I went probably midday? Had the sweetest server ever ahh. She was super attentive and friendly. The carnitas tacos were sooooo goood. Would definitely go back!

Everything about this place is a 10/10! The vibe, atmosphere and staff are unmatched. Hands down, the best Mexican food in Vancouver and a great locale to hangout, grab some drinks and food and enjoy the vibes and environment. Especially a cool place to visit around Christmas as it is all lit up, has a special menu and various decorations! Would recommend the margaritas and nachos the most but everything is so good.

So delicious and happy hour is a killer deal. Highly recommend we went one night and again for lunch the next day

Had a huge table but the waitress was able to accommodate everyone’s needs! It was so good, had a blast and the food was also amazing! Lots of gluten free options for celiacs as well. The sauce they use on the nachos is absolutely life changing! Overall would definitely go again

I've been here a few times for taco Tuesday and I've always enjoyed it. Went last night with a group. Nigel, the server was excellent! Will definitely keep coming back.

Came in on Happy Hour tuesday. My server Angel was super attentive and charismatic! Loved having her as my waitress and loved the vibe of the place. Would definitely come again and recommend to friends

Stumbled in here on a walk to get out of the heat and have a beer before bee lining it back to the West End. Best decision EVER. Amazing service, amazing food, great beer selection. Alexia is such a good part of being at the Pawn Shop. The drinks were great, salt rims and traditional margaritas. Spend some time there!

The Dj last night was fire until the manager mj decided to shut him down because he wasn’t playing garbage top 40

Excellent service, ambience and food. The selection of tacos and tequila both excellent. As someone who goes out of her way for good happy hour tacos I was so happy with this. Little pricy outside of happy hour for the premiums but they are very very well made. Will be back.

Great experience! Both food and drinks come out so fast. The music is awesome and the service was exceptional. Our male server Anthony was really inviting. He knew a lot about all the tequila and made great suggestions for food. Will be coming back again! 10/10

Love the atmosphere, staff are great, and when your nachos run out of chips before they run out of toppings it's always a good sign.

Went here yesterday and was disappointed by the service. When we first walked in we were just completely ignored by one of the servers and the hostess wasn’t paying attention. When we were seated, the table was still sticky. We were deciding what to eat and asked for a bit more time when the waiter arrived. It took almost 15 mins to get our servers attention as we were ignored by every other server even when we had our hand up and said “excuse me” (however, we were seated in the very back of the restaurant, but had perfect view of where all the waitresses were crowded around just talking). Our server was apologetic for the wait and took our order. The food was pretty decent but the KFC taco felt a bit dry (no sauce…maybe they forgot?). When we tried to get the bill, I raised my hand and made direct eye contact with a server who was in the middle of a convo with another server. Took awhile for them to ‘notice’ and then get the bill for us (just as a note, we were a group of all Asians too). Overall service was disappointing and is making me reconsider returning.

The Food was so good! I loved the CHURRO DONUTS and the ed likes blue drinks cocktail was tasty, and sweet. Service was friendly and accomodating would come again

Fantastic tacos. They have 3 for 1 (smaller taco) and 2 for 1 (larger each) deals which allow you to enjoy the variety at a decent price. Haven’t had their burritos in 3 years but I still remember they were amazing. Jalapeño mango margarita was divine. Awesome attentive service! Lovely music and big screen to watch any game, from a table or by the bar.
I won’t wait 3 years to come back this time!

Read about this location on a travel blog - it did NOT disappoint. The tacos were amazing (even the 2.00 ones that were the deal of the day) the margaritas and selection of tequila were great and the vibes due to decor and music / DJ were awesome. Such a great find. We plan on visiting again next time were in town! Staff were also friendly and courteous:)

Incredible Don Julio 35 buck shot was incredible way to start, let it settle with a bite of lime and then tossed it in my house beer, had beer battered fries and the ground beef gorditas omg just incredible followed by a second draft and i had a great walk home after feeling full and glowing. Just a great spot dj was awesome it was remix hip hop and. The setting was also so cool inside graffitti mexican themed walls and cool lingo. Flashy loud delectable and fun!

