The Boathouse Restaurant

We went for New Years and had the set menu. I had the tuna, she had the lobster ravioli. The “rare” tuna was chewier than a bad steak, and the sides were inedible. The lobster ravioli was bland and sloppy.
Our mains arrived while we were half way through our starters, and then we didn’t see a server for 45 minutes. After complaining about the food, they didn’t even give us a complimentary coffee.
I was extremely disappointed, especially for what they were charging.
Would not recommend.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years. While it took me 30 minutes to find parking, my wife and daughter were seated and got no service. I ordered the steak and lobster thermidor for $54.it was a tiny tough steak with 4 tiny pieces of lobster that took 45 minutes to cook, my wife and daughters meals were fair at best…we were both going to have the King Crab until we found out it was $109 each, the bill was $149 before tip. It was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had and the service was not much better. The view was nice as usual but I won’t be back. Very Very disappointed

No air conditioning in the entire place. Plus the poor servers wear long pants and long shirts. Can the restaurant not afford it, with these menu prices? Never coming here again.

My wife’s birthday was last night and she wanted to go here for a great dinner and view. We have been here multiple times and enjoyed our meals.
Last night we arrived and no parking. We drove around and no parking. Park goers parked in restaurants lot and no parking anywhere.
Went in and Manager told my wife to park at sky train station and walk.
We both are wearing nice clothes and it was a warm evening. I could only imagine how sweaty I’d be upon arrival. Anyways we cancelled and went elsewhere.
My wife was told that the restaurant has contacted the city and this has been an ongoing problem. My thought is, if they are recommending to park at moody centre, then get a shuttle for people!
We won’t be back and will spend our money in Maple Ridge or Langley where parking is ample.

Just not what it used to be. Really not worth it. The parent company Landry's doesn't care either. It also looks like they don't care about these reviews with the generic request for "feedback" in every complaint without any attempt to resolve.

Love this place for brunch, they open at 10 am and we always book in advance, seating by the terrace even in winter is super cool, you can see the pier and the water side, they have heaters and that is not an issue on winter, summer is super fresh and some times we have late lunch or dinner but we rather go for a breakfast.

For a place like this I expected better. Order mixed seafood dish and the food wasn't hot, I found the flavouring a bit bland. I don't think I would go back.

Good service until we waited for the bill. After ten minutes I went to the front where the waitress said she'd be back, I told her I was leaving and paid at the front desk and left a low tip. I was tempted to leave $1.

Quite expensive for very little seafood. Good views from the window but there are better and cheaper seafood restaurants out there.

Parking can be impossible. If we did not have reservations, we would have gone elsewhere.

After circling the lot many times, we needed to park about 3 or 4 blocks away in a dusty industrial zone. Reading other reviews, this is a common problem.

We noted in our reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion, which the restaurant did nothing to acknowledge.

View and ambience are great, particularly if you get a window table.

Food ranged from OK/Good to downright awful. The Korean Chicken sandwich was nearly inedible. Thankfully I was able to send it back and order something else.

I choose a simple salad instead as others in my party already had their meals, but it still took a long time and I had to eat alone.

Service was polite, but not especially attentive. Had to request water twice.

Prices have gone up everywhere, but more so here it seems. Dinner for 4 can easily run $300.

My family and I had an excellent time at the boat house we thought everything was great without a single complaint about the food, service or atmosphere. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for dinner for a special event.

Came here to park and eat my lunch but I've been driving in circle in the parking lot because everyone from the park is parking here and this is extremely unfair to a paying restaurant customer by law or boathouse should not let this happen.

Met expectations, food was good. Was happy with the friendly servers as they were attentive at filling water and helpful when asked. If I had a complaint it would be the small serving sizes. Overall a nice place though.

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful birthday's celebration today at The Boathouse Restaurant! Our lunch was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was perfect with beautiful waterfront Outlook to Belacarra!
Highly recommended!

