The Midwifery Group

I had the best experience at The Midwifery Group. Everyone, from the admin team to the midwives, were all so lovely. I was under the care of Team 3 for the duration of my pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. They always took the time to answer my questions and were quick to connect me with other resources if needed. I never felt rushed out the door and I always knew how to get in contact with them if needed.

I really liked that I got a chance to meet all the midwives on my team. Having the midwives rotate for my prenatal appointments meant that I had built a strong rapport with each of them by the end of my pregnancy. This all but guaranteed that I would have a trusted and familiar face attend me at my birth.

I also loved that the first 2 prenatal visits were done in my home. Not having to pack up a newborn and a toddler and rush across town to make it to an appointment on time was truly a godsend.

In the end, I couldn't have been happier with my pregnancy and birth experience. I felt safe, empowered, and cared for. If another pregnancy is in my future, I will absolutely be returning to The Midwifery Group.

It was a great experience meeting there lovely midwifes. They were very supportive during the whole pregnancy, in the pregnancy and after! I strongly suggest them if you are looking to a place and team where they make you feel welcomed and guided.

We were excited for the opportunity to work with Team 1 from The Midwifery Group for the birth of our first child. The whole team was excellent through the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. We always felt supported and comfortable with all the Midwives on the team as well as the admin team and the couple of people we met from Team 3 as well!

I am so glad I had a midwife through my pregnancy and birth journey with the midwifery group. Every midwife we met through appointment in the pregnancy journey was so helpful and informative and gave me guidance and knowledge throughout the trimester. At the birth period, I was assisted by Andrea and Firnaz, they were so helpful and I am so glad they were with me in that moment as they gave me guidance and made me feel comfortable and confident through giving birth.
I recommend this group of midwifes to anyone thinking of it and is pregnant, they will make your journey through it a much better one as you will have their support and guidance throughout the way.

I had my two daughters with the support of the midwifes at the midwifery group, they are awesome, kind and supportive. I am lucky to have been under their care and I will forever be grateful. Team 1 was great, very responsive and always made me feel heard.

The care I received from the midwives was really great. Their suggestions and support has made my while pregnancy and delivery journey a lot easier. And also the postpartum care they are providing has helped me a lot to cope up with everything. I would like to thank all of the midwives from group 3 for taking care of me in my whole pregnancy and labor & delivery.

Had an amazing experience with Team 3 (Tracy, Emily, Jill and Rachel) at the Midwifery Group. I came on board late at 29 weeks and was nervous that I wouldn’t have time to connect and receive the same level of care had I known them from the start.

However from start to end I was so appreciative of all the care received. I felt that my questions were heard and concerns addressed. Could connect with the midwifery team between appointments as needed. When it came to the delivery, they worked well with my doula and the staff at BC Womens. I couldn’t have asked for anything more! Also the admin team (Nat and Erin) ensured great and communication about appointments and follow up, which makes a big difference

Words can't express how wonderful everyone at the Midwifery Group are. I was taken care of by Team 3 (Rachel, Tracy, Jill and Emily) and I felt so emotionally supported throughout my pregnancy and labour. I had a couple unexpected things arise and I really appreciated how they patiently answered all my questions which allowed me to make informed decisions on my baby's care. I cannot recommend them enough!

The level of service and care was outstanding. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. When our little one arrived, the support and home visits was excellent. Put us at ease each time we talked to them.

I had a wonderful experience with the Midwifery Group - Team 3, and the reception. The team was friendly, caring, attentive and knowledgeable. It was always a joy to go to our appointments. When extra care/help was needed, the midwives and reception personnel always went above and beyond to quickly help us. I was always impressed that, while I was seeing different midwives from an appointment to another, the person I was seeing was always up-to-date regarding my situation. A special thanks to Emily who was there for the delivery and who was wonderful!

Team 3 was amazing! I went with TMG for both of my pregnancies and would highly recommend them! They do amazing work.

I had the most extraordinary experience with The Midwifery Group's team 3 Emily, Rachel, Jill and Tracy and they're wonderful administrators Natasha and Erin. I received the most generous care and advocacy I have ever experienced in healthcare both while living here and in Ontario. I chose the Midwifery Group because my sister had two amazing pregnancies and labours with them.