Love the shrimp tacos at this place yet the service could be much better. I got the feeling that the waiter just gets paid via tip otherwise why would he demand one? If someone decided to not leave a tip that should mean that your service wasnt exceptional enough. Asking a customer for a tip is uncalled, for which the stuff in this place is yet to learn.

I’m usually not one to leave a 1 star review. My party and I were dissatisfied with the service. With only about 4 occupied tables in the restaurant during happy hour on a Sunday the service was surprisingly slow. We tried to get our server’s attention for a good 10 minutes on various occasions for water/cups, cutlery, and the bill yet they were still dismissive and walked right past us. I’m hopeful that other customers don’t experience this in the future and that the servers would be more attentive to customers needs instead of sitting, standing around behind the till and talking amongst themselves. We would of had a good first impression and would return, express our positive experience, and recommend this restaurant.

The Taco happy hour from 12-5pm is great. Under $3/taco! My favourite was the chicken and fried cauliflower. You must order a drink with the taco deal (you can find some under $5). Overall it was a good experience but staff do not all mask up which made me uncomfortable.

Our server Allison was so sweet and amazing! She was so attentive and genuine. We have come in to this specific location before and had horrible experiences from all employees ranging from host to server to management and this was the first experience where we truly felt like our server was kind, knowledgeable, and just so amazing. Previously, specifically at this location, the server has treated us as an inconvenience no matter how much we ordered, no matter how much we tipped, no matter how polite or understanding we were. We were ready to never dine at a cactus club again based on the horrible experiences with the employees but Allison truly was just so amazing. We couldn’t believe how amazing her personality was!

Great happy hour tacos prices, hot sauce selection was on point, service was fast too - would recommend for cheap eats! 2.49/taco on a Tuesday? Who can say no to that deal?

Might be the best nachos in Vancouver, tons of cheese and toppings all evenly distributed. I hate when you get nachos and everything is piled in the middle. Delicious and creative margaritas. Service is good and food & drinks come fast.

I came here few months ago with kids because they wanted to eat tacos unfortunately the stuff wouldn’t let us sit inside because she said the place was “booked” but the whole time we were sitting and eating outside we only saw few people left and no one was coming in. My daughters even went inside to use the restroom before we left (after 50mins of sitting outside and we were the only ones sitting outside too) and they said that the place was completely empty inside even the staff were just chatting. I don’t know what their problem is we all had vaccination passports, it was chilly outside and all of the other places we’ve been to would tell us that oh we’re fully booked from this time to this time and if you want to stay inside you can only stay maximum 1hour or less or you can come at ** time but the staff at this place just flat out told us to sit outside when it’s completely empty inside till we left an hour later. Will never ever go back.

Excellent bar + Mexican restaurant that opens till after midnight.

Had different types of Tacos. They all tasted good. Fish and shrimp tacos were fresh and everything included fresh veggies such as tomatoes making the food feel not heavy or greasy. A bit on the pricier side for the premium Tacos but worth.

We shared a slush bowl. Decent size drink although not something a person couldn't drink if they wanted to. Drink tastes good too.

Ambiance was nice. Great find for a late night dinner date.

Fun place. Went for happy hour and our server, Amanda was great. Decided to go back again later that same evening and Jacey was lovely. The guy at the door seemed to really enjoy his job and interacting with people. Tacos were tasty.

Amazing tacos. We were in town and went on a Tuesday night. Happy hour tacos! Amazing flavor. The OG carnitas, Koren BBQ. Even the dam cauliflower was good! Who likes cauliflower?

I had a reservation for three on the Saturday. We had the poppers jalapeño to start with and it’s the only thing we like on the menu. We order some tacos they were cold and very hard and no flavour at all.the drink are good but sweet. In general I was disappointed with my experience because I really thought it would be better.we had a table close to the door and it was really cold to be sitting there we ask to have an another table and they have all reservations which we did too but we just got a table where the outside door is always open and get very cold inside.