The setting is why you would come out to the suburbs for this restaurant. This Boathouse is in Port Moody and on a sunny day, a very picturesque backdrop- ocean and mountains in a large wood beamed chalet style restaurant. There is another Boathouse in Kitsilano in Vancouver (busier, right on the beach, also a nice spot if in the city). The food is ok, but nothing spectacular. Service was good- and they managed a very large group well with a fixed menu. I would suggest this restaurant for a special event like a retirement party or something akin- they do nice pre- party arrangements with a large group. This would also be nice for a special family dinner and could even be nice for a couple wanting to watch the sun set over the water on a summer evening. I wouldn’t necessarily drive out to Port Moody, from Vancouver, for this- but if you live in the area, I would recommend for the setting. Near Rocky Point Park.

I went for dinner with my friend and our waiter Tara was amazing. Tara was attentive and efficient. Had a great meal filled with laughs and great service. Good job boathouse with the amazing staff.

Loved the view of the water and backdrop of mountains. Arctic Char and cheesy tortellini were very tasty. Love that this place is accessible by train from downtown Vancouver. Makes for a nice lunch trip.

Service was amazing. We had a few allergies that needed accommodating and the waitress went back and forward a few times to check various sauces and ingredients. I wish there were a few clearly labelled seafood free options, but everyone eventually found something! Food was delicious and I had lots for lunch the next day. The restaurant is lovely inside and we had a great view of Rocky Point. We had the Calamari, the Northwest Seafood Pasta, the Mixed Seafood Grill, Fish and Chips, the Roasted Chicken, and the Korean Chicken Burger.

The food is okay. It’s nothing special; it’s what you’ll find at Cactus Club, etc. Also very expensive for what you’re getting. The service is bad. Our waiter forgot about us and we had to get water from the bar, much to the annoyance of the bartender. I didn’t leave a tip. Nice location though.

It is a wonderful place to go with family or friends, even large groups. Also for romantic dates. Varieties of drinks and menus. They have crayons for the kids.
The only bad thing is to say that the dessert has dulce de leche when it is a tiny decorative line, it breaks the Argentine heart… Excellent service and atmosphere.

I worked there for 2 years as a line cook, the food is what you’d expect for the price and the customer service is almost always great. The building itself is amazing and I highly recommend going during sunset.

Really cool place on the banks, right next to Rocky Point Park. Excellent Ambience and a great place for enjoying drinks and snacks next to the water.

We ordered Spicy Tuna with Crispy Rice, Impossible Lettuce Wraps, Sea Salt Fries, Sangria and Iced Tea.

All items were tasty and the Spicy Tuna was very unique… and the Impossible Lettuce wrap tasted good. The Sangria wasn’t great but the iced tea was really good.

Very polite and good service and a great place to come and enjoy… Definitely pricey but You pay for the views and ambience…

The restaurant located in a good location. It is beside the ocean and if you sit on any ocean view table, you will have lovely time, especially at sunset and night when the lights are on.
The food was just Ok, and it wasn’t that yummy that I was expected. The price was not expensive but in comparison with the food taste and the way of serving, I would say the price is high because you can find better dishes with lower price in other restaurants.
We ordered steak and mix seafood grill. They didn’t have any diverse side dish, the steak just served with carrot, zucchini, and mashed potato; and the mixed grill came with carrot, zucchini, and rice. The portion was good. For the dessert, we ordered ice cream which was a simple one with a small piece of strawberry on it. In total it was a good experience just because of the location and ocean, and the nice atmosphere. If you want to have a romantic date, it would be a good place to go in the afternoon and make sure to book an ocean view table in advance.

I went to this restaurant with a friend on Feb. 20,2022, around 6: 30 pm for dinner, but we had to leave with a bad experience because of the poor treatment we received from Ariel (sever named on the receipt) ;
When she approached our table to collect money with the device in her hand, I accidentally pressed the wrong button, but she was visibly upset, showed us frustration, and then angrily asked me to try again. Her (Ariel) reaction was so extreme.
We felt a range of emotions. "What's going on with this tall lady? "
We were genuinely disappointed by the lack of professionalism toward a customer.
It was one of the lousy evenings for us.
