2018 but now (through no fault of their own) due to Covid and the Dr shortage they don’t seem to be able to accommodate walk-ins. Regardless, after many years of searching for a GP for my daughter we were finally able to get her a Nurse Practitioner at this office to be her primary care giver and we could not be more pleased with his care!

NOTE!
If you are looking for a primary caregiver don’t just go by what they have on their website, call in (early morning is best if you want to get through) and check with reception as well because sometimes Drs will start working there and their spots fill up just by word of mouth without ever being listed as a new Dr accepting patients on Terra Nova’s website!

Dr Julia Wilson is my husband and daughters family doctor and I’m so thankful for her and her practice, we were very lucky and found her just before she opened her own practice. She’s an amazing and caring doctor who always follows up, I hope to one day be able to have her as my own family doctor when she has availability. I do see other doctors and they have all been amazing even during Covid and the shortages now

We went in the first time today to see Dr Yang. The.receptionists are very polite and helpful. Dr Yang is a young doctor who is very detailed, helpful, caring and knowledgeable.
An excellant professional clinic.

They are refusing to do my one year old baby check up and vaccine after i refused to give him covid 19 vaccine. They kept rescheduling us 3 times but in the meantime the nurse was continuesly harassing me (I stoped counting the voicemails from her about the covid vaccine at 8 but was more than that) over the phone for the covid 19 vaccine and today they told me that for the baby check up and regular one year old vaccine I have to go somewhere else. Both of my kids were getting vaccine and check ups there before as our family doctor is there.

The most excellent doctor in Richmond. Very grateful to have found Dr. Julie Wilson as our family physician. She is extremely compassionate, understanding and treats all her patients with respect. Thank you Dr. Wilson

Mariko is the best health care practitioner I've ever had. She goes above and beyond to look into anything you are concerned about. I am grateful to have her as a Nurse Practitioner.

They were late by more than 6 hours for my telephone appointment. Unacceptable. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Do not go to this clinic.

Much appreciated! My interaction with Mark Ventura, NP has been excellent! He is very professional, thorough, personable, knowledgeable, and flexible. He spends time with me going over issues with reasonable and adequate level of detail. He provides follow-up info in a calm easy to understand, focused manner, and seems to know what is most critical to communicate to the patient.

NP Mariko Miller has been the best healthcare provider I have encountered, very caring and compassionate. She is a very attentive person as well as understanding. The booking system makes it much more easier to have regular visits both in person or over the phone. She's great!

The clinic receptionist Pauline is so kind and friendly. She steps further for us as new patients who speaks her dedication and passion for the job!

Terrible service front desk staff were rude.clearly states walk-in clinic but then says we need an appointment. Terrible place

Had a pleasant experience with the receptionist. Very warm and helpful! Although she wasn’t able to help, she still provided helpful resources.

If you're looking for a walk-in clinic, please beware this clinic only takes walk-ins "by appointment". They do not take in patients who simply walk in.

Despise of some of recent low reviews, I still believe this is the best family doctor clinic I have been to. The staff was really friendly and patient even though I know they are extremely busy. Dr. Julie Wilson always answers my question with the kind and professional manner. I have moved away from Richmond but I still consider this is the only place I will go if I want a family doctor appointment.

Wish I could give this clinic one star! They're impossible to schedule with, confusing, hard to contact, will send automatic confirmation for you appointment when its not actually scheduled nor confirmed.consistently call me day of appointment to CANCEL never reschedule.when I do finally get the appointment, doctor rushes, doesn't listen, makes me feel uncomfortable and even stupid for asking for help. (this was when I was concussed and actually ended up needing physio)

The self-check in kiosk is great! This clinic is so modern. Wait time is short. So easy to book appointment online.

Very unprofessional. Slow response, the high demand of Family Dr does not mean you can ask your patient to wait forever. What a shame!

They don’t answer the phone, their opening hours are ABSURD, I can’t book an appointment online because their clinic is not an option on the site, this is not okay.

I was a bit apprehensive coming to this clinic nearly 8 yrs ago after my long time doctor in Richmond retired. When my husbands health took a sudden turn, Dr. Ali was quick to arrange specialists and follow up care, even phone calls after hours to our home. We really felt taken care of.
The ease of booking online and tele-med appointments is very much appreciated. The appointments are quick, but never rushed and I've always felt that the discussion of my health is his top priority.
There have been some hiccups along the way, but mostly office issues, which were rectified immediately by discussing with him.
I'm happy to say that Dr. Ali has calmed those initial concerns and our doctor / patient relationship has grown into one that I trust completely.

Extremely prompt and professional management of an acute whiplash and concussion. Dr. Wilson and Dr. Qazalbash went above and beyond providing thorough assessment, treatment and compassionate care. Thank you!

