I had an early dinner here during a long drive with my husband. The service was prompt and friendly, our food came quickly, and it was so, so delicious. I had a veggie burger with a house made bean patty and it is the best I have ever had. Not only was it delicious, it wasn't crumbly - which is hard to achieve. My husband had a beef burger and also thoroughly enjoyed it.
They also have live music.

We so enjoyed the butternut squash sandwich and wild mushroom in coconut creme soup special. They were great with special diets and everything was so very scrumptious.especially the awesome chocolate brownie

The reviews we read prior to our visit made me a little nervous but I was happily proved wrong. Good food, service, atmosphere… great restaurant! We were a big group and didn’t mind waiting a bit for the food but it was fresh pasta and pizza and focaccia bread. Yummy! Ignore the bad reviews this place is great!

Great atmosphere. Service was good, friendly and attentive.
Had pizza. Worst I've ever had. Flavorless. Tasted like cardboard with toppings. So disappointing. We paid and left. Wasted money. Love coming to Fernie but will never come back here.

Had the veggie egg Benedict it was good but a bit plain and boring.

Decent place to be fair. But need to retrain some of their staff. We stopped in for happy hour, which had a couple OK specials. The server points out in annoyance that simply taking one of 5 empty tables on the patio wasn’t OK and that we should’ve found her inside. OK you obviously aren’t busy, so whatever. Anyway, she walked through the menu and happy hours specials, and said $6 glasses of wine and $6 draught beer. My friend gets a wine and I get a hazy IPA. After 8-9 min she drops our order and bails out before we can get a word in edgewise. My beer was obviously wrong, it was a pilsner, but she was gone like a thief in the night. 7-8 more min goes by and finally we flag her down serving the other table and explain politely, she’d brought the wrong beer. "No, thats the hazy IPA", she explains. Well admittedly, I'm no brew master but I’m fairly certain I can tell the difference between a crystal-clear pilsner and hoppy fully opaque IPA. Especially since they only have 3 beers on tap, one clear, one pink and one hazy. I insist its not the right beer because I’ve had it the day before at another place. She takes it back in a huff with no apology or acknowledgement of error, bringing the proper beer 5 min later. Just dumps it off, says nothing and bails again, despite my replacement hazy, actually being hazy. Its now been 20+ min and I finally have my order. We didn’t order food, we wanted the pasta and they were only offering a limited menu because, “we’re one of the only places open today, and we’re so busy we’re only doing a limited menu. ” Ohhhkaay, I guess that’s a reason. After our drinks, we get the bill and the $6 wine is $9. My friend points it out and she says, “no that’s the price, wines not on happy hour. ” My friend points out that she did tell us it was and also the table next to us, so maybe she should stop telling people it is on special. No apology, not bill correction, just blatant annoyance with us. Needless to say she wasn’t impressed with my 0% tip. Gives me the first fake valley girl, “thank you so much! ”, followed by an even more fake and annoyed, “Thank… YOU SOOO MUCH! ” when she realized I didn’t tip. I’m sorry but these days of guilt tipping 18% by tourists has made horrible servers so much worse. We won’t be going back here any time because of her, these establishments should know a garbage server when they see one and retrain them or cut them lose. If they’re as busy as they say, they must bring down hundreds per night in tips when there is no way a table of two is walking away with less than $100 bill at this place. $20 appies, $25 two topping pizza, $9 pints, $15 deserts, you do the math with lowest default tip on the machine 18%.

Terrible experience with poor quality food!
Worst was the kids burger. It was a single slice of toasted bread cut in half with a dry patty inside. The beef patty tasted and looked like old leftovers, dried out and flavorless. I was truly shocked by how terrible it was.
The BLT was extremely bland!
Coffee never got refilled until we asked 40min after the first cup. It was not busy as we were the only ones with a table of 8. The other dishes at our table were mediocre at best. Don't go here for the food or service.

My fiancé and I eat brunch here regularly, the staff is always very friendly and attentive. The brunch is amazing we love the pork bowl and the pizza is to die for. Would 100% recommend coming here for brunch.

This place offers one of the best food in Fernie - Katie the manager takes pride in her team and her restaurant and doing an amazing job - Me and my wife had a wonderful experience - will definitely recommend with hugest confidence and will come back when visiting Fernie

Nice family friendly environment. Good food all around. Had the margarita pizza and thoroughly enjoyed.

Always too busy for this, too busy for that and can't do this or can't do that. Then you have the wait staff. I can't, I won't, I don't know.

I suggest the following:

1. Hire more staff as it isn't like you aren't busy and struggling. Only struggle I see is to keep up with service quality.

2. Hire staff who want to be there instead of someone with a chip on their shoulder and not stuck up. I'm the customer here and although I know the customer isn't always right, certainly customers don't deserve the attitude when they're being friendly and courteous.

There are many other establishments here that would be happy to take your money. I suggest people look elsewhere.

Very slow service. On our visit we waited an hour & ten minutes for our food. When the food finally did arrive we were informed one entree was burned by the chef & that we would have to wait a bit longer. They did give us some free fries for the inconvenience however the fried were soggy so it was not much of a bonus. The food itself was OK at best definitely not good enough to be memorable. I won't be back any time soon.

I can say with confidence that the food here is some of the best I've ever had. Absolutely incredible. Do yourself a favour and eat here. You won't regret it.

They make a pretty good burger, haven’t been blown away by their other food though. Service has always been great.

Such a great place! The food, drinks and dessert were too notch. And the service was impeccable. A+

Quite possibly the worst meal I’ve had in a while.
The pasta was ok but the portion sizes were small and the chicken dish had so little chicken in that it feels like a stretch to label it as a chicken pasta dish.
The garlic toast was cold.
The kids meal was crazily small, it would have fed a 5 year old but not a 10 year old with a small appetite. I’m ok with this but wish we had been warned that the potions were small.
To try to fill up we had a brownie each but it was horrible. Crumbly and stodgy and not at all moist. The coulis and caramel sauce was a pathetic swipe on the plate and did nothing to improve the moisture of the dish. The Chantilly cream appeared to be aerosol whipped cream and even that was such a poor size that it couldn’t save the over dry brownie. It’s telling that the hungry kids didn’t finish the brownie.
I told the waitress I was disappointed with the meal and was clear i wasn’t after a freebie. I expected someone to come to apologize. Or at least acknowledge that we had had a bad meal. But nothing.

Stopped in for a pizza and a beer. Beer was cold and pizza was a very tasty. Service with the smile.

Thé Loaf is my Friday lunchtime sanity. I love the food, the service and the atmosphere…honestly couldn’t get through my week without it!

Food was goodish, but small portions and terrible service. We waited over an hour after ordering and when the food arrived it was cold. Disappointing but had potential.

Had a pleasant dining experience here solo. Since I was alone I sat at the bar. I ordered the Fettuccine Bolognese. Pasta was maybe a touch under cooked, a bit more al dente then I prefer. But overall quote tasty. The bread was delicious. I could order this item again.
