The Raving Gamer Bistro

Just heard about this place today do we gave it a shot. Had a great time and food was top notch. Had the mushroom soup that is right on par with the scratch made mushroom soup my mom makes, and i consider moms to be it's own food group. Buffalo burger and fries were AWESOME! Nice smoky flavour and I didnt want to put it down. Oh, and the milkshakes.drool worthy! All while playing an game of yahtzee lol.lots of neat games to play and even buy if you like them. Staff was super friendly too. Without a doubt I will be back

Never really gotten food here but the drinks are tasty and have great names. Can't beat a place to grab a couple casual drinks and play some tabletop board games. This is a regular for us, highly recommend!

Service is alittle slow considering it's not that big and there were enough servers
Food is okay with the burgers we had can't say about anything else the menu looks good would like to go back and try something different. The fries were good but they were just warm

Amazing gluten free options! Food was so good and the board game aspect is a lot of fun! We were there for a while and they didn’t mind. Will definitely be coming back for the amazing food and games!

We've come here a few times for playing some board games, but the hidden gem is the unbelievable food.

The spicy fries are unique and perfect. 10/10

I just had the Hot Honey Sandwich and this might be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. Not only is it an incredible and unique sauce that I've never tasted before, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the bread was fresh and perfect.

I cant recommend this highly enough. If you're going to go out for food and you like Chicken, you MUST try this Sandwich.

Honestly had an amazing time here. The food was absolutely delicious. We came to have a games night with our kids but were pleasantly surprised by how great the food was. A lot of great games to choose from as well and the night should always end with a plate of warm cookies.

Friendly staff. To be honest, I like how Boardwalk Cafe in Abbotsford does it, where you just grab the games yourself. Also, fluorescenty lighting didn’t give the greatest vibe. Just a couple thoughts.

Staff wasn’t pleasant, food was good, service was slow despite there being only 1 other small group there. We were greeted with a staff member that looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but there, who reluctantly wiped down a booth for us. The waitress was extremely short with us which deterred us from even picking up a game. Water was not refilled once despite being empty and a group that came after us was receiving much better treatment and even left before us! We had to flag down our waitress at the end even though the restaurant had only two other groups there. Probably would not go again, will stick to the Turquoise Goat (friendly and knowledgeable staff).

We made reservations for a large group which they accommodated no problem on a long weekend. We were there on Friday. Our server was WONDERFUL. The food was amazing, absolutely better than average as some reviews have said. Beer was great, i had a coconut lime sour. Lots of games to chose from! Will definitely be back.

I appreciate how the staff helped us with the set up and instructions on game play for a new game we tried out. Definitely had a lot of fun and will be back again

First time coming - had high hopes

Unfortunately, staff were rather busy talking, rather than checking on tables. By the time I had asked for an additional beer our plates had already been cleared and were told no further alcohol service could be offered due to licensing without food. Had staff been more diligent it would of a better time as me and my wife had shared a plate.

If I had known about the licensing or had better communication with staff I think it would of been a great experience.

Games for purchase and games for use were great!
-beverages, grill cheese and hot chocolate were tasty

Cons:
Lack of communication about order restrictions/expectations put a damper for evening. Who doesn’t like a sleeve of beer with a great game?

It’s too bad honestly; as the tap list was phenomenal.

Love this place for a casual meal and games with friends. The food surprised me. I was expecting diner type food, but it's gourmet. The charcuterie board, bison burger and coffee are my faves. Really nice menu including a vegan menu. They cater (proudly, I think) to special dietary needs. So respectful on their part. Hard drinks also available, but I haven't tried any. I have to keep my wits about me when competing at games.

2 in 1 bonus, you get to choose from over 300 board games to play while you eat. Perfect for all ages including for families, couples, friends. The food was amazing, I tried the sandwich (shown in picture) that used a coffee BBQ sauce.

Talk about a family friendly fun place.was packed on Saturday Eve with people having loads of fun in their groups, small and large. Only had appetisers to go along with our games but they were spectacular.

Had a blast playing the games here. The food was out of this world! If you have a group of friends who love to hang out and have fun this is the place to go!

