To buy a good biriyani is hard these days. Recommendation's: Even if you're serving frozen rice, kindly try to fluff it up properly before plating it on top of the gravy. Chunks of cold sticky rice is not a good thing. Spicy should mean the food gives a warm sensation from all the spices, and it shouldn't mean you should throw in a lot of red chilli powder to increase the scoville level cause that's just bad cooking (red chilli is just a part of providing that sensation), and it makes the dish unpalatable so kindly do something about it, at least with the biriyani. Please add more curd in raitha, isn't it used to mellow out the spice level or to increase creaminess of each spoonful of biriyani, if anyone needs salad with their biriyani they will order a bowl of it separately, don't have to stuff all the veggies in raitha. Kindly add more fried onions as toppings rather than charred ones, and yes charred onions makes sense if it is to counter food poison, but not in that quantity and it did not work for me, I still had troubles (food poisoning). Table touching, check what it is and see if it can be implemented at least once with each customers, it at least gives customers that face time to ask for water or something else from the menu, before they are done with the first course of meal.

Great experience. Food environment everything is good. I had biryani and i loved it. Manager Mr. Ghuman is awesome. 10 outta 10 to Coconut. My new weekly lunch stop.

The service was pathatic. For Onion uttapam and mysore malasa dosa waited for more than 40 mins and have to ask how long it will take and next minute it was served. Other tables who came and ordered Dosa after us were served before. On top Onion uttapam was uncooked and thick. The excuse for the delay was they can make only 1 DOSA at a time then why we were not informed that we can't take order for 2 DOSAS or we are busy so don't offer it. NEVER GOT SUCH EXCUSE at any restaurant. They should get 0 stars for such service and food. When informed that uttapam is uncooked, the response was will inform the cook. I wasted $31 with them even BILL printout was not offered.

Visited this store while coming from North Vancouver and wouldn't recommend any East Indian to eat here.

Recent 1 star reviews clearly shows this business have bad service and the food is not good. Clearly server thinks that she remembers everything while taking order and provide bad service. Asks how is the food and when you tell her there is issue then sorry we can't do anything you have to pay for bad food n service.

Fantastic food, nice atmosphere. Loved the staff. One of the best Indian food had in many years.

When someone is ordering take out you must ask for spoon and napkins or you must give some with takeout

First of all its not a South Indian restaurant. Dont get confused with menu. The service was very bad and long wait time to take the order and get the food.if they can say you have to wait 45 mnts to order your food, people cab look for better options. Secondly low quality and overpriced food.

I went here for the lunch.
Ambience is good and service as well.
Now comes the main thing which is food. We ordered pepper chicken which was full of turmeric and pepper. I didn't like the taste much. It was okayish. Ingredients used were also just okay. Cant say very fresh yumm or amazing. Then we also tried fish pakora but it was not upto the mark.
Overall, i liked the ambience and service but food wasn't very well or tasty.

Poor service, worst experience got at a restaurant. Servers wont even look at you or ask you if you need something. Disappointed and had to go to another restaurant to eat. Didn’t get what we paid for.

Visiting Kamloops for the first time and we decided to dine at the Coconut where the food was absolutely delicious especially our family favourite was the beef pepper fry:) the food felt like home cooked where we were invited to a friends place for dinner. Will definitely come back to dine when we visit Kamloops in the future and with surely recommend to friends visiting.

Some of the best chicken tikka masala I've had. The masala dosa and chicken biryani were also really good.

Come to Kamloops for work. Visit here twice so far. The food is fantastic here. Chicken tika on clay oven is amazing. Reasonable price. Employee is very nice. We will definitely come back again when we visit Kamloops.

This is first time, Im really feeling disappointed with coconut restaurant food. I ordered schezwan chicken fried rice, the sauce’s were too high in it and told the staff to re-do it again then they added chilly flakes and gave it back to me. It doesnt mean to add more chilly spices when sauces are high. I also work for restaurant, I know that we cannot cancel customers order and will re-do it if its not good.

Atmosphere here was really nice and people were really good too. Food was really good too (for people who wanna eat spicyyyyy food). Would definitely recommend this place.

A humble request to the owner/proprietor.
The food was okay but the service was awful and terrible.
Service is the key for the success any restuarant and just do a random behaviour check of your staffs and managers. Their behaviour was terrible and felt like they don't really care about the owner or the business.
Hire someone who's responsible and loyal to the business/owner

Pav bhaji was very tasty. Staff was sweet. Sambar vada was too good as well! Would definitely drop by again!

This time i visited the restaurant. 1st they took the order but served incomplete food. Then no one came to our table to acknowledge. Later, paid for full food and received no concession on food. Plus, when i was leaving, I thought to atleast address my points and felt not being heard and the manager/cook was smiling continuously as in his time was getting wasted and we don't matter to him being his restaurant's customer. I felt pathetic and left starving to eat at another restaurant.

Sorry folks - this was just okay food. Sadly the service was lacking and needs real help and leadership.

Dosa was amazing and didn't disappoint. We shared a vegetable starter and a simple desert. The gentleman that served us was very friendly and competent and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We will be back for sure.

Food was phenomenal: jerk chicken was packed with flavour. Lamb shank was great. Dosa was crispy. Vegetables were crunchy. Highly recommend. Waitress was very helpful.

Ambiance and service was top class. Food we tried was great. The best part was the price. It was very affordable. Thank you Coconut we had a really good time.