I think the most important part of my experience was having access to my midwives whenever I needed them, a prompt response from the office for all appointments and changes and always having them follow through on every single thing they said they would do for me.
I felt safe, respected, heard and well-informed throught my pregnancy and for my 6 weeks of post-partum care. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with my midwives and how much support I felt on my journey to becoming a first time mom. Thank you all so much

I am beyond grateful to have been followed by Team 3 for both of my pregnancies. Each team member was very attentive, patient and well informed. Everyone went out of their way to make sure that I felt supported and that all of my questions were answered. I can't recommend Team 3 enough.
The admin team also deserves a shoutout. They are always ready to greet you with a smile and are lightning fast in responding to emails, calls, and questions.

I am beyond grateful for such an amazing experience with being pregnant and becoming a first time mom through the support of the Midwifery Group. They were very caring, supportive, resourceful, and quick to respond when needed! I would definitely come back when there's another little one.

The thoughts of birthing a baby from womb to world was nerve racking but I'm so glad I had my midwife there during the whole process while in the hospital. I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with The Midwifery Group. I received care from Team 1 and felt that they were professional, caring, warm, thorough, and educated on the most up to date information. They supported me through my first pregnancy and a difficult birth. I never felt judged or rushed at appointments. And most importantly, I liked and trusted each midwife on the team so felt confident going into labor regardless of who was on call.

We had the most amazing experience with The Midwifery Group. We got so much care and support throughout our visits and everyone on team 1 was absolutely wonderful. A huge thank you to Sarah for the amazing delivery of our baby! We could not be happier with our choice to use them throughout our pregnancy and delivery! Highly recommend!

Their holistic and responsive care put me at ease and made me feel prepared during my pregnancy and birth of our baby. Feeling very lucky to have had Team 3 at The Midwifery Group at our care provider. Each member was so lovely and they were all so well informed with a great system to ensure quality care. All visits were trauma informed and based around the care of both mother and baby. I had been with an OB for my first child and while she was an excellent physician, there was minimal patient care.
The Midwifery Group have the perfect balance of compassion, care, professionalism and confidentiality. I would highly recommend.

During pregnancy I received all the information I needed to make informed decisions and I felt comfortable asking questions. The birth was a little more complicated than expected and they were there every step of the way to make me feel in control and calm.

The Midwifery Group is amazing! Team 1 helped me through the pregnancy and births of both my babies. My first via emergency C-section and my second via planned C-section. All the midwives were incredibly knowledgeable and always gave the time to answer my questions. They were supportive of my choices through pregnancy and delivery of both my babies. I had the experience of dual care with an OB during my second pregnancy, the communication and respect shown to one another by both my OB and the midwives was really lovely. I felt so confident in my care because everyone was united in supporting me through the pregnancy and birth.
Natasha and Erin at the front desk are awesome too! Always ready with a warm smile and a helpful hand.

I am so happy we went with midwife care! Team 3 was so supportive throughout my pregnancy and and after birth. I ended up needing an emergency c-section that I was alone for and having Rachel tell me she was there definitely had a calming effect on me. It was so nice having someone we knew check in on us in hospital/in the NICU instead of just having the rotation of nurses and doctors (who were great.) The home visits after were the best thing about midwifery care! It was so nice while recovering from surgery to have them come to us. They were able to check on me and baby and help us get breastfeeding established all while in the comfort of home. I’d highly recommend midwives in general but especially the amazing Team 3 at The Midwifery Group.

With this being our first baby, it was also my first personal experience with midwives. The care that we received from Team 3 at the Midwifery Group was fantastic from start to finish. All team members were compassionate, caring people, who made it clear that they had time to chat about any concerns we had during our visits. When I had specific questions and called in outside of appointment times, they were very prompt to respond and were able to help troubleshoot our concerns over the phone and provide timely advice. All recommended tests and procedures were well explained, and they were always quick to answer questions and support our decisions. Thank you for all of your care!

So impressed at the level of support and care I received for my second child's labour and delivery. The midwives spent hours answering my questions, figuring out how to support me, and then visiting my home after the birth. I'm very glad I went this route!

Though almost 3 years late for a review, just wanted to say I loved my team 1 ladies! Can't say enough good things about The Midwifrey Group. They were caring and flexible. I felt well taken care of being able to meet all members of the team throughout my pregnancy. My home birth experience was incredible and I'd do it again. ️ Glad to see they have expanded their space. I highly recommend their services if you are considering using a midwife.

