The Jas Cafe

Really friendly service! The food was good. Really enjoyed having some new bakery options in town, especially on this end of town. However I think the menu has shifted the last couple months and it's not so much a Cafe as it is a Chinese restaurant now. Boba is okay, but no frozen option. Brown sugar milk is still pretty good though.

They really spruced the place up.

This place is a good local spot to visit for a quick breakfast or lunch. 20 mins drive from Nanaimo. The food taste great and is affordable, and its so convenient especially if you're just wanting a quick bite. They have Chinese dim sum, Japanese ramen, bubble teas and cakes available. The staff is great and super attentive. I will come back.

As others have said, the dim sum is fantastic (if a bit on the pricey side). Happy to support a small business in Ladysmith though! Will definitely eat here again, and recommend it to others.

Stopped at the Jas Cafe for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. My top delightfully delicious lunch experience from Victoria to Nanaimo!

Went for the dim sum, walked in and grabbed a slip of paper as instructed. Sat down and proceeded to wait for 15 minutes with no one offering a water, or even acknowledging us, and not a dim sum cart to be seen. It's not like they didn't see us sitting there, we were right in front of the counter and the only ones there. People continued to walk in and order coffee. Finally we just walked out as we still saw no signs of getting any service whatsoever. Horrendous service. They need to decide whether they are a coffee shop or serious about doing the dim sum thing and actually serve it. Likely won't be back.

Food of the highest quality. The atmosphere is perfect, too! This Cafe is run by a very kind and friendly couple, go meet them for yourselves! =)

It was a lovely place however, the syrup was on the bottom of my bubble tea because it wasn't poured on top of the ice. So there was no flavor to it because it was glued to the bottom.

Amazing little cafe! I got the breakfast sandwich and the bun was deliciously fluffy (the picture doesn’t do it justice!). The opera cakes were amazing as well, there were two flavours, berry vanilla and bailey’s. Beautiful and delicious! I found the cakes best when I let them come to room temp. I would definitely come again! Excited to try their bubble tea.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences at the Jas Cafe so far. The food and coffee are excellent and the staff and atmosphere are warm and welcoming. I recently placed an order for a custom birthday cake and it turned out perfectly and was totally delicious and Steph the pastry chef was so communicative throughout the entire process. Happy to have this gem in the neighbourhood to return to every week!

I am a picky eater, and not much of a sandwich person. However, hunger took over, and I just enjoyed a delicious coconut prawn sandwich, on a fresh bagel. So pleased to have this new cafe in our neighborhood.