My family has come here ever since it's opening and has dubbed it "our favourite". Today on my nani's birthday they helped me tremendously with figuring out an alternative payment method when I forgot my wallet. See my nani died during covid and it has become my families tradition to order on her birthday and death date to honour her memory as 1st generation Canadians that did not inherit her amazing skills at cooking. The staff have always been amazing, friendly and of course the owner and cooks kill it in the kitchen. I highly recommend them. I refuse to go anywhere else in town!

Last nite staying in Kamloops from the 55 +Games. Went here for supper. If you love a party in your mouth with such wonderful well balanced flavours this is the place for you! Fantastic food.

Fantastic, the food definitely matches the quality of the other top curry houses in town, while also keeping your bill cheaper than the other places. Sometimes, you don't need a view of the valley while you eat, and the money you save eating here vs Nandi's or Spice is totally worth it. They serve dosa as well, which is really great if you haven't tried before. North and South Indian cuisine are both delicious and this place excels in both.

Our first trip to the Kamloops, and looking for different food than we get in rural Washington state, we chose this restaurant. It is a busy and colorful restaurant full of locals. The Indian population far outnumbered others, translation, good food and good prices. The staff were gentile, kind and prompt despite working a restaurant full of folks; a tough job when several tables were occupied at once by two different groups of 10 or more coming to be seated. Our waitress, a nice young lady walked us through what we might enjoy, and her selections were wonderful. I do wish they had corkage fee, but they do not. This place, my guess, will be around for decades as a go to place for a good meal.

Parotta and Pepper Beef with Coconut (dry) is the best in the interior of British Columbia. I really want to commend the chefs. Portions are very fair and quality is definitely top notch.

Me and my friends are from Ontario. We were on vacations to Alberta and British Columbia. We stopped in Kamploops to have our lunch. We went to The Coconut and order bunch oc their menu items. One of them was Chilli Paneer Dosa. OMG, That was one of the best Dosa i ever had in my life. My Friends order Uttpam as well and after Having their meal they also eat my DOSA. I beg you guys please open some of your branches in Ontario as well. We need you.

Food is really good but if your kids are super hungry after a long road trip, then be prepared to wait a little if they're busy.

The coconut konju soup is delicious and would highly recommend. Dosas are really good. Really enjoyed the plain and chilly cheese dosas.

Had the mango chicken, asked for mild and it was really good! Still a bit spicy, so be aware if you have low tolerance to spice. It is Indian after all! Bit pricey but what can you expect in this area? Cheers!

Mind blowing flavours, dosa both soft and crispy (i know what a paradox). Excellent presentation. Set aside some extra time, slightly longer wait is worth it for an amazing experience.

There's no authenticity in the food. The dosas were very thick and the stuffing was not so good. I won't recommend it.

The chicken biryani was exceptionally good. But they are fooling customers with their dosas. They charge extra for additional sambhar.understood! But they gave half full bowl of sambhar with the initial order. Upon showing the same and asking for more, they didn't say anything.after some time when I asked again they said that is chargeable and whatever came, came directly from the kitchen. Weird tactics to fool customers and charge us more for petty things. Such a good restaurant but with cheap tricks won't last long!

Just ordered from The Coconut for the first time tonight and absolutely loved everything about it! I've been looking for a new place to get Butter Chicken since The Raj Indian Kitchen lost my families business, and this is definitely going to be my new go-to! The butter chicken was so good and the garlic Naan was to die for! Will be telling my family and friends about this place, can't say enough good things. Definitely the best in town by far. Thank you guys

This is my favourite restaurant for an excellent butter curry meal … just love it! To add to this they provide first class service.

Brilliant food. Best somosas and garlic naan anywhere. Have been eating their food since it was a little booth in a food court, it has only gotten better since, never had a bad meal. Good options for vegs. Quite reasonable prices, low key and maybe the best restaurant in Kamloops. BTW, if there are empty seats, and you want to eat there, it's because of covid restrictions.

What a great lunch my wife and I enjoyed on Monday September 13,2021 at the Coconut! If you’re downtown in Kamloops, looking for a great Indian lunch or dinner, you’re missing out if you don’t stop at The Coconut. We were greeted and taken to our table right away. The waiter was attentive and keen to answer any questions without being intrusive. We had a great chicken Saag, with Naan bread for dipping as well as some rice and an order of samosas. Sometimes I find that a vegetarian friendly place tends to be a bit cheap on the protein when it’s part of a dish. Not so at The Coconut! There was plenty of chicken in there. Lunch came promptly. The sauce had a wonderful depth to it. This isn’t something done from a bag, this is something prepared with loving care.
I’m pretty keen on my protein, and my wife likes both vegetarian and meat dishes. Those samosas were outstanding! They are vegetarian but had amazing flavour to them, and were paired with a nice tamarind sauce. Both my wife and I thought they were some of the best we’d had.
Check out the Coconut. My wife and I have had Indian many times in many places. The Coconut was great!

We were passing through and found The Coconut by chance. Very glad we did. An excellent kitchen, friendly service, and every dish we tried was superb. This will be our new go-to when in Kamloops.

Great food & wonderful service. The chicken jalfrezi was so good! If you haven't been to The Coconut, you should give it a try.

Had an awesome lunch here on our Anniversary. Definitely going back, Indian food is so amazing, our food is so boring and bland by way of comparison.

I got great takeout from here. I always like the butter chicken with nann bread. Excited to try something different one my next visit.

Good food and good host. It was quite busy on Sunday afternoon and we had to wait for a table. But the food was good and worth the wait.