We are so glad we found the Midwifery group. We had a less than desirable experience with another clinic which led us to pursue another team of midwives for our second and third pregnancies. The midwives at the Midwifery Group were supportive, reassuring and proactive with ensuring our safety and security. They addressed any concerns that we had and made time to help us through our birth plan. In addition to this, they honoured our birth plan and kept us on track. During the labour, our midwives were attentive and had a wonderful bedside manner. We even had the pleasure of being visited by two of our team members, before baby arrived, to ensure that all was going well. I was most impressed with the post-natal care. The home visits were something I looked forward to and the assistance with latching was essential. I would highly recommend the Midwifery Group!

I'm posting 10 months later. I delivered my baby early in the COVID pandemic and I transferred to Main Street at 36 weeks after a negative experience with a locum (who made a number of mistakes that had me lose trust) at another midwife office. My experience at Main Street couldn't have been more different. They made a great effort for me to meet all the midwives in my team in a short time frame. Each was kind and respectful, but more important for me was that they were extremely thorough and informative. I could trust being in their care. Although the office was experiencing staffing challenges due to a midwife's illness, I had two wonderful midwives (one from my team, and one from another team who was filling in) at my home birth. They were encouraging and calm. The best was the postpartum care. I had the most amazing and supportive midwives come to my house and really listen. I am so grateful for the care I received.

Excellent service and care for both my Children's births. My midwife team was respectful, caring, knowledgeable, and centered on my health and well-being. It never felt clinical or rushed at appointments. I wouldn't change a thing about how both pregnancies and births went.

Posting this 3 years later. The Midwifery Group was fantastic during my first pregnancy all the way through to after care. I was a new BC resident and having them as my support through everything was beautiful. I felt cared for and didn't worry about the labor because I knew I was in good hands. They have an after hours support line also if you have any emergency type questions. After the birth of your baby they come and check in on you in your home for the first couple of weeks. I'm so happy I found this group and if I have another child I will most definitely want to work with them again. Thank you!

This is very late, but I still want to leave this group a review. The Midwifery Group cared for me SO WELL during my first pregnancy.

Communication was timely, thorough and helpful. Appointments were always unrushed. They didn't hesitate to refer me to an OB when I developed complications, so are very clear about practising within the midwife scope. They answered my husband and my questions well. The OB they referred me to has also been phenomenal. We reached and consulted with a midwife even when we called, due to my bleeding, from Sardinia and Corsica, where we were traveling.

On the night I lost my daughter to stillbirth at BC Women's, the midwife we reached and who was with us wasn't one on the team assigned to me, but she was still very kind, and it was she who realized I was delivering right there in the triage room.

They visited me 3-4 times postpartum and kept a keen eye on my grieving, and I received all my paperwork as they promised. In the midst of one of the hardest experiences of my life, I was blessed to have received such loving and professional care from this group. I'm thankful to them and will always be. Losing our firstborn could have been so much worse with care providers who were callous or uncaring, which was the furthest thing from what this team is.

I have had the best experience I could ever have with my pregnancy and delivery and all this was perfect - exactly as I was imagining.and this is during the pandemic time. Everyone was so nice polite and friendly. I have never felt at the doctor's appointment - it was just so casual as I would go to my friend's home and be welcomed. We are so thankful for the support and the delivery day was so crazy and fast. Everyone followed my birth plan. All-natural. Thank you Team 1.

I was with The Midwifery Group for both of my babies and cannot not say enough amazing things about my time there. I felt very well-informed, taken care of, supported and loved in all aspects. I felt in charge of my own experience from the confidence they gave me from the very first appointment to the very last. Midwifery care is a gift and these humans are the best there is!

I had used a doctor for my first baby and had no idea what to expect when I called The Midwifery Group to make an appointment after learning I was pregnant with baby #2. Talk about a completely different experience! I was assigned to Team 3 and met with Laura, Rachel, Jill, Kathryn and student Kayla at each new appointment. They were all truly genuine, informative, straightforward, calm, patient and beyond supportive. Kathryn and Kayla were with me while I was in labour and took amazing care of me and kept me sane that entire day! Laura delivered my baby shortly after shift switch. Rachel and Laura came to see me at home in the weeks after my baby was born. The global pandemic had just been declared, (I was an anxious mess) and they listened and talked through everything with me so calmly and realistically and it helped me more than they know. I will never forget what these amazing women did for me and my baby.:)