A great place to hang out and pkay board games. They have a variety of board games to choose from. The food and beverages served are ok.

Good place, creative theme and was a nice experience! The staff was extremely friendly and the place had amazing selections of board games ready for people. Definitely a family friendly place. The food was okay- I would say it was a bit expensive compared to the quality and the portion of the food. Felt like $15 should have been enough. I understand the 2 hours limit for staying there but did not understand the limit of 2 board games in total because what are you supposed to do, play Jenga for an hour? I would recommend to visit there at least once with your friends or family for a fun game night- not sure about revisiting. Overall a solid 3/10 experience.

We love The Raving Gamer. It's our favourite place to go and try games we've never played, and the food is delicious. Don't forget to browse their awesome selection of games for sale after your meal!

A fun cafe with friendly knowledgeable staff. This place offers a good selection of food items and an even larger variety of board games to play. Prices are reasonable - the food quality is only okay but they allow patrons to play board game on premise for hours. I'd visit this place again

Our crew had Burgers, Flat Iron Steak & The spaghetti all were delicious and the service was top notch and very attentive.

I've only been here once but I loved the food and we ended up playing a board game that we loved so much we went out and bought it. Love this idea for a bistro and will definitely be coming back.

This was our first time at this restaurant and I wish we had gone sooner. We had a great evening playing board games while enjoying awesome food and beer with our friends. We can’t wait to go back.

Whenever I visit my friends in Langley, we end up coming here at some point. Lots of good board games to play, decent food/drink options (including vegan stuff) and friendly staff. We always end up browsing their selection of games for sale as we leave too. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious, as well as our cocktails. Loved that they use local products. The owner (?) was passionate about games and we loved his game recommendation. Only 4 stars though because our server was very slow and didn't come to our table much. We saw a table leave because they weren't being served. She was very nice though! Will definitely be back.

This was an incredible experience, we went for the boardgames but it was WAY more than just that, good boardgame selection, the food was so freaking good and affordable, the drinks were amazing and the tables were the perfect size, enough room to sit comfortably, have your food AND boardgame out at the same time. I would 100% recommend.

If you come here for the games, you'll have a ton of fun.but if you come here for the food.it's nothing extra special. The poke bowl lacks a little luster (it needs more flavour to add some punch, it just felt like soy sauce in a bowl). The hot honey chicken could have been great, but it was one range in flavour. Had they added some banana peppers or some other spice and a hint more tang (a kick of lime or some more pickles) it would have elevated. It would have given that sweet and spicy/tang taste that everyone loves, rather than just overly sweet. The service was great and the games are alot of fun.so. If your here for some pub food and a good time, would reccomend.just don't come with the expectation of amazing food

HUGE range of games, and the staff have played almost every game, so they can walk you through what ever game you pick. Lots of just released games so you will find something there you haven't played before. They also have the oldies like battle ship for that nostalgic feeling.

Local beer selection and delicious food, many ingrediants sourced from close by! The cookie platter for desert is my favorite. The staff are so nice and accommodating! Go here!

Really nice and unique setup: boardgames and food. They have booths and small/large tables to cater to different group sizes. The boardgames selection is quite nice, have games for kids/preschool, family and friends. We came here for their brunch menu. The bowls are a bit small portion so it's not filling. No free drinks refill unfortunately. 2 hour sitting time limit. 2 games limit.

Brand new restaurant with lots of board games to occupy your time. Spent 4 hours there but it felt shorter for whatever reason! Very helpful staff and friendly as well.

From what the owner (?) Told me, everything is local and made in house. And believe me it showed. It was so delicious and fresh. I got the Fried Squid (not calamari) and I wanted a bigger portion it was that good! Go check them out!

Must go back, this place has a fun vibe that is worthy of a return trip. The food was really good and I'd go back for the food without the games to be honest

Great environment, solid selection of games (for gamer veterans and newbies alike) and wonderful staff! They helped us out with learning a new game (Photosynthesis—highly recommend!), and were all around super friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back!

Delicious locally sourced food, beautiful airy restaurant, gorgeous details everywhere. It’s hard to pick my favourite part- the charming staff (Kathy), the squid appy or the atmosphere. We will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. If you are a foodie this is the place for you. We never got around the playing any games but there is also a private party game room too.

