So much to selection! Two buildings separated by Fiction and Non-Fiction. Lovely staff and cozy environment.

Goated bookstore. You can rent movies too, they got recent releases and a surprising amount of old movies if you ask.

I called and asked if they had a couple of books I was looking for. The person I spoke with was friendly and very helpful. She said they had the books and would I like them put aside for me to pick up later. And when I arrived at the shop a few days later the whole staff was friendly and welcoming. Great service and a nice store!

The staff are friendly and helpful and the selection of books is quite extensive! A great place to go to find the perfect way to spend a lazy or rainy day or that obscure book you just can't seem to find anywhere, a visit to The Book Shop is sure to be an enjoyable experience for anyone.

Wow it's unbelievable how many books they have in that store. Always new material coming thru. The staff were very engaging.

The best book store in Western Canada - without a doubt. Fantastic selection with practically every book there is. I love walking through this store and simply getting lost - something you can't get in an Indigo/Chapters. Staff are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, friendly, and attentive. Wonderful old book smell too!

Don't miss an opportunity to visit this secondhand bookstore in Penticton, It's been around for decades; great ambience.

I enjoy traveling around the world when possible and make a point of visiting any notable book store I can. Without a doubt, this is still my absolute favorite bookstore I have ever visited. Definitely come and check it out.

An absolutely overwhelming number of books fill this massive shop. If you're a book lover you're going to want to set aside AT LEAST an hour for a visit here, but more likely you could spend an entire afternoon easily.

Knowledgeable friendly staff, SO MANY BOOKS somehow organized in an amazing way.so great. I also had them ship a book for me and the customer service was outstanding. THE BEST!

This is the most awesome used books store I have ever shopped at. The staff person today was very helpful when I specifically asked for large print, mystery books, he led me directly to the spot and I found a great variety that meet my expectations.

Great selection! But asking 50% above original cover price doesn't seem inline with honest pricing practices.

I will definitely be going back. So many choices and sections. Stools throughout the stores were really helpful. I spent about an hour in here and it was not enough time at all. It's not a mainstream kind of book store. I recommend 100% for those who enjoy the old fashion of sense of truly looking for old style books and more.

Amazing used bookstore. I bought two paperback novels in great condition for just $5 each. They have quite a large selection and are definitely more organized than others I’ve been to.

Couldn't find my books. But they have lots of books for good prices. I would suggest going there for topics that don't change much. You will not find the newest books. Lots of old popular books.

Always find something to pick up here when we are in town. Many different sections to browse for books. Way tooooo many books to look at. Need to aim for choices or its overwhelming. Good prices too.

I mean. This place is a Penticton institution. You'll always pay less than new here for whatever book you're looking for, and there's certainly no shortage of selection. I recently went and acquired a whole host of philosophy books and was astonished by their breadth of selection for that subject alone. Highly recommend visiting!

Loaded with an amazing selection of books, mostly used.
Not a store for the claustrophobic, and difficult to move around if it's busy, can be difficult to find a specific book but, if you ask, the staff take you to the subject area or genre and are super knowledgeable.

A very large used bookstore with a massive selection of books. Highly worth a visit but just expect to spend at least an hour in there because it's easy to lost track of time. It's well organized for a used bookstore and especially for one of this size

Stuffed to the rafters with amazing used books! These kids of stores are my favourite!:) I love to spend time browsing, but I needed a specific book the second time I was in and didn't have time to explore. I didn't know where to start looking but I asked a staff member and they were able to point me to the exact section of shelf space where that book was living.

If you like old books and treasure hunting, this is your store. It's stocked with something for everyone and the staff is fantastic! I have been shopping here for over 25 years - since I was a kid! - and I always manage to find something great. If you can't find something, ask the amazing people that work there. They are always ready to help!

Wow! I will be back for sure, I want to say soon but I ended up walking out with so much reading material to probably keep me busy all summer!

Incredible experience. The selection of books is so vast that you’re guaranteed to find something that speaks to you. The staff are very helpful and the layout of the store made me feel like I was walking in a treasure chest with every turn leading to a new section that I didn’t expect to see. Definitely one of my absolute favourite places in Penticton and I can’t wait to visit again!

Incredible amount of books and the prices are good but the owners are racist and hates other people pets. Been kicked out and asked to never come back again because my friends and I were speaking french and the owner's doggs did not like ours

My husband says "It"s a good thing we do not live in Penticton as I would spend every cent I make in this store.it is THAT GOOD! I love it.my 8 & 10 yro girls love it! Definitely one of our go to stops when we are in town.sometimes its the first place we visit! If you love good books.you must go here. Prices are fair.

Amazing place if you love books. We are from Edmonton and are in Penticton every summer. We visit at least once everytime we are back. So much selection and organized so well.

Support Pam Stevenson and her kids and staff and go buy a book or two or twenty at this stupendous used bookstore-one of the best in western Canada. Feels like it takes up half the block. (Likely it is charmed with the undetectable extension charm like Perkins Tent at the Quidditch World Cup in the Harry Potter book.) Find out for yourself!

If you love books, you’ll love this spot. It is noted as the largest second hand book store in Canada and I believe it! Great selection for pretty much any category/subject you are looking for. Prices range depending on the type of book. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Happy book hunting!