Front desk people are rude, took my business elsewhere and cancelled my appointment. I will never go back again.

My wife and I have Mark Ventura as our Nurse Practitioner. His care has been great. He is very thorough and we always feel well taken care of by him. He doesn't simply try to get you through your appointment like some other clinics but actually follows up and makes sure your needs are resolved appropriately.

My appointment with Dr. Yang Lin was scheduled for 2: 55. I arrived on time and was told to wait. I waited for 10 minutes before asking the receptionist where the doctor was. I was informed that he was with another patient.

I continued to wait for another 25 minutes, while watching other patients come and go. This seemed very bizarre given that I had arrived earlier, yet the receptionist assured me that they would be seen by another doctor who, for some mysterious reason, I wasn't able to see.

Finally, after 45 minutes, Dr. Lin condescended to see me. My complaint about a blocked ear was resolved in a couple minutes with a simple flush. When I asked the doctor to flush my other ear, he claimed he didn't have time.

So other patients can eat 45 minutes of my appointment, but Dr. Lin doesn't have an extra minute for me? To me this seems outrageously rude, and frankly backwards. For an establishment that claims to be in the business of helping people, they sure have a miserable way of going about it.

Do yourself a favor, go ANYWHERE else. This clinic doesn't care about you.

Met Dr Virginia Le for the first time today as our family doctor had just retired. She was thorough, competent and friendly. We are glad to have found her!

Reception services are not professional. I will continue to see the doctor but receptionists are all lacking in knowledge and does not have the right attitude to answer questions. Not sure if they are over worked and if so that is unfortunate but just not pleasant experience.

Great clinic, helpful staff. Menglin Jang has been taking excellent care of my parents & uncle.

Unreliable, inconsiderate, and unprofessional.

I had a phone appointment scheduled with Dr. Virginia Le and I never received a call. I left a message with the clinic and no one called me back so I went in the next day to see what had happened. Upon discussion with the receptionist, Dr. Le interrupted and was incredibly rude and arrogant. She told me that she did call me and that it was my fault that I had not answered my phone. I told her that had no voicemail or missed call on my phone and that I was waiting for her call for over an hour. Trying to prove her point, she showed me the number she had called and it was not mine. I double checked with the receptionist over the phone that my number would be called and the receptionist verified that there was a note on my chart to call my number. After finding out that she had made a mistake, no apology was made and no reconciliation was provided. If you are looking for a kind, professional and compassionate doctor, Dr. Virginia Le is not it.

Do not waster your time booking phone appointment they give you an appointment and don't phone. I had appointment at 9: 40 booked called finally at 11am to ask what the problem and the awful Receptionist say oh I see your appointment but she busy with in clinic patient she may call at the end of her shift. Really I have job I set a side time for the appointment but I guess my time doesn't matter. This not the first time this has happen every bad time management skill because the book appointment every 10 min to max the amount of app in a day. More about money then care

I'm going through some real complicated issues and I don't know how I'd do it without Dr Wilson. Not only does she keep tabs on the issue with me 3 times more frequently than my last doctor, she is kind and listens and provides support which I need at this time. I am 100% positive I could not get by without her, and think everyone deserves a doctor like her.

We've been with Dr. Wilson ever since the clinic opened and are under such phenomenal care. Dr. Wilson is always patients and provide beyond professional advice. We works close as a family and trusted her wholeheartedly. All the other Doctors and the front desk are very caring and kind too. Thank you so much for being here for us.

I feel so lucky i found her when my older son was just born, and she has been very attentive, caring looking after me and my two little ones.

Dr Julie Wilson is great. Very caring and very thorough and she has excellent staff that are very efficient. I recommend Dr Wilson and Dr Ali Quzalbash.

Dr. Lee is the worst doctor I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Her attitude made me sick and I was shocked by the way she treated her patients. She was just sitting in her chair with her arms crossed and kept blinking her eyes without even showing any care for her patients. She was so rude and did not answer any question that I asked her. I feel so sorry for anyone who chose her over the other doctors. AVOID HER IF POSSIBLE.

Dr. Julie Wilson has been my family doctor since 2016, she is smart, caring, thorough and compassionate. I'm blessed to have been her patient.

I'm quite happy with the quality of care I receive here; Dr. Wilson has been my family doctor for years, and I've never thought of switching once.

Some doctors are just there for the money.
My mom went today to see if her headaches and her history with her nose and surgeries she previously had gotten.
She saw Dr. Donna Lee and she told my mom she would need to book another appointment if she wanted the doctor to check another symptom.
Plus Lee didn't even check or look at her nose and told her to take Advil or Tylenol.she was so rude and didn't care about her patient at all.
I recommend anyone else to not see Dr. Lee

I was freaking out over a rash my baby had and came into this clinic as a walk-in. Although I may not have been at my best, the clinic staff were very gracious and helpful and patient with me.

