Literally the best store I’ve ever been too. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. The stock is incredible and the owner is such a solid guy. I never leave the store disappointed. I love that you always have staff willing to help with any questions or needs because any other pet store I’ve gone in and out no one noticed. The fish in the store are so healthy snd the tanks are so clean! I cannot reccomend this store enough for any pet need anyone may have. If the store doesn’t have what you want or need they also are willing to order in things for you!

I've been having a difficult time setting up a new tank, but Kai and his team at Purple Seahorse have been outstanding with helping out and going the extra mile. It really shows that they care about any animal and that it is getting the best care. You guys rock!

I've been shopping with the purple seahorse for just over a decade now. They've always had incredibly knowledgeable staff with absolutely WONDERFUL attitudes. When they switched ownership I was a little worried about how the direction of the store would go. With that being said, I found out Kai Heinrich had taken over the shop! I was PLEASANTLY surprised to hear this, as I knew Kai outside of the pet/fish world! He was always a VERY intelligible and compassionate man, with a heart as big as the moon. He's gone above and beyond to ensure that the purple seahorse has not only kept its amazing reputation, but even went so far as to vastly improve on its reputation in town. Something I didn't think was possible, really considering how highly regarded they were in town.

All this being said, Kai and his team will go absolutely above and beyond for any single human/4 legged friend that walks through his doors. He's provided me with a great back up plan for my whisper 100 air pump that failed the other day. I seriously can't stress how great of a store this place truly is.

Kai and the team are always helpful, and even if they don't know everything about their hundreds of animals and products, they'll Google stuff for you on the spot! They're all pet owners too, so they know how to care about what you care about, and take your concerns and feed back seriously. 10/10 would recommend.

The purple sea horse is one of the last pet shops that deal with animals and can make you feel like your at an old neighborhood pet shop back in the day. No matter what your needs or wants are let the staff make you smile and feel welcomed. Come and see the beautiful animals they have to offer from fish to lizards snakes spiders frogs birds and so much more fresh water and salt water fish! I promise you won't leave disappointed at all. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional at all times! I love going there to just look at the animals or to say hi to Deaner the best parrot ever! And if they don't have what ypur looking for they can either bring it in or find it for you! The staff always goes out of there way just to make you and your pets feel loved!

This store has high quality supplies for fresh water and salt water tanks. The staff care about their customers and their pets. There is a sense of community and care carried by the staff and it can be felt in the store and by customers. As a first time tank owner, I felt super welcomed as an inexperienced owner looking to learn.

This little store is one of the most amazing little pet stores you will ever find! The staff is out of this world! They are so helpful and amazing how they go above and beyond! They make life so much easier! The special order fish makes my aquarium the best on the block because of them! The animals are all well taken care of and healthy as can be! They definitely know what there doing that's for sure!) I will always stop in and say hi when I am in the neighborhood there's nothing like seeing a neighborhood pet store with live animals brings me back to the good old days!)

Absolutely love this great local business and all the staff. The owner is so friendly to chat with when shopping for the picky kitty. The catnip pillows are beyond awesome!

Just a joke of a local store, stopped carrying a food my dogs used that they got me on and now suggest it’s to expensive for them to sell…. Awesome! Last I checked customers buy …. Well looks like another local store will loose support on to the big box stores

Friendly staff, and has a large assortments of items for a bunch of different animal/pet types.

I can't say enough about this pet store, I only wish they were closer. The staff go above and beyond. When we couldn't find a place to board our Paçoca, Kai bent over backwards to try help. Recently, we had to leave our beardie with them for 11 days, they gave him so much care and attention Thank you to everyone at PSH!

Owner will hit on any and all females. My wife left VERY uncomfortable... We discovered Bosleys a block away and that is now our go to.

Ive been coming here to this store for 7 months now. At first. I had no idea what I was doing and nervous to ask questions. 7 months later my tanks thriving!

This team led by the owner Kai are wonderful! They take the time to answer questions even when its busy. They are pationate pet people and the customer service is incredible especially from the store parrot who greets you with a "hello" when you enter the store.

I really wish that this place wasn't so overpriced in regards to its marine fish. I bought a yellow-tailed damselfish there last week and it cost $10 more than priced at other stores. Also the owner is a bit of a gatekeeper; I called a month or two back inquiring about emerald crabs (I wanted just one more scavenger/algae muncher for my tank,) and he launched into a rant, completely ignoring the many hours of research that I repeatedly asserted that I had. I know that many people go into the aquarium hobby not knowing much but I had literally been watching youtube videos and reading nonstop for months with many obsessed hours each day (reefing is a hyperfixation of mine,) and my tank was well cycled, with my first livestock (added weeks earlier,) doing just fine. It distressed me because all I wanted to know was whether he had any emerald crabs in stock and I felt like I got verbally tackled over the phone. Ever since, the few times that I have been in the shop I have nervously retreated out the door the moment that I recognized his voice. Please, LISTEN when potential customers tell you that they have thoroughly done their research and TRUST them. PLEASE.

Otherwise a good amount of supplies and selection of other pets but for saltwater fish this place is my last resort.

Hi there! I just wanted to give a shout out to Jail that helped me at the store today. What an awesome team member! The store was super busy and he showed no stress at all and helped everyone with a smile. I will definately be shopping there more often. It's so great to have awesome customer service!

Been going here 3 years since moving to Kelowna friendly and knowledgeable staff an unmatched willingness to get you what you need even if they have to order it and most importantly the owner is an absolute saint for taking in animals during this natural disaster.
