The Liberty Distillery

Lovely cocktail bar with warm ambience. The bar itself is from the 1890s and seating made from reclaimed wood. The bartenders really know their drinks and there is something unique for everyone (except children). The craft spirits are distilled onsite in a beautiful copper still. Try a sampler flight of gin and/or whiskey. It highlights the wide range of flavors - all delicious!

Amazing venue for your small private functions! I have attended one event and organized another event with Liberty Distillery and they are amazing every time! Communicative, friendly, helpful!

I also love going to their location on the weekends for the occasional craft cocktail or whiskey flight. Highly recommend!

This place was unreal. My wife had a gin martini and I have a mocktail with fresh basil. They also have beer and a great wine selection. I will be back!

Unfortunately, distillery tours were suspended during COVID period and aren’t restored as of April 2023.

The Vesper cocktail was perfection in a Martini glass. Their Truth Oat Vodka was delicious and very smooth. Not many warm vodkas can say that. Lol
They do tours as well, but we didn't partake in that. A great spot for the adults here on the island.

Such a great vibe, had the My Pear Lady and the Artisinal cider. Also had great conversation with Adam but the whole staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Great little cocktail bar on Granville Island to stop in for a drink or pick up some craft liquor. It's an even better spot if you're looking for a private venue space. Hosted my birthday party here as they have a very reasonable minimum spend (host or cash bar). The space has enough ambiance that you don't need decorations, you can bring in whatever food you like, and the bartenders craft your drinks with the utmost care and attention-to-detail - not an easy task with 30+ guests ordering up a storm. Everyone had a fab time - highly recommend!

I held a birthday event at The Liberty Distillery in December and it was truly unforgettable! This is such a wonderful venue for a fun yet intimate gathering. All our guests were so impressed with the cocktails, the ambiance, and especially the staff who interacted so nicely and easily with our friends while efficiently making beautiful and delicious drinks. Lisa who helped us plan was organized, prompt in her responses and her attention to detail really stood out. I can't recommend Liberty Distillery enough for the best night out on the town in Vancouver. It's a special gem that I'm so glad I discovered and will be back for sure!

If there were 10 stars available that's the rating I would give! We hosted my birthday celebration here this month. To say it was absolutely the BEST would be an understatement! The staff were absolutely amazing, attending to our every need! The manager who helped us book and plan the event was beyond helpful! Cocktails were fantastic! I cannot say enough praise words for this elegant yet cozy establishment in the heart of Vancouver. Thank you for making my birthday celebration absolutely unforgettable!

Small independent distillery on Granville Island. Cosy and cute. Nice ambience. Really friendly and helpful staff. I tried the gin flight and my husband had the whisky flight. Interesting craft spirits. They also have a cocktail menu, which unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try.

Excellent liquors! Did a custom tasting and tried a couple whiskeys and a couple gins, very pleased with all of them!

We had our grad party at the Liberty Distillery. The whole room was reserved for us and it was the perfect size for our party of around 25, but it could even have accommodated a couple more people. The space, staff, cocktails, and the customized menus were all amazing and we had a lot of fun! Amazing service overall, great drinks at good prices, and a much better setting than any regular bar can hope to achieve. Highly recommended for private events if that's what you are looking for, but its also a lot of fun for punctual visits with friends and/or colleagues.

An amazing place to have a small gathering, tasting for all locally made awesome whiskey (10 types) or just hang out with friends and buddies for hours. Also try their gin and vodkas:)

We had a great experience here with visiting guests. The flights are reasonably priced. The cocktails are creative, even a couple alcohol-free options for the DD. Very cool ambiance.

Great whisky and gin flight sampling with no real hassle. The whiskys were pretty smooth and tasty, and as for the gins were rather heavier on the alcohol than botanical (usually like the juniper taste). However, definitely worth the visit to try for yourself. Did not end up getting any bottles to go.

We had such an amazing time at Liberty Distillery. I had the regular Liberty flight and it was so good, I can't wait to come back and try more drinks. The service was great too. Definitely worth giving this a try.

Dropped on for a drink, stayed for the hand whipped Irish coffee, whiskey tasting, and charcuterie. Fantastic staff, interesting decor, had a delicious time.

The tasting room here is quite enjoyable. There are dozens of different spirits to try, and the staff are quite helpful at finding something interesting to drink. I tried the oat vodka and the single grain whiskey, both of which were good, but the vodka was the more compelling of the two. It's not your typical watered-down neutral grain spirit. It actually has some flavor. We also tried a Mule, which was fresh and delicious. The stills were running, and liquor was flowing from the parrots, which is always cool to see.

