The Copper Pit

The food and service here is AMAZING. Have tried several things on the menu and loved them all! The smoked meat is in several dishes and the flavor is so good. A must place to eat if you are in Peinceton

Excellent 10 star service from Kandice. Very friendly and accommodating with my dislike of brussel sprouts. Turkey dinner was substantial, but unfortunately, it was a bit dry.

We go thru Princeton quite a few times a year. We decided to support a local business, came in, told to sit wherever. The only server on dropped menus, came back a bit later and took our order. Basic breaky. We did get our drinks. 20 min after we got there some locals came in, cleaned their own table and server took their order. 10 min later another local came in, the cook took his order. Both these tables were served their food before ours! We waited 45 minutes, no food in sight. We paid for our drinks and left. I guess if you're not local you don't matter. We won't make this mistake again. How disappointing.

Horrible service sat for 15 mins with no server even asking for drinks. They sat 5 tables behind us that all Got served. Not impressed at all.

The brisket sandwich was excellent - juicy and tender. The pulled pork sandwich was not too shabby either! The chicken strips was about average. Overall atmosphere was good.
Next door to the excellent regional museum. Plenty of street parking.
Will visit again next time I'm in the Princeton area.

Wow the big platter was amazing! Beef, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, sausage, beans, coleslaw, all of it was delicious. There was 5 of us guys and it was plenty. Smoked homemade everything, and it was GOOD.

Sweet gem in town my spouse and I found today. We will definitely come back next time we are in town. Large portions and nice waitresses. Compliments to all the staff.

After a disappointing start to the morning and breakfast at another restaurant in the area, lunch time was a HUGE turn around and success with The Copper Pit! Authentic smoked meals, made fresh fresh fresh, and HUGE portions!

The servers were super nice and attentive. Everyone there was happy and having a great time!

My only little suggestion is some artwork on the walls. They looked a tad unfinished, but I mean, I WAS staring more at my plate than the walls, so consider that nit picky!

We were already planning our return at first bite! Cannot wait!

Not super fancy but the atmosphere is good and the food is good as well, at least what we had, the wings.

Definitely did not expect such an unbelievable bbq experience coming here.

Best thing on the plate was the brisket but everything was amazing.

The burger and beer where delicious! Fries where subpar but I would definitely come again when I’m in Princeton.

Service was great! My beef dip was a little fatty which made it hard to eat. Boyfriend loved the mac and cheese you have!

What a great lunch we had! Food was good and the service was great! Our server went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. Much appreciated!

Didn't see a lot of breakfast reviews so we took a chance, and it paid off. Portions are huge AND the quality is excellent. Bacon was crisp, my breakfast burrito was delicious (and about 2x the size I could use eat). Munchkin loved her bacon too. And surprisingly cheap too ($30 for two adults, kid food plus tip)

Nice atmosphere, good service.
The bacon cheeseburger was decent and worth the $15 as it was the daily special.
The wings on the other hand, 8 undersized pieces for $16 were an utter disgrace.
Fix that.

Amazing food and great atmosphere! The prices are extremely reasonable and the waitresses are very friendly. Food is served quickly and so are the drinks. The restaurant is always clean and always has people dining at it. I believe the fries to be hand cut and the burgers seem to be hand pressed. They don’t skip out on the attention to detail. I’d have to say they are one of, if not the best, places to eat in Princeton. You won’t be unhappy stopping here.

With recently moving to Princeton, this is our go to for dining/take out. We've never been dissapointed with any aspect of our order. The food, presentation and quality is top notch. The friendliest service every time. Copper Pit is THE place to go!

Stopped here on the way back from Osoyoos for some food on a Sunday and happened upon this place; we were not disappointed! Only downfall is it’s a long drive back if we ever want their brunch again! The portions were large and very tasty. We were a group of 6 and all got different brunch items and they were all great. The service was a little slow but good, they were great at communicating what was going on and were attentive. Will definitely go back!

Waited forever to get served. Had to ask multiple times to get the menu, then waited even longer to order. Would not recommend. Go to another place down the block.

Had a quick overnight stay in Princeton, and was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant. It was a bit strange to be walking along Vermillion Avenue on a weekday evening, feeling like there was no one around, and to find this restaurant nearly at capacity. Went in and tried their Pit Burger with a side caesar salad, and I have to say it was possibly the best burger I've ever had from a restaurant! The patty size was generous, the thick sliced bacon was cooked just right, and the pulled pork went incredibly well with it. Hope to pass through Princeton again soon to stop here again!

This came recommended by the motel we stayed in.unfortunately it was awful! 6: 30 pm on a Friday night, not very busy. They must have been short staffed or something. The patio table we were given was fill of sticky crud even after the waitress cleaned it off when we were seated. In the 20 minutes we waited for her to come back, I finally cleaned it off myself. A different waitress then came to see if we’d been taken care of and said ‘Jeez what’s going on here! ’ when we told her we had not ordered. She took our order for dinner, about another 8 min later brought a glass of white wine that was luke warm. She was very nice but her dirty uniform, dirty finger nails and overall unclean appearance had no appeal……. When we saw the family of 8 next to us that had been sitting there with stacks of dirty dishes in front of them since we walked in finally get up and go in to pay their bill we decided not to stay…… I would never bother to go back. It was just too unclean and seemed totally disorganized. Walked to another restaurant for a very nice meal with great service and clean tables!
My one star is really a minus 2 but that’s not an option offered.

