The Salvation Army Thrift Store

My experience at the thrift store was horrible. I was using my bag to put skirts in that I was going to purchase from the store hi man. Please. Individuals who work here are accusing me. I'm stealing from their store. Because I decided to use my own bag to put clothing items So I did not have to put in a basket and carry it around. So now this place has now lost accustomed. That would have spent hundreds of dollars here. And now babe, I'm kissing me up. The don't go to the store. He's individuals who work here should be fired. Horrible horrible people and whatever customer who is inside saying. I was putting things inside my bag. The horrible individual as well. Because I was using it to put things. Am Ibad to carry? Through the contrary disturbs to purchase. Now I'm not purchasing anything from there. I will find somewhere else to find something to match with my dress.

I’ve read the reviews before and was always so confused why people say the customer service is bad because i never had any issue until today. I come here all the time i’ve spent quit a bit of money here. There’s a rack behind the counter with more expensive items and they always had no problem letting me look at the things but today when i asked the bigger lady if i could look at the rack she stared at me for a while and said it’s not aloud but i can do it fast with a judgemental look on her face so i just dropped the items i found and left because they’ve never acted like that about it before. I’m definitely not giving any more money to this location it’s sad cus it’s close to my house and i come alot but the attitude of staff is unacceptable. I saw a man a few minutes prior looking back there as well. Like please actually listen to the hundred of bad reviews and do something about the horrible staff

I went to Salvation aArmy Thrift Store in Newton Surrey next to Newton Recreation Centre and I tell you one of the female employees was rude to me had bad customer service skills and accused me of something I did not do and judged me by my appearance

The recent reviews of this place do not surprise me. The staff here are extremely condescending, ignorant and plain rude.

After examining a pair of jeans I found a large brown stain in the groin area. Upon asking if the pants could possibly be repriced, I was told by a cashier by the name of ‘Priankathi’ or something along the lines of that, I could have 10% off. These pants aren’t even fit for sale. Insulted, I asked if I could speak to the manager this nasty lady said “no you may not. ”

By chance, the manager walked over and I asked her if she could reconsider. While the manager was looking at the pants the cashier whispered to the manager, and the manager said “you can have 10% off. ”

Priankathi smiled and was terrible the rest of the transaction.horrible!

I went on a shopping spree and I enjoyed my shopping experience here. In fact, I am going again very soon.
Great selection, great prices, clean organized and well stocked store. Friendly and fast service at the check-out.

Just saw a delaminating blood stained jacket for $50 and I was wearing the exact same but clean and I paid $35 for it, upon mention she laughed and moved it to the showcase items. Pure greed.

Some of the staff members should change their attitude or get a new job, many overpriced items as well

I bought a pair of pants in there and brought back both of the receipts and just because the tags weren't there they wouldn't refund or they wouldn't let me exchange or anything so basically I lost 10 bucks very disappointing I'll never shop there again

I have been to this place only once to donate.there was one lady staff who misbehaved with my wife, she explained something and my wife took some time to react and she started yelling,

Had to visit the store in Langley travelling double distance.staff in Langley is nice and polite and they actually make you feel better and if they refuse something they are very polite

This place has rude employees.had to fight the idiot to donate a large amount of clothes. Tells me the clothes have to be in bags then brings me a small bag for seven winter and fall coats. Will never donate here again. Should appreciate all donations!

The store is nice and organized but I found one of the employees very rude. I was in line waiting to pay and I offered for another party to pay before me because I had a lot of items. One of the employees then started to raise her voice and talk to me in a condescending manner, asking for me to pay first. Her name is Priyanthi.

A great place to check out, on a regular basis.

Dont buy electronics from this store.i wasted 15 dollars amd that was a final sale you cant even change or return.even they r not working when u try to use at ur home.and there it shows power n rotation but when i put stuff in that blender coming home.it dont even rotate once.i feel like cheated.secondly lady staff is not nice here.they keep eye on you.if u spent much time in choosing things.dosent make sence in anyway.

I had a great experience donating my gently used items here, the person working helped my carry my heavy bags of donations and gave me a coupon for my next purchase! Very friendly staff, I would definitely visit this location again, a lot better than the White Rock location.

I've been here several times and have only found one thing- it would be easier to find what I'm looking for it the items were organized in some fashion (color, style.etc)

Lovely staff & clothes that are worth buying)! Just bought brand new, original tags still on, camoflouge tights, that were originally $20 from ardene, @ salvation for 3.99$!

Doing great work for the Newton area, the Salvation Army in general deserves to be applauded, but this store itself is great for those looking for something unique at a discount price, and they can rest assured knowing their money will be going towards aiding the less fortunate as well.

I think I've had about enough of this place after going there regularly for 4-5 years now. The place is a cluttered mess, especially in the electronics section. But most of all, the staff is just infuriating at times at how incompetent they are. They tend to just walk around in a daze and get in people's way, and still have issues using the register or understanding English. Just tonight one of them was taking a personal call up at the cashiers station and I've seen her do it before as well (When there was a line-up). They keep hiring people who are apathetic and it shows every time I go in there. I won't be having to deal with this no more fortunately, as I will not be coming back.

Love going here to just look at their kitchenware, knickknacks and books. Like a treasure hunt.

Employees are very sweet here. Lots of treasures of you're willing to look, and good deals/discounts happening often.

The management has greatly improved in tidying up the place. They're doing a nice job in keeping the place clean and organized, however, the lady staffs are very rude, unfriendly, cold and it has been like this for the past 4,5 years since I started shopping at this location. They have unwelcoming approach and judgmental behavior towards customers particularly POC. Ironically enough, they don't speak English very well themselves. To be blunt their English sucks. Because it's very close to my house, I always donate clothing and household items there. Thinking that it's for a good cause, but their service is horrible. I'm very interested to know the person who is marking prices for this store because donated old items are marked $6 and $7. It's better to shop from a dollar store. As mentioned above, they highly lack customer service skills.

Love the choices. May even get to find branded clothing at great prices. They give you a discount voucher if you donate something.

Give all you can, but when you go and buy something for them, they can gave you a cold shoulder as if you are a beggar. They forgot that those items that they are selling came from same people who donated, they just want different items. Unbelievable stuff. It is even written in the price tag that clothing can be exchange within 10 days. Not even 10 days when we went to exchange 2 clothing with the price tag still intact they charge us saying that it was bought when it was 1/2 price. We were just trying to exchange coz my husband did not try due to his wheelchair won't fit in their dressing area, but she won't listen saying, " yah yah, yah, I will give you half price with this since it its not half price anymore" but took those items that we were trying to exchange with the same price tag instead of no charge. We even showed the receipt. Never again to deal with these people. Disappointing! Not helping. You can buy new item somewhere else even cheaper.

Not a lot of trendy finds and the price is like $4-$8 for a t-shirt and mostly older clothes, not a great place for teen clothes but decent.

Waiting in line for our purchase, my SO and I watched a young girl no more than 14 years old ask the staff if they could phone her father for her. She was obviously distraught, she was crying and scared. The staff said no twice, before they decided between the two they would call for the young girl. She dialed the number, and quite promptly hung up. It was clear that she didn't allow the phone to even ring and told the young girl there was "No answer. " The girl left the store furiously.