Super chill vibe. Visited on a weekday, service was quick and accurate. The drinks were fantastic, food was great. Would recommend asking for the hot sauce "box" for the adventurous spice hunter. I breathed fire with the XXXtra hot

Don't be swayed by the "rough around the edges" neighbourhood. We love this spot for lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night.
DEFINITELY get the cauliflower tacos and the boujee tater tots with queso cheese. They have a mango jalapeño smoothie which I changed to pineapple jalapeño and it was very good!

Beautiful flower wall, great tacos delicious margaritas. The washrooms are a bit different it's one washroom with many stalls intended for women and men so don't feel awkward when thinking you might be in the wrong washroom!

Trendy place with original Tequila cocktails and good music. Don't sit at the bar, there is a strong (weird) smell.

Was greeted immediately as i walked in, and was well taken care of throughtout my visit there. As a visitor to the city, it felt good to be welcomed, as well as being engaged in conversation.

Great spot with lovely drinks and staff. Please remove the tv screens which are used to earn additional advertising revenue. It's extremely distracting and honestly I'll pay 20c extra per drink not to see it. Don not let this become a thing, thanks

Pawnshop is a must if you’re in the city. Ask for the back patio! It’s beautiful with a greenery aesthetic. We had the KFC tacos and a coconut margarita recommended by Leslie. Great choice. Definitely will be back soon. Thanks for a great night!

Went to the Pawn Shop on a Saturday and had a great time, thanks in part to our server, Ariel. We had a pretty large crew but she never left any of us hanging without a drink in hand. She did a great job and the bar itself had great vibes that matched what we were looking for.

Had the best time at The Pawn Shop on Saturday with Ariel as our server. She was super friendly and even took the time to remember my name despite it being a really busy night. Great drinks and overall vibe - would definitely recommend!

We came here mainly for drinks and had a great time! Had a pretty good selection of tequila and fish bowls! We really liked the purple rain fish bowl we got. The “ask for the manager” drink was not a fan favourite, but maybe we should’ve known from the name.
We were sat in the sheltered outdoor patio and it was so fun! Perfect temperature and fun atmosphere.
The server we had was nice and attentive to our table.
Washrooms were a bit messy but it was also late on a Friday night, so slightly expected.

Good in general, Guac was good but too little guacamole for the amount of chips. Steak tacos were raw. The fish taco was good. Shrimp taco was good but had 2 shrimps in it. Tuna was real good. KFC was really good. And Brisket was by far the best!

Their website sells themselves as an Easy LA inspired restaurant featuring tacos and tequila. Normally their music and vibe matches the image they're trying to portray but lately new staff have replaced that vibe with stereo typical Vancouver sports bar vibe by stopping their music and replacing it with hockey commentary. I understand the need to support local teams but you don't need the commentary. Just play your regular music and let the game play on the screen! Most people don't go there to watch hockey!

We like to support our Canucks too but if you read my comments carefully, you will see that I mentioned that playing the Canucks games was not the problem but the commentary replacing the music was, especially when barely anyone was actually paying attention to the game. If the Pawn Shop was a "sports bar" then hey, feel free! But that's not what you advertise!

Being called a liar hurts when you spend almost 90$

There were 5 wings on the plate which I will admit was the entire wing but still for 15.47$ after tax I believe it was quite a waste for how they tasted. I don’t see how it is equivalent to anything when the actual number is 5 which is what I got to eat period.

Quite unhappy with this response from the restaurant and if you want real authentic Mexican food go someplace else.

Nothing authentic to this place other then the name. Super loud music and a very greasy floor makes it perfect if you don’t want to listen to your table conversation and for a slip on the way to the washroom.

Absolutely great Mexican bar in downtown Vancouver. The Taco's are exquisite and the tequila range is super impressive. Would highly recommend heading here and checking the place out.

What a strange experience.

It took a super long time to get our food, but it was on a Saturday and the tacos were pretty decent but everything else about eating there was weird. We got bottle of water, which was never refilled even though we drank all of it. We never got asked for refills on our drinks. The chips that came with our burrito were clearly very stale and it tasted like they were mixed with differing levels of stale chips from multiple days. When they brought us our food they also didn’t bring up any napkins and since they rarely came to our side of the patio, it took until we were almost done our food until we were able to get any napkins. Lastly, we got churros to go since we live nearby and we were already there for too long, but when we got home the churros were raw on the inside which was a huge disappointment because we loved them so much last time and specifically went back to get them. They also didn’t have the dulce de Leche sauce but a very bland blueberry sauce. It also seemed like they were having a problem with the kitchen because they brought out doubles to our table as well as a few others nearby.