Special thanks to Dr. Ali who truly has a gift with children. As a single father, I really appreciated his warmth and empathy at a time I was in a panic.

I'm going to try to get Ali as my family doctor for both myself and my daughter. Bless you Dr. Ali. Bless you.

Dr. Julie Wilson and all her associates are excellent doctors in town. I am glad that I was able to be accepted as her patient. She have saved my life many times is grateful for their great services. Also wanted to thank to all her medical assistants in the clinic are very professional, kind, understanding towards me. This is a 5-star medical clinic that I highly recommended to anyone with all languages.

I have been seeing Dr. Wilson for years now and would highly recommend this clinic. They are usually on time, more than any other medical clinic I have been to. I feel great leaving my medical care in the hands on Dr. Wilson.

I had a doctor who helped me today by removing cotton from my ear which was tricky, but when he did, I knew he was a real doctor with real experience - he was determined to help and gave me a prescription without any trouble. My only tip for him is for is to always introduce yourself because I would have mentioned it in this review. The staff member that helped me was very considerate and pleasant to speak with.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience and have chosen to make Terranova Medical Clinic my primary walk in clinic!

Visited last week for the first time for my son's checkup. Very knowledgabble lady doctor and very kind young man at the front desk. Awesome staff and walk in clinic!

If i could give 0 i would. Worst front desk service i've ever encountered in my life. They can't even get my contact information correct after the 4 times i've told them to correct it which resulted in me missing my 6 month wait appointment with a gyno. What a joke you guys are. If i stay as a patient i'll die under their care, no doubt.

I went there with my friend and I must say that not only doctors but also the other staff is so polite. All the services from booking an appointment till getting follow up emails from the clinic are so professional. I really appreciate all the staff and doctors who are serving patients in this pandemic situation! I truly recommend this clinic to all based on the experience I had there:)

Tried to make an appointment for the last 2 weeks but they don't answer the phone. Doesn't matter what time you call they don't pick up and you can't leave a message and they don't call you back. I made 2 appointments both times it was 40minutes to a hour late the 2nd one I missed because I was in a meeting and it was a phone call not a in person appointment.

Admin staff is very pleasant and attentive. Doctors are through and explain with patience and detail. Very pleased to come to this office. Follow up is like nothing I have seen ever. Keep up the good work! Highly recommend.

This place rocks called them up got a same day appointment and was in and out within an hour. Has a pharmacy right in the same unit I think I'll try to get my regular doc here.

Dr’s at the clinic are alright. It’s a hit or miss with the Dr’s there but truly the worst front desk/receptionists I have ever dealt with. No sense of urgency, critical thinking, or human effort made from them.

Extremely disappointed with how I was seen and treated as a patient. Receptionist gave me a look like I shouldn't be there. Doctor Yang really made me feel bad for coming here with his mean demeanor. Worst experience with a Doctor/clinic ever.

I called the clinic to set-up an appointment for "walk-in". I got asked the COVID screening questions over the phone prior to coming to the clinic and they still let me come; yet, when I got there, I got the feeling that they didn't want me there. If that was the case, then I should've been informed prior; instead of making me feel like it was my fault for being there. I understand all the COVID precaution/screening happening everywhere nowadays, but I never experienced it to be so discriminating just because I had a cough. Knowing that I am low risk for COVID (no history of travel or exposure), it didn't quickly come to my mind to get tested before seeing a doctor. A gentle and nice reminder wouldn't hurt, but all I got from receptionist/MOA was a look as if I'm so infectious and disgusting, and nagging from the Dr.about how "it's not supposed to be that way".

The main reason I went to see the doctor was because I wanted to get checked out, for I have been exposed to someone who has a respiratory illness - not COVID. I also wanted a lab requisition, which my gp usually provides me to have reassurance (something I don't abuse and ask him frequently) ; but, Dr. Yang just said in a salty way, "we'll see", "it doesn't work that way". I mean, why the need to be so salty about it? If the answer is no, then no - I'd appreciate hearing it nicely. Just like the previous reviews, I walked out here feeling scolded. And just like them, I regret coming here instead of just waiting for my appt.with my gp. Lesson learned.

The worst receptionists in British Columbia. Front desk staff are disgusting, filthy, unprofessional, slow, inefficient, and useless. 15mins on hold and then they hang up. Pathetic staff. Calls will go straight to voicemail. They intentionally do this because they’re lazy and sitting around daydreaming of the days they don’t have to work. Please hire staff who can operate a simple telephone. I only got through after calling 24 times and I’m sure I’m not the only one (read all the 1 star reviews).

Worst clinc ever. Walked in and they never recieve new patients. I went because it's near my place but, every time I go they dont accept. I do not recommend going here.
