Hello

I don't know about the resoling of regular shoes but this is the worst resole for my climbing shoes I have ever had. I used them 4 days and the rubber is getting unglued already

3 weeks to stitch a pull tab on my boot. 3 weeks? Time for repairing a 2 minute stitch unreasonable. Furthermore the pull tab was not even stitched straight. You had one job, and it took 3 weeks and wasn’t done correctly. You can do better for your customers

The work is great but there is nothing “quick” about this cobbler. It took six weeks for a simple topy sole.

I always leave my shoes here for repairs and I love the place. At this time they are booking to deliver Dec 22nd. I would love their turn around to be a bit quicker and cheaper but we don't leave in the perfect world. Other than that I recommend this place. I bring expensive shoes there to fix and maintain and they never disappoint me. Thank you

Review is for the used shoe drop off. I brought in a few shoes and they were happy take them. Great to know that shoes that are too-nice-to-donate, but not pristine enough for consignment, but has intrinsic value for someone else to wear, so good. Plus, shoes use lots of carbon to create, and so this is a great way to upcycle, reuse and recirculate for a better planet, and help others. Thanks for having this program!

I’ve just begun to be in contact with this company. It’s so refreshing to to communicate with someone who responded quickly and effectively!
Can’t wait to see how my Blundstone’s reconditioning turns out.

After a few seasons of wear, the outsoles on my goodyear-welted Thursday Boots required replacement. After some research, I decided to mail my boots from Alberta to The Quick Cobbler to get the job done. Patrick and his team are the real deal, and were able to offer me genuine Dainite studded soles. They completed the job quicker than I expected, and even included a replacement midsole as this is how the boots were built from the factory. The Fourth Generation Craftsmanship is what drew me in, and the Quality Control is what will keep me coming back.

The name should be “Slow and ridiculously expensive” just to get simple new soles cost way more than the shoes when new and they take more than a month to do it.
I found a place that for the same quality the cost was 1/3 of their price and were ready in a week. Think about that and look for another cobbler, this one is ridiculous all around…

I went in to fix my Italian leather dress shoes. The leather was scraped off the front of the shoe on one of them! I was kind of disappointed b/c what happens if I can’t find someone to repair this specific type of issue… I called these guys up, I paid around $20 dollars to get my shoes fix and the final results were great! These guys are totally worth it! Definitely check them out!

I saw the reviews warning about the service and I chose to ignore them and give this shop a try.

I took my boots in. They needed a new sole as the tread was getting low. They were also disintegrating a little bit in a small spot on the layer between the tread and the bottom of the boot on the side. The young woman booked them in. After talking about getting the new part on the bottom with the tread replaced, I pointed out at the end of the visit how they were disintegrating between these layers a little too. I guess I didn’t mention this early enough or understand the importance of this because she indicated that it wasn’t important and could be taken care of next time if it got worse. But when the disintegrating area grew a number of months later, they told me that it can’t simply be repaired and it needed to have that disintegrating layer completely replaced and also get ANOTHER sole that was compatible with this. So essentially I was presented with the option to pay twice for this job because they should have assessed and done it right the first time.

I talked to the owner and he did offer to give me the next sole at 50% off, but even at 50% it was still an expensive mistake on their part that I don’t think I should have had to have paid for. He wasn’t willing to budge on this.

This was before covid but still relevant as it’s still the same ownership.

I left my boots at Quick Cobbler on July 29, and the pick up date was August 18th and my boots were still not ready. Quick Cobbler made me wait for almost a month without even notifying me midway through that they cant get me boots done on time. They wasted my time and i could have gone to a different cobbler in the meantime. When i came in on July 29 old guy didnt even seem interested in booking a time for me. Additionally, they claim that theyre slow because all of their workers were on vacation in august, but when i inquired for services in september, they also claimed that it will take a month because their workers are on vacation. Mind you i dont think their workers are on vacation 24/7 because the average vacation time for employees in Canada is 2 weeks. I think they simply dont have workers- and i wonder why nobody wants to work for them. I do not recommend the Quick Cobbler unless you're an old white lady.

Responding to quick cobbler's response: the lady who called me did not mention that the boots just need "ONE more day of repair time"; she said "theyre gonna take more time" which is more open-ended and doesnt actually tell me when theyll be ready. Second, why couldnt you respond back to my voice message and actually clarify that, or do you only respond to reviews in order to save face? Third, i did not send a rude email, i only mentioned that i do not care and ill be picking up my boots regardless. I worked in customer service too and if i was you i would have offered an apology and remedial action instead of pretending that you're the victim online. Im guessing you have so much generational wealth you dont even care about clarifying anything to customers Mr.fourth generation settler.

