We had the staff sitting with us many years ago we lived on 6 th across from the B House…. Special coffees we skipped home holding hands….

If you're feeling nostalgic for German food, just go somewhere else.

TLDR; new ownership doesn't seem to get German culture/cuisine.

The Oma has left this building and isn't coming back. It's very sad to see this place as such a shell of its obviously legendary past. The food was pretty over cooked and bland. It lacked the nuance that a cook familiar with food of that region would have. The portions were OK but not significant. Just absolutely no passion in anything. If you're feeling nostalgic for German food. Our server was really great, kind, and attentive. Unfortunately, it didn't make up for a business with no direction, soul or passion.

The food and beer are good but the service is terrible. A waiter fighting with customers and there is no manager or someone else to talk about it. I would have wanted to try more of the menu but we won´t be back.
One of us ordered a fettuccini with cheese sauce but received spaghetti with vegetables not described on the menu. When she asked to the waiter if that was the correct plate, the waiter was rude, saying that if she doesn´t eat mushrooms, she should say that before ordering and she went into the kitchen very angry and began to shout there.
I was surprised by the answer from a young woman waiter in a fancy restaurant.

Had an excellent appetizers (potato fried pancakes) and a very yummy SCHNITZEL CHAMPIGNON with SCHNITZEL MADAGASCAR. Our server (Jaspreet) was very polite and professional. Our first time visit at this restaurant was over 25 years ago and now at the new ownership but the food is consistently good quality, so we definitely will be back soon. Thank you!

Staff was professional and dish was great especially the spaetzle is the best. But the sausage was so so.

I LOVE a good Bavarian restaurant. The atmosphere is quiet and comforting with all the right decorations and music.

Food was disgusting and tasteless without any sauce/gravy. Whoever is working in the kitchen doesn’t know how to make/prepare authentic German food. Additionally, this place is very expensive for what you get and portions are extremely small. I was wondering why nobody was sitting inside of the restaurant. I now know why.
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place and I don’t think I will ever go back.

I feel like this restaurant has gone downhill. The vibe is still very Bavarian but the price does not reflect the quality or quantity of food.

Taste was ok, portion size too little, prices too high for what you get. They have Schnitzel in all kind of variations, but the Schnitzel itself contains hardly any meat, mostly the coating and together with few pieces of side dishes not enough when you are hungry. Unfortunately, not a very satisfying experience.

Ordered a couple of schnitzels which were great. Nice and crisp with a fantastic mushroom sauce.

Had the apple strudel as well which was very tasty if a bit on the high side ($11) for the portion.

Will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

I used to live near the restaurant and went often when the original European owners had the place, and it was one of my favorites. There is new ownership now, and it shows. I was there for an event, and there was a buffet hodge podge of western, indian, Chinese, and Europeanish food.it all sucked. The snitzel was paper thin and tasted like a bread cardboard. The butter chicken tasted like there was pre-cooked chicken thrown into a storebought sauce. The burgers were tough and tasteless. The fries were obviously from frozen. The bratwurst was not bad.but you can't really mess up bratwurst. What was still good.the black forest cake.it must still come from the same place. Overall, it was a major disappointment.

We were there for a company Christmas party. Food was really good and good portions. Our Server Hardeep was wonderful and very sweet.

I’m not as polarized about the food as some of the recent reviews are. The food is far from deserving negative reviews but not memorable enough to earn rave reviews from me. It was a good meal, like a good home cooked meal, but not making me rave to other people that it was a great meal. The strudel dessert was the only disappointment. It looked like it was half of the original strudel; quite pricey for $11. All restaurants are pricier since 2019. It’s a tough go out there.

The service was good from one staff member whereas the other could not crack a smile. They were quick to take the food order, clear plates and bring out the dessert menu. It’s a fine line between attentive service and making guests feel rushed. Patrons should bear this in mind. Some may like it while others may feel like the restaurant wants to turn the table and move in the next guests.

I don’t think patrons will be disappointed dining here but some may not get enough of a memorable meal for the price to return or recommend.

Nice atmosphere. Still has that classic German feel. Portions were smaller than expected, especially for the price. The server was a bit inattentive. Never got a refill of water or offered another beer.

Absolutely enjoyed tonight’s dining experience. The food was beautifully prepared and plentiful. The service was spot on. Hardeep is a gem and a delightful hostess. This restaurant is iconic in New Westminster and it was so nice to revisit memories of past years combined with making new ones. Thank you for a memorable evening

They opened up to do a buffet style lunch for us, so we were able to sample a few items. Good food, great atmosphere, wonderful people)

Excellent, yummy food. We ordered schnitzels and they were perfectly crispy.the fresh veggies and roasted potatoes that accompanied were perfect matches. I've never been to Germany before, but the decor made me feel like I was transported for the hour or so it took to enjoy our meals. Our server was so friendly too, highly recommend!:)

We have a wonderful dinner with the best service. Komal, thank you so much for being so kind and accomodating with my family:) they were delighted even thought they don't speak English. Amazing house wine!

Nice atmosphere and music

Food is good, price as expected. Really nice staff.

I would skip this place for breakfast. Food had no taste. Waffle was flat. Don't know how to cook eggs. $45 for two people for breakfast not worth the walk. Took a long time to make, ordered coffee before we ordered food also took a long time to arrive.

Very nice restaurant, good hearty food that tastes home-cooked. My wife is European and said the taste reminded her of home. Hardeep the waitress was very sweet and attentive. Would come back for dinner.

Delicious goulash and schnitzel with very generous portions. The staff were very courteous and accommodated our large group easily.

Way overpriced for what you get and the food was only barely acceptable. For the price you pay I would expect to have a memorable meal. That just wasn't the case. Food was quite bland and service was just ok.
I gave two stars, instead of one, because while I didn't completely enjoy the food I did at least manage to finish the plate.