Bar food with pit BBQ slant. Pleasantly impressed with quality of service and food. Big town execution in small town experience. I'd stop there again without hesitation.

Dog-friendly: you can tie your dog up outside the patio. Decent place. Big portions. You could share the smoked meat Mac n’ cheese with 2 other people and still be full. When we visited, there were only two servers for the entire restaurant and they seemed run off their feet but still pleasant.

I'd you are looking for lots of food this is the place to go in Princeton. Had the ribs with sides of mac'n'cheese and sweet potato fries. Great flavors but ribs were a little over cooked and could have used more sauce. Super busy on Wed night because of the wings special so be prepared to wait.

We stopped here for lunch on our return trip to the Lower Mainland. They have a lovely covered patio and the breeze was very welcome. The food was very nicely presented and was so good. Neither of us could finish what was on our plates, so good size portions. We would definitely come back on our next trip.

Great local BBQ joint that actually takes the time to smoke their meat. Solid food, friendly service and reasonable prices.

We stopped at the Copper Pit coming back from a tournament in Penticton - it's nice to eat at a local place as opposed to just another fast food joint. We came hungry and did not leave disappointed. Portions are big and prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. We started with some ribs to share - sticky, sweet, crispy - and then I had the Smokehouse Mac Daddy burger. It's definitely among my most memorable burgers; big, messy, filling, tasty, with - most importantly - a really good freshly ground beef patty as the foundation.yum. Service was great, staff were friendly, and we were in, fed, and out again in about 45 minutes. Shop local - you might be more than pleasantly surprised.

Our go to BBQ place in the Southern Interior of BC! The Copper Pit consistently exceeds expectations with their friendly and prompt service, and DELICIOUS smoked meats! Pictured here is the Pit Master Feast - enough brisket, pulled pork, ribs, sausage and chicken to feed 3 extremely hungry people. It includes a choice of two sides that you receive TWO servings of each! We always get the baked beans - incredibly flavourful and loaded with pulled pork bits. And to top it off? It's only $56 for a plate FULL of meat and all together 4 sides.

THIS IS A MUST TRY! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Also, their Smokehouse Caeser's are to die for! Perfect mix of salty, spicy, and loaded with pepperoncini peppers and pickled beans.

Took my brother-in-law to The Copper Pit for lunch today! Thanks Curtis for reserving a table for us, not sure who was in the kitchen, but, lunch was excellent and a special thanks to Melissa for her outstanding service! You guys rock!

Staff was friendly. Service was slow because there were so many tables for one waitress. Ribs were disappointing, dry and tough. Maybe they were leftover a from previous night?

Where have you been all my life? Like I can't even. Best Breakfast I never made. Straight up, maybe better than any breakfast I have made. Thank you from all my flavorbuds. Also thanks to the nice server. Efficient, Kind and good at your job. ️ Wishing I lived closer. Huge portions, amazing prices & high quality flavor! Great service to boot!

My friend & I stopped here on our Bikepacking trip across BC Monday June 6th.

We got to seat ourselves. And had a wonderful woman serve us. Food was absolutely excellent too

Our server also told us about a Punk festival happening in Princeton beginning of July

Everytime I go to Princeton I try to stop in for lunch or dinner. I have been here at least 6 times. The food has always been exceptional and the service has been great. I've never been disappointed. GREAT FOOD!

Original Review: Poor lighting and no ambience. Blah. There was a water shortage at the time in area and server didnt seem mindful of that. Food is pricy, overcooked, service was poor considering how slow it was. Mac and cheese not bad though.

Since I couldn't directly respond to the owners response I thought I would right here: Owner of Copper Pit - Thanks for taking the time to respond you obviously care about your business and glad you take a stand for it. And although I didn't' use the right words around water shortage and should have been boil water advisory it doesn't change the fact that we all don't know what we don't know and thanks for taking the time, effort, energy and expense to ensure the water is safe to drink, and also it's quite common practice for most places to ask customers how they want their water served - there was none of that.
I will say that my experience is my experience for that time I went in. And although it is your intent to deliver the best food and service - I can appreciate that. But that was not my experience. I'm quite sure based on other reviews and your regulars their experience is great - Wish you the best. Thanks again

Amazing food! I can understand why the locals flock here. We had the beef dip and the dipping sauce tasted like real roast beef. The beef in the sandwich was the most tender we have ever had.
Also had French oinion soup, hot and rich and flavourful. The Smoked house Mac and cheese is so yummy. Great size portions. Prices very reasonable. Friendly and fast. We will make it a regular stop when in Princeton.

Apart from the passive aggressive remarks from the server. Which made visiting my hometown quite upsetting.the place serves good food, but be prepared to be ignored by your server the entire time. Very disappointed with the service since we came the day before and was greater very warmly and served well. But the next day same server, had to sit while we waited to pay for our coffees for 20 minutes.
