The Dime

I visited The Dime twice in one week in late December and couldn't have had different experiences. The first evening I went, the service was good and food was delivered quickly. The second evening, the restaurant was absolutely slammed and there was only two servers. We had to find our own menus, wait an incredibly long time for waters and then when we got our food several items were missing (salsa and sour cream for quesadillas) and our appetizer came out after the mains. While the server did the best job they could, it was obvious they were understaffed. While I used to really enjoy The Dime, not sure I will be returning.

The most high quality low quality food and drink in the neighborhood. Everything is cheap and nothing is special but it’s all done very well. Stickers on the walls, skate videos on the TV’s, great music and quality cheap bar fare. Love this spot.

Great, easy-going place. I really enjoyed the music. We arrived relatively late in the evening, and they couldn't serve the majority of food anymore (out of ingredients). Waiter was incredibly patient, and they were willing to adapt the non-veggie food options to accomodate the vegetarians!

Alright, nothing great. A regular pub, can't use a debit card. Expensive drinks and ok food.

Friendly and attentive service with excellent food at exceptional prices. We shared the cauliflower and calamari appetizers as well as the salad with loads of healthy ingredients and tahini dressing. The $3 tequila shot was a very welcome treat. We sat in the quietest corner we could find. The music t all of this chain's restaurants tends to be good but too loud for my taste. Left happy and satisfied, will definitely return.

Im from Toronto and I came to BC to visit my cousin. This places chef is amazing and the service is great. (I had the spicy chicken sandwich, so delicious!) On top of the that the Atmosphere is 10/10.

Tam was amazing! Was super appreciative she and the kitchen let me know the falafel was too dry to serve instead of just giving me sub-par product. Great service, will be back many times.

The worse service ever, we were a group of 14 and after sitting more than 45 min and going through a disappointed at this place, we were told they’re out of food. One of their co workers purposely sat on a table of 6 so our group doesn’t sit. They are racist as another table had another group of 8 and not once they got a complaint, however we had 3 tables and we were constantly harassed on no more than group of 4 at each table. We wanted to order drinks and food and bring lots of business here, but clearly they don’t want that and have the worse customer service ever. Don’t recommend here to anyone unless you want your day to get ruined.

We were looking for a bargain for dinner and stopped here. Everything is less than $10. I had the burger with cheese and bacon. It was a nice thick patty and a good size. It was served with a good sized portion of fries. It was an excellent price of $10. My partner had the southwest salad. It was excellent as well with nice big chunks of chicken and avocado. We will definitely be back

Great food for some of the lowest prices in the city. This restaurant costs less than my university dining hall, yet serves food that’s far better. Cool atmosphere and nice staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to not break the bank on a decent restaurant meal

5 stars just because Ethan was a gem. He was so friendly, attentive, and on top of it. First time here but would come back for sure. Prices were also relatively good.

Some many grumpy people leaving reviews. Great place, great staff. Most of the time ive seen bad service here is due to customers being extremely rude to the staff. Not the workers fault they dont take debit. If you dont like it go somewhere else. You wont be missed

Food was ok but a sign on the door said cash or credit only no change, if a place is taking cash but will not give change even through I saw the bartender counting money in a box with coins and bills why can’t they give change. Staff were on their phones more then actually serving people. Over all this place has developed a sad atmosphere and not a place I will coming back any time soon

Usually love coming here, although yesterday got extreme Attitude from one of the servers. My friend was told his card wouldn’t work after she looked at it even though it is the same card he has always used there. After he asked if he could just give it try (because it had always worked) she scoffed at us and said “it’s not like I’ve worked here for years I think I know what will and won’t work” walks away and by the time she comes back we had successfully paid and then she tries to turn it around on us saying like “so it isn’t a debit card then” even tho she had looked at the card and said those weren’t accepted. After that she very aggressively took the machine and basically stomped away. My friends and I are younger so maybe she assumed she could get away with treating us that way, but as someone who is also in the serving industry I was quite blown away by how we were being treated. That has been my first time ever not tipping. Most definitely will be avoiding this location from now on