We have done to this restaurant before and it was very good, that was probably a year ago now. So something must have changed since then.

Sat, and waited for 20 minutes. Didnt even touch my drink cause I was pretty annoyed to see my server glued to her phone. Wasted my lunch time waiting for food I never got to order. Service was horrible. Not impressed. Found another place a block away, and honestly the service was a lot better and prices were good to. I wont be back to this establishment anytime soon.

We randomly ended up here and oh boy were we happy we did! They have an awesome happy hour with $1.50 tacos and $4 beers. The service was great and the place is cool. Highly recommended for your happy hour pleasure!

A Fantastic and Lively spot! The Nachos are outrageously delicious and their drinks, -spot on! Also, the Head Boss is professional and super accommodating; cannot wait to go back. They run a great restaurant over there.

Love this spot for tacos and beers. If you love tequila this is the spot. The owner mans the bar often and is very friendly. Will definitely go back. Alone or in a group you will feel at home.

Food tasted really great. We had a selection of tacos, nachos and bowl. All of them were tasty and service was good. Music choice of hard core rap full of profanities/sexist was terrible. Not recommended with children.

The food comes out cold everytime and they won't even reheat it. I made sure the 2nd time around to specify as I ordered that they serve me extra hot food so I won't have to ask to take it back to reheat it. They just throw everything to trash. Had I known I would have eaten cold food rather than to see perfectly good food go to waste. People are starving out there.

My friend and I were looking for a more chill place to drink on a Saturday night and stumbled upon this place. Although it was busy and the music was loud (same as everywhere) we got a table right away and we felt like it was more comfortable than most places. The server was very friendly and had great recommendations for drinks, as I loved the drinks she recommended better than when I stayed and tried something different. I definitely will come by again to try some more options.

I'm updating my review after coming here a few more times. I had originally given a 3 star review because of subpar service. I have since been served my the same server who gave amazing service. She must have been having an off day - happens to us all. Don't go here expecting anything authentic but the food is tasty and there is a ton of fun hot sauce options.

Got food poisoning! Thought the tacos at happy hour were just super dry and gross so only ate about 1.5 tacos (both pork). Felt immediately sick after.

I rather give no stars at all.
I ordered take out at 5pm on Sunday (it’s not even half-full in the bar) and I waited there AN HOUR to get my food. Are you all taking breaks or what? There are tons of places with great food out there and there is no reason to ever be here.

Came to Vancouver with the lady for two days to bar hop and have a good time and came here to pawn shop both nights. Great tacos and great staff. They know how to party and make you feel at home. Went for happy hour with some friends. Manager came around a few times to check up on our table and server Bailey was exceptional. Tacos were delicious and rating would be 5 stars if the food had been a bit warmer. Overall a great experience, will be returning.

Food was exceptional if only the service matched the taste of the food. Didn't seem to busy, not sure if the place is short staffed or just inexperienced servers, made the experience lower then I would like to say. Had to wave down the server several times. Drinks took too long to arrive to our tables my one friend ordered a water at the beginning of the meal, I asked for one when I arrived and had to ask her a couple times for her to bring it, she brought several other items one at a time, she seemed to like to walk back and forth from the bar and never used a tray once. I know this isn't a five star restaurant but seriously servers in this city have lost quality and expect a tip from there guests without doing any work.

Server/bartender acted like they didn’t want to be there and was giving attitude towards me and the person I came with at our table. Overall experience wasn’t good.

Amazing tacos, amazing price, amazing staff, amazing drinks and personally LOVE the atmosphere. Gender neutral washroom, which I didn’t mind at all but just a heads up for anyone that might not like that. Great place to check out before you go for a night out. Well be back to try a different fishbowl!

Awesome atmosphere, delicious margaritas and drinks and some seriously great taco bowls! Loved the Brussel sprouts! This place is super cool and I've been there 3 times in the past month:)
