The Break Cafe & Bistro

I love breakfast/brunch and all things coffee, and this place hit every single box on my food run while in Ukee! I loved walking into the cafe, being greeted amongst the friendliest of faces, and even getting to speak with the owner/chef himself. The vibes were so welcoming and a beautiful space they have created -from the local art displayed, to an open-concept kitchen where you get to see where the magic happens, ha. My first time in was so good, that I came back the next day! Quality of the food sourced local (from pickled chanterelles to house-made breads), atmosphere, and overall experience was much appreciated. I had their tomato/chanterelles on toast with an americano, followed up with a maple bacon sandwich I devoured too quickly ha! We love this place! The prawn roll was outstanding 10/10. It was fresh, and delicious. There’s something special happening in that kitchen, we will most definitely be back.

Every time I go to the break I hold up the line because I cannot decide what pasty to get because they are all SO GOOD (and I usually end up getting at least two). Couldn’t recommend this place more, amazing food, amazing coffee, and even more amazing staff:)

Beautiful pastries. Wonderful staff and attentive service. We loved it so much that we went back twice, once for lunch, and another time to get some merch before we hit the road home.

Pathetic coffee and desert place. Prices are jacked up because it’s close to the water. Croissants were doughy and seemed like one day old. Try another place if you don’t want to ruin your morning coffee

It isn’t for breakfast! U can’t took a Bread for breakfast! But if u want a bread for lunch is good!

Two words: Almond Croissant.
I don’t know what they put in their almond croissants but let me tell you…it’s an experience. I don’t even really like almond croissants. But these bad boys are my go to treat. I’m drooling just thinking about them.

Also, their sandwiches are sooo good. The Bagel and Lox? **chefs kiss**

Best spot in Ucluelet for coffees and food! Amazing location, professional and welcoming staff! The prosciutto sandwich blew my socks right off. The dishes here are elevated above just cafe fare. Buckle up and be ready to be transported to cafe heaven. 10/10 I go everyday!

It was unexpectedly excellent. I really recommend it. The coffee was a real espresso, which I had been waiting for a long time.

If you’re staying in Ucluelet and you don’t come here you’re blowing it. If you’re staying in Tofino it’s worth the trip to Ucluelet just to eat here. The food is damn good.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere, incredible baked goods and lox + cream cheese bagel. Can’t fault it, well worth a visit. The whole team seems like a really nice friendly bunch too.

All very greasy, the flaky pastry dripping grease from underneath, the cruffin really bad.

We didn’t love our experience at this café. The menu was limiting and didn’t offer many vegetarian options, the staff were annoyed to be there and the vibe was just a little off. Maybe it was just bad timing but the coffee was just ok, the philly steak sandwich made us feel sick right away and the pastries were not great. The best thing we had there was the orange and almond vegan cake, now that was delicious. Just not my scene, I won’t be going back.

I had the pleasure of visiting this lovely coffee shop and cafe, and I was truly impressed. The food was absolutely fantastic, offering a delightful range of flavors. The coffee was equally remarkable, with a great selection and expert preparation (the art!). I highly recommend visiting The Break if you’re in the area!

Breakfast here on the third day of our trip. We wanted a quick, on the go meal because we were doing some hikes and this place piqued our interest. Selection was phenomenal, hard to choose. We decided on the ham and egg brioche. It was hands down one of the best things I have eaten this entire trip to the island. Hats off to the owners. Definitely recommend trying this place, everything looked good. Service was outstanding. Would definitely go back.

I have eaten and baked a lot of croissants in my life, the almond croissant here was easily the best one I have ever had. Lovely atmosphere and super friendly people:). Seriously get the almond croissant

Great coffee. Loved the BLT and breakfast baking like the cherry chocolate cruffin and the cookies. Enjoyed eating on the picnic tables outside.
