Tried this place with the family. The food was good. The Hong Kong milk tea is always a classic. The congee was tasty. Can’t go wrong with the fried flat noodles with beef. I would come back again. Service was quick.

Boss restaurant is my #1 spot for quick Chinese food. Reasonable price and quick service. Even on weekends, wait times are short.

It's ok. After many years of coming to patronize this place. We came for lunch after a long absence. The food is different, as the cooks have all changed out. Congee is not what we expected. Just different. Local coffee is ok. We won't return anytime soon.

Food was good. Don't expect us to tip you anything if you don't provide any service. It's not that we got bad service, there literally was no service at all when we dined in. Service is service, guests at your establishment shouldn't have to frantically wave down servers to get any kind of service. For zero service, you are getting a zero tip. Sorry, not sorry.

The Boss offers a clean, modern updated setting. The food is decent and is always served quickly. And the portions have gotten better again over the past year. The breakfast combos and set menu specials remain a good value even with the price increases.

This is a popular restaurant, so wait times can be long when the mall is busy. And they still only take cash payment.

The long waiting time + menu is not worth of it than just the same as food court on the top floor, it is almost like serve fast food at restaurant.

I love their all day breakfast. Reasonably priced but portion is on the smaller side. The one star is taken off because their service is quite slow, they won't call anyone in even though there were four to five clean tables available.

Excellent Chinese breakfast. The seemly plain eggs were unusually good. Regular scrambled eggs or eggs over easy was spectacular for some reason.

10 years ago: we used to visit this Hong Kong style diner once, sometimes twice a week. Possibly the most unfriendly hostess in Vancouver (50s, glasses-who never acknowledged us as regular customers ("nice to see you again! "), but simply asked "how many people? " over and over again. It was funny, actually. However-the specials were reasonably priced, the portions were generous and the food was tasty.

Today: said unfriendly hostess didn't even acknowledge us. The prices are now ridiculous for what you get, and the portions are smaller. What's worse is that Beef Rice Noodles (a popular HK dish) has barely any beef in it! Give this rip-off joint a miss and try Neptune, further down the mall. We won't be back.

Look of restaurant is very nice, clean, and modern. Servers were fine, not rude and good paced service. However, was presented with crumpled paper menus. Food choices are quite limited, doesn't have many dishes you would find at other Chinese restaurant. Even with the limited options, the food was still quite underwhelming. Definitely expected better tasting and more appealing food from such a presentable restaurant. Food did not taste bad, but was quite subpar. Some dishes like the spaghetti had quite off-putting colours and flavours one would quickly become sick of. Would recommend going to Crystal Mall and getting good, authentic Chinese food for a lower price instead.

I ordered a “Medium” steak and what they gave me was basically raw. They also don’t speak English so I had trouble explaining that I did not think this was edible.

Serving the equivalent of Hong Kong style fast-to-your-table eats efficiently. Food is OK and mostly genuine in flavor. But portions on the deal menu are small unless you pay for the full size portions which are both pricey (what isn't these days) but at least overly large. Waiting staff are typical HK style friendly, meaning prompt but curt. Biggest disappointment was I found food on the edge of my seat too late (probably a child sitting there before) and it got my pants dirty. Come here for a quick meal before a movie if you're not feeling the food court. Otherwise not overly memorable.

Food is pretty good. And you could order something not in the menu, and they will try their best to serve you.

Most of the staffs are polite and friendly. There's only one lady who is not friendly at all, and you could easily spot her by her dressing code.she probably is the owner or closely related to the owner.

I don’t know why this place is rated so low. This is a cafe-style restaurant so it’s a lot more casual and the food aren’t fancy. The service and food are definitely on the better side of Chinese restaurants. We ordered the French Toast combo, herbal chicken noodles and beef tongue spaghetti combo. The toast was huge and the salad that came with it was decent. The beef tongue was very tender and lean. I think they give ~1/2 of a chicken for the herbal chicken dish (I couldn’t finish by myself), and plenty of noodles. The soup had a ton of goji berries and was definitely stewed with real chicken for; there might be MSG but def not to the point where I could taste it. Prices are reasonable for the service, cleanliness, quality of food and the proportions of food. It’s a great restaurant to grab a quick meal.

A canto style diner right in the mall of Metrotown; situated above of T&T or next to Walmart on the inside of the second floor. Modern and clean decor with tea served at the table promptly. There’s no physical menu but were told to scan a QR code with our mobile phone for an online version. Ordered only 2 dishes. The appetizer frying fish was so so, it should really come with a dipping sauce otherwise it’s kind of dry. The plate of rice noodle was quite big with lots of tender beef. The service could be better. Few times I called, despite seeing me they ignored me. I would expect a nod and mention that you will be there when you can. If you plan on packing food, expect to be charged 25 cents per container. I would come back for a take out but not sitting in. Plz give me a thumbs up if you like this review.

The best Cantonese restaurant of Burnaby! Always top quality. Everything I’ve tried so far was better than any other palaces!

Breakfast tastes good. I like the Hong Kong style milk tea. Gave four stars because we waited more than 30 minutes on a Sunday. My husband ordered the sausage and egg breakfast, I was surprised there was only one small sausage. The portion was not enough. On the other hand, I ordered the breaded fish filet and egg breakfast and the filet was a decent size.

Yummy comfort food! I had their combo dinner of creamy clam spaghetti and pop with a side of baked beef tongue…. Love it! Would recommend and definitely go back.)

Used to be one of our favorite HK style restaurant in Metrotown. This was our first time there after COVID and food were very disappointing compared to before. No wonder there was no line up.

First experience here. This place is fairly priced. Reasonably tasty Chinese food. We live in an era where thanks to reckless government fiscal and monetary policy, inflation is out of control and 30-80% inflation in dining out is the norm.

Very rude service and puts whole finger inside my serving bowl when delivering to the table. Hope Metrotown have more choices of this type of restaurant.

Stopped by here for breakfast with the family.

Hong Kong Style Coffee - Horrible. Being a coffee lover this is something I would never order again. I’m not sure what it was but it’s not coffee.

Hong Kong Ice Lemon Tea - This was really good. I ordered this after the HK coffee was a fail.

Breakfast combos seemed to have a lot of value. You get a drink, a pineapple bun, soup noodles and 2 eggs and your choice of meat either bacon or steak.

Pineapple bun - was nice and warm and was soft and fluffy. Served with butter.

The steak - slightly over cooked with almost no seasoning. This is a cheap cut and almost had a slight liver taste.

Bacon and Eggs - bacon was fine, not burnt and the eggs were cooked to our preference.

Soup and noodles with beef brisket - this was good. Lots of flavour in the brisket and was of course Asian style.

Soup and noodle with chicken - not overly salty. Broth was decent. The chicken was ground chicken. Not much flavour in the chicken. Served with a few peas.

Kway Teow - this was good dish. Flat rice noodles with a slightly sweet flavour from the soy sauce and a bit of charred taste as well. Good portion size of beef too.

All the food here is great. I got the shredded chicken spaghetti, totally had a craving for it, and the beef brisket curry rice. Both delicious and hit the spot. Food comes quickly and staff are efficient. The spaghetti dish is quite large so I get to eat it again tomorrow

Note that it's cash only. There's dividers between all the tables, so that's good. Expect about a 30 min wait during the lunch rush. Their ticket system is pretty good so you'll know when it's almost your turn.
