We had the Signature Lobster Roll and the Dungenes Crab Roll. Both were awesome, the buns and the seafood. What prevented me from giving 5 stars are the potato chips, something was missing, they were a bit too simple for the price.

The seafood here is so cheap! I brought back a bunch of clams and oysters for my family. I just called them the same day and they had everything ready for the airplane. My flight was delayed by many hours. But the seafood was still fresh and alive when I arrived back home. Everything was packed securely and appropriately. I had no issues bringing it. The seafood prices were really competitive.

They sell fresh alive lobster from Nova Scotia and they can cook/boil lobster or crab for you. They serve it with butter, cocktail sauce and lemon. One of the freshest and sweetest lobster I have.

I do have a shellfish allergy so I bet you are wondering why am I even reviewing this place? Well, if you walk past the sit-down restaurant, you come across fresh seafood; oysters, crabs, lobsters and mussels. Heck they'll even cook the lobster and crab for you! As you know, I love oysters and they are reasonably priced almost, a hidden gem. If you live in the area want, fresh seafood or hosting a party this is the spot for you!

Average lobster roll, not the most flavorful lobster roll I ever tried in Van. The bun is too thick. Service at shellfish market needs to be improved, approached several staffs there asking for help but they ended up ignoring us

Lobster tasted ok. The bun was over cooked. Too hard to bite into without destroying the sandwich.

I saw people recommending the lobster buns in this store. To be honest, the price of their lobster buns doesn’t match their price. It’s a very simple recipe but I waited for 20 minutes. Understand why it takes so long (there is only one person in front of the line, no long queue), the bag waiting to get is no surprise and even worse than expected

Visited recently while at Granville Market. Their lobster roll was freshly made when ordered and had good chunks of lobster in it. The chips had a decent crunch to them.

Overall, was a decent spot for lobster rolls and one of the few places serving it in the Market area.

Each bite is a delectable blend of richness and freshness, making this sandwich a gourmet delight!

Enjoyed a dairy free lobster brioche roll. Mayo, lettuce, celery and good chunks of lobster! Outdoor seating next to the shellfish shop makes the experience even better. Crab and shrimp rolls also available.

Can’t speak much for their actual menu, but I’ve ordered live lobsters from this place a couple times now and they have always been great.

Their online ordering system works very smoothly, the lobsters are fresh and are always packed so securely that we were able to come via motorcycle to pickup our order (which we carried home in a backpack with no mess!) and the lobsters were still alive by the time we arrived home to steam them. ️

If you visit Granville Island you have to try this lobster roll - it is famous for a reason! Great service and delightful food.

Fresh seafood, a lot different osyter to choose. Friendly staff with good knowledge of their products.
And sandwich is killer.

Tasty fresh lobster roll and chips on a toasted brioche bun. An overcast day and later in the. Afternoon so no wait. We got the signature.

Visited Granville and had to try the lobster roll. Got the Connecticut lobster roll. Which was $25, which was a bit pricey. But the brioche bun, and butter lobster was worth it. It came with ruffle potato fries. Not much for seating so get it to go and find one of the many near locations to sit and enjoy. Also make sure to grab plenty of napkins, you will need them.

We got a Connecticut Lobster sandwich. It could use more lobsters for the price. And the chips were basically from Costco.

I won't buy again. Be careful when buying seafood. They calculate the weight more and charge you more. A lobster actually counts as more than 1 pound, I didn't find it until I got home. It's disgusting to do business like this.

Tried their live oyster, bought a dozen back for $18 and shuck it myself, super fresh and cheap. Not to be missed if you are there

Wanted to like it, but was way overpriced. Lobster roll was $17 in 2021 and now $24 in 2022. A really small cup of clam chowder with a few bites was also $8. Lobster was just okay and small. Chips were also oily and felt like just regular potato chips from the grocery store.

30 min wait time for a 25 dollar take out sandwhich (min tip ask is 15%). Not horrible but would benefit from sauce for chips. Sandwich pretty small as well. A bit under impressed. Overpriced big time.

Delicious, fresh lobster with a limited menu and only a few seats outside. This is a worthwhile place to eat while at Granville Island but isn't particularly special.

We tried the signature and connecticut lobster roll. I like the connecticut more because of its warm butters. Worth a try if you never have one before.

Granville Village has a great reputation for fresh seafood, so. I had high expectations and the Lobster Roll I got from The Lobster Man restaurant was very disappointing. The picture looked amazing. In actuality, my order looked nothing like the picture. The lobster meat on my order was extremely skimpy. The sweet bun and was ok. But, in the rest of my meal was a small serving of Lays Ripple's potato chip - not kidding. With a tip, I paid over $28 Canadian for this sad looking meal. With all honesty, the taste was just mediocre and the portion was much less than expected for the price. Sorry for this bad review but I have to be honest. I would never go back again. The picture is totally misleading - be careful with these guys.