I had my pair of work boots repaired and they ended up coming back better than when I bought them! Thanks for the great workmanship!

Good work have resoled and fixed several pairs of work boots. Always happy with the results

I got my boots re-soled here a few times now, and their quality of work is great! The turn around time can be a bit long, but if you can wait a month or two it’s worth it.

They do a competent job but should be called the Slowest Cobbler in Canada. They have had a 2 month backlog for any service for almost a year and the owner hasnt lifted a finger to address the issue. When coupled with the highest prices in town and a strange requirement to pay 100% of their assessed fee up front, it becomes obvious you are best served taking your business elsewhere.

Took my Birkenstocks to get resealed and cleaned 10/10 experience! Pretty good sense of humour too

Very quick, excellent job, and fair prices. The cobbler made great suggestions to get my my desired outcome on a pair of shoes with straps that were too long.

Very friendly and professional service. I had a pair of hiking boots, which sole had separated from the top, repaired. Only time will tell the quality of the repair. 5 stars for the service for now.

Amazing experience with The Quick Cobbler. I had reached out in email about a Chisel toe Blundstone resole, and Patrick emailed back the next day, super friendly! Chisel toe is less common of a Blundstone shape so I was super glad they could help me out.

In email, Patrick had shared with me they could put any sole I wanted on the boots, on their website they've listed their recommendations and most popular options. Once in store, the front desk staff were very helpful in guiding me through what they can do. It turns out I could also choose between a foam or a rubber welt, polish/no polish, recondition/no recondition, and of course even more sole options.

In the end I went with a foam welt, the Stockbridge sole (to continue the dressy vibe), no polish (the shoes were originally in nubuck so I wanted it kept as is), and recondition. They also were so kind to replace my insoles. Loving the service! My boots have lasted me almost 8 years when a crack started forming on one of the soles, and was slowly getting worse. I paid a visit at that time to book a slot, and the front desk let me know their next booking was a month out (busy winter season!), though I could keep wearing the boots in the mean time. I wore the boots until the first moment water started was seeping in from the bottom, and while they said they could have repaired the midsole, I preferred less complications so didn't. Now, the boots feel solid and like new, and well worn in too:) Here's hoping to another decade!

(Photos taken a few weeks after the repair - happy to say, they are doing very well up against rainy Vancouver downpours, and keeping my feet completely dry)

Excellent service. They take a very long time to complete repairs, but the wait is definitely worth it. They do it to perfection.
31 January 2023 16:16
2 month turn around time for a sole change.it probably takes less time to make whole new boots. Unless this place is repairing boots for the entire Vancouver, it shouldn't take this long for a boot sole change.

I am extremely disappointed with the Quick Cobbler and recommend you take your beloved shoes elsewhere. I went by with a pair of leather boots, in a poor state, and asked if they would be able to help clean them up (there were nicks, a couple of the grommets were loose, overall old leather boots wear and tear). The man at the counter said yes of course they can buff the nicks, fix the grommets, and overall help give my boots more life. So I trusted him - third generation business, I was inspired.

When I went back for the boots they looked terrible. They are now three different colours (all different from the original colour), the loose grommets were pulled out but not replaced nor fixed, just tied into the ends of my shoelaces. Overall the boots like terrible and I feel really disappointed. When I shared this with the staff at the counter she essentially said 'sorry too bad'.

If you love your leather boots, keep them away from the Quick Cobbler.

Resoled Bloodstones, seam coming off and breaking WITHIN two weeks. It was a mailed in order so I did not bother sending them back and paid more shipping.

Edit: I apologize as I was not aware of the policy before my comment.

Old-school quality craftsmanship! I'm happy I took my boots here for a sole replacement. They did a fantastic job of seamlessly stitching the new Vibram sole onto them. The boots are now as good as new. Thanks!

No need to replace your favorite shoes when they can fix them and extend their lives!

These old Birkenstocks that were going to be replaced are now better than brand new ones. Why? Because they put a Vibram sole on them so they are way less slippery.

They also rebuilt my favorite Scarpa Hiking boots! A discontinued model so I am so happy to give them a massive life extension!

Patrick did an amazing job on a complete, zero drop re-sole of my Blundstones with Vibram Kletter soles. He and his team were friendly, professional, and communicative throughout the process. I couldn't be happier with their expert service, or recommend The Quick Cobbler more highly.

Highly reputable for repair service and workmanship.

We recently had a pair of shoes re-soled.

They did a great job. The shoe looks new. And feels comfortable.

They are typically busy and not so quick. But we did not mind.

You have to make advance payment for the full invoice. “You pay as you go”.