Despite the fact the this is by far the cosiest place, with great spirts and a very good taste in music, I give this place only 3 stars. The servers are polite and nice, but utterly disorganized. I waited 15 minutes after ordering to get my drink after having said that I have very limited time. They might also be understaffed. Hopefully it will get better as this is favorite place on Granville Island.

We hosted a private event (30th birthday) at the Liberty Distillery and had the most amazing time. The space has great lighting, comfortable seating and high ceilings. Also, the cocktails / drinks are all from the in-house gin, vodka and whiskey - all of which are phenomenal.

5/5 experience. Would definitely book an event at this location again.

There are so few distilleries relative to breweries yet they offer so much more.
Liberty has great Gin's with a nice list of mixed drinks or a perfect choice with make your own.
Pricing is usual for the times with no real food on offer, but it's a distillery, so you get exactly what you came for.
The location on Granville Island is roughly middle of the island at the end of an artist's alley. The interior design fits well with the area and seeing the stills in the beautiful copper adds to the experience.
If you enjoy Gin I would recommend as a place you have to visit in Vancouver.

Definitely try the New York Sour. Hands down the best cocktail I have ever had.
Exceptional friendly customer service.

Tried to support this place a few times as we live in the area. I was warned about the terribly rude bar staff but tried to look past it. A few days ago was the final straw, after again trying to go for a drink. Only people in there, the male bartender was incredibly rude. There have been a few run in's with staff. Its terrible because I heard the owners are great and the tours but the staff is the reason me and all my friends have refused to return.

Amazing as always. Just popped in for a few essentials (read: bottles of Truth) and it felt like coming home, as always.

The atmosphere draws you in, the staff are helpful and friendly, and there's a cocktail for everyone. It's a welcome rest from the (normally) busy market. Enormous thank you to Lisa for helping this island resident retrieve a left item at the distillery. 10/10 will be back.

I recommend the gin tasting flight, it is guaranteed to clear up the rest of your schedule for the day. Good atmosphere, nice service, hard liquor. What more can one want in this lifetime?

Visiting Vancouver and found a great place to relax! Good for all ages. I found no problem going in there with any of my friends. The guys were friendly and knowledgable. The bartender Darcy recommended the Honey crushed Lemonade cocktail- new favorite. 10/10 would go again

The cocktail we had was amazing! The bartenders on the other hand were not so nice. They seemed bothered and were unhelpful. Maybe just an off night, but it didn’t make us feel welcome or want to stay for another (which we probably would have as the drinks here are so good!)

Stopped in because I was on foot. Nice place to go and stop for an Afternoon "adult" beverage. Excellent product and wonderful ambiance. Friendly staff and dangerously tasty cocktails and drinks.

Delicious craft cocktails for anyone. This place elegantly avoids the common pitfalls of overthinking a good drink or adding too many obscure ingredients.

It was a great distillery to check out. The guide was amazing and very funny. The cocktails were awesome as was the cheap thing of pretzels.

The most interesting thing was the entertainment across the street. We started to smell smoke and wondered where it was coming from. We turn around and the building next to us is on fire with fireman coming all around. Glad no one was hurt!

Delicious.the Greenheart was refreshing and simple. Stop in for drinks or to have a look at a working distillery.

Great distillery in Granville island! We came here to sample a flight after we sampled a bottle at a family members house. After trying other liquors, we liked it so much that we decided to come back on the weekend for a distillery tour. It only costed $10 and came with a flight as well! We came early and had a cocktail during happy hour before the tour. I defiantly recommend coming early to have a drink first. Really great quality and flavour!

Fantastic place to taste some locally distilled spirits! Fun stop while on Granville and not too pricey considering the quality you get.

Very cute distillery with a great sitting room. Friendly staff, excellent cocktail menu with prices ranging from about $9-12. I ordered a Greenheart (pictured) and it’s delicious if you’re into sweet cocktails, which I am.

If you’re nearby, it’s worth going at least once.
They make good spirits, just none to my taste. I’d pick Odd Society over this place for spirits any day. For mixed drinks, I’d pick Long Table over this one as well.
Why go here? Location - it’s on Granville Island along with a million other things. The experience - you can’t say you’ve been to all of Vancouver’s distilleries if you don’t give it a try!