The bread was hard as a rock from re-toasting on one side and mushy on the other - gross. I ended up scooping out the lobster with a fork. The lobster was fresh and tasty, but you don't get much.

If you ever had lobster rolls in Maine or Nova Scotia, you would not consider it was a lobster roll.

The lobster rolls were okay. The Connecticut one was the best. It warms the soul as you're eating it. Prices were a little high, but the wait for the food wasn't bad.

Stopped by about an hour before closing and lobster rolls were sold out so try to get there well before closing! The bun was perfectly buttered and the lobster was so fresh

I ordered 3 rolls and they only gave me 2. I only noticed this when I got back to my hotel and I asked for a refund and compensation for the inconvenience. They only refunded me for the 1 roll they missed. And the rolls didn’t even taste that good!

If you don't mind eating between sparrows, seagulls and crows poo poos on the ramp, then be my guest- I saw a man cleaning the poo with his coffee and a napkin -
$21.00 for a tasteless lobster roll - as rubbery as a tire - very disappointed since I have been trying to get there for months and finally made it -

For $19.95 (taxes in), the Signature Lobster Roll I had with which was made of premixed overcooked lobster and PIECES OF SHELL, with some obviously bulk pack potato crisps - not something I’ll bother with again. I showed the pieces of shell to the server at the counter, they just said something like “Ohh that’s too bad”, and dismissed me. Everything about this screams TOURIST TRAP.

Based on reviews dated last week, prices on the lobster rolls rose $2 in the space of a week. So who knows how much they’ll raise prices by tomorrow?

Bun was nice. The lobster, as mentioned, was over cooked, tough and had pieces of shell in it - and I chipped a tooth.

Tried the signature lobster roll. The lobster was good, although needed more lemons on the side.the bun was meh (too sweet). All in all it was good!

Paid $30 for a full lobster that was deshelled and packaged, ready to eat. I think this is a treat, and it was scrumptious. We got some (unsalted) melted butter on the side and ate near the water.

It is overrated. I didn’t try the cooking service, but I can see the lobster is coming from Nova Scotia. I tried three different rolls, the taste is just okay. They don’t even give you much chips. I also tried the sea urchin, it was horrible.

vouch for the lobster rolls. Fresh bun and delicious Atlantic lobster. You place your order and are given a number depending on the time of day, of week and of season the length of time to wait can vary. Does get busy and crowded during peak times. The roll is not that big and is served with potato chips. Prepare to spend over $20 for the roll and a drink. Miso mayonnaise with the Maine (signature roll) butter with the Connecticut style. Worth stopping by the next time you are down on Granville Island and are craving some seafood.

I ordered the signature lobster menu, and it's very yummy! The price is $19 and I got a lobster sandwich with chips, the bread is soft and a bit sweet, it's compliment each other with the combination.
The lobster is big and some a bit chewy.
I ordered 1 to go, finish it while walking around, and come back to order another one to pack home. Lol
I give 4 star because in the second order, the lady didn't give me a slice of a lemon, so the taste is not as perfect as the first one.

Ordered from Uber eats. The Connecticut lobster roll was really awful. Overly salty, fishy, no fresh, overcooked lobster. And I got a bad stomach ache afterwards

We come to Granville Island often when we need to buy some live seafood. We love Lobster Man for crab, clams, and scallops. The price is not cheap compared to Asian Supermarkets, but the quality is consistently better. They have a small restaurant to the side where you can buy Lobster Rolls and other frozen seafood. Today, we tried the lobster roll, but we were quite disappointed by the flavourless lobster that we think might have been frozen. I think we will skip the lobster rolls and just come here for the live seafood.

The signature lobster roll is $17 which is quite cheap for a lobster roll. Although the price was favorable, I found that the lobster filling didn't have much flavor. I tasted mayonnaise and some hint of seafood essence but not much else. Though, the lemon does make it tastier. I think this roll could also benefit from having a toasted bun instead of just a regular brioche cut in half. Overall, not bad but there are definitely tastier options at the granville island market.

I took a group of friends here for lunch as I hadn’t seen them for quite some time. There were 10 of us and we all agreed that these were the best lobster rolls we had ever experienced. We also had the shrimp cocktail, that was incredible. Fresh beyond belief! The service was so friendly and they couldn’t do enough for you. I will definitely be back and so will the other 9. This place gets 10 out of 10 in all categories.

Good price and fresh oyster and lobster!

They don't open for oyster but you can buy oyster knife and easy to open it up.

They do cook for lobster and cutting.

Tried the signature lobster rollI, Connecticut lobster roll and Dungeness crab roll. They all lacked flavour and saltiness…which shouldn’t be the case as I have had fresh crab and lobster many times and it tastes salty like the sea. I suspect the meat is frozen and/or mixed with other fillers. The meat was also quite watery.

My go to place for lunch when visiting Granville Island. I love my seafood and this hits the spot when I want a lobster roll. Great place to visit with friendly staff. The price is reasonable and one order is quite filling. Highly recommended!