What a great place!
Our group came here with a few differently abled people, and found games for everyone! The wait staff, hostess, and owner were above and beyond kind, understanding, and helpful.
Tuesday mornings are quiet they said, so it's a good time to come if you have friends or family members who get sensory overload easily. We went today (Tuesday morning) and it was just perfect for our group! I forgot to look and see if there is a handy cap switch for the door, but they're so helpful I know they'd open the door for you.

Can't wait to go back!

Good food. Only tried a couple small appies. But the burgers others were eating looked amazing! All made in house and locally sourced. Games were fun. Beers and gin, tasty. Had a great first time with the kids. Great atmosphere. Great staff. They know the games well and showed us how to play. Wish the owners nothing but success here. We'll absolutely be back!

I went here a couple nights ago and it was great. Our server was really sweet and prompt when we needed anything. Great selection of games to play and for sale. The menus are really unique and the food was good, we shared a grilled cheese and a charcuterie board which was my favourite! Nice to have a gaming restaurant out here in Langley, I'm excited to see this place grow into a bustling nerdvana.

Great food, great games, excellent service! I had the steak frites and it was cooked perfect and priced perfectly. Best for a group of board game enthusiasts. Extra large tables fit for games. Comfortable spacious dining space too. Going again for sure!

Great food, great atmosphere. Quickly becoming one of our favorite places to go for an evening of food and games.

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today and were super impressed. All the staff was really nice and friendly. There is a huge selection of games to choose from and the staff even helps you learn how to play the game if you're confused. We will definitely go again and highly reccomend this restaurant.

Outstanding service; catered to our group of 12 frequently and quickly throughout our 3.5-hour stay. Helpful recommending/choosing games. Super friendly. A mistake was made with our reservation and they rectified it ASAP. Space is bigger than it looks. Great atmosphere! Love that we could’ve booked a private room too (maybe next time) Game selection is quite good. Games for purchase is exceptional for a cafe; a wide range and very up to date. Food was, sadly, just okay (tho I really like the place so wish I could say better) Beer selection is limited but a good variety. Most of my group were just okay with their food (fries were soggy, squid and mushrooms were both small and simple, cookies were over baked) Neighbouring table did burgers tho, and those looked legit. Suggest they need more salty munchies and finger foods! Will certainly be back, I will say!

A lot of people ask me where I go to eat for dinner, and after eating here I will be recommending these guys. The beer was excellent and the Buffalo burger was killer and have to give shout out to the crispy and tender calamari. Great selection of games to enjoy with your meal and drink and very nice and suttle decor. I highly recommend you give them a try. The owners as a side note are also very kind and accommodating to us and our 2 children. Chef Ken knows his stuff!

Great atmosphere, the staff is knowledgeable and there to make sure you have a good time. A lot of thought went into the design and decor.

We went in the day time so it was not busy at all. It's only recently opened but it has a great concept. Big tables to play on with a pretty large selection of games to play. Small menu with gluten friendly options. Had the buffalo burger which was good. Juicy patty good flavour. Food is almost all locally sourced. Good place to hang out with the family or some friends.

Awesome game suggestions, and they also sell rare board games to boot! I asked for a game they didn't have at that moment and they were prepared to run home to grab it. 5/5. Also get the smoked olives

Just had an awesome night at the new Raving Gamer Bistro in Langley! Food was fab, I am absolutely stuffed! Had a lot of fun playing Frustration while we waited for our food. The atmosphere was friendly, accommodating, relaxed and lively all at the same time. There were tons of games to choose from and you can join others for some friendly competition and banter. Congratulations to the owners, well done!

Went to The Raving Gamer Bistro yesterday. We had their Beyond Burger and Mac n' Cheese. Food was awesome! Also had a few craft beer, which were also delicious. We played Ticket to Ride for a few hours! My new favourite place in Langley! Great place to bring a date, hang with a group of friends, or bring the kids and play some board games.

Overall awesome experience! Great food and great beer. Menu is a bit on the smaller side but everything I've tried was great! Clean and simple atmosphere is really nice. Great lunch spot, can't wait to go back!
