I love love love TSD! They have an excellent array of products. (I mean, four different kinds of dates? !) And I think the prices are fair. I'm so grateful that they make it easy to avoid all the standard over-packaged goods. Also, all the staff are super friendly. Kudos to Linh the owner.

They used to be disorganized and chaotic but the process has gotten SO much smoother since they transitioned their ordering process.
This small business gets all the A+ for all their sustainability efforts and providing conscious products in a big box world

Love the products and staff! My husband and I have been coming here for about 2 years, we wanted to be more environmentally friendly by reducing waste and this store made it so much easier to take the first step. Most to all of our cleaning supplies are from here including hand/body soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing powder/soap. Everything is natural and smells wonderful. Staff are the friendliest and always willing to help new customers.

I've been shopping at the Soap Dispensary for years and it's been exciting seeing how it's grown and changed over time. Prices are comparable if not cheaper than the same product in regular stores. Dispensing products into our own containers takes awhile due to the nature of what you're actually needing to do, but the "work" is front-loaded rather than after finishing a product having to recycle and dispose of the containers. Keep up the great work!

I really, really wanted to like this place. I love the package free concept and generally try to do the right thing environmentally. But this place takes freakin forever- first when you wait outside (limit 6 per person inside) but none of the sales people seem to notice you waiting and you just stand there feeling stupid. Then when you actually get into the store they are very slow at filing orders - expect another 10-15 minute wait.

To think this store could cater to anyone but those of privilege who can spend 30+ minutes making a separate trip to a store that sells little to no fresh produce - is laughable. The Soap Dispensary seems destined more for those who like Instagram and wander in off Main St, not for the everyday person serious about doing their part for the environment.

It would be great if we had more places like this in Vancouver. The kind that promotes eco-friendly options for the most common day-to-day activities (cooking, baking, cleaning). The Soap Dispensary is a good example of this business model, offering bulk items to take care of these basic needs. Even if they do sell a few types of containers and utensils necessary to use their products, they encourage you to bring your own containers. Staff there will diligently explain to you how their self-service system works, always there to help you out. Their prices tend to be a bit higher on some of the items they sell, but this is to be understood as a result of the different economy of scale. In any case, this is a business we should support.

They refused to give me a printed paper receipts. They also do not price around 80% of their products. The store is quite crowded because of poor layout and those with strollers easily block the aisles. The employees are also not very helpful and somewhat stuck up. Not a very enjoyable place. It seems like the store has its own sort of membership and loyal following so they have very little incentive to do anything that would make one, as a customer, want to come back ever. In terms of soap, mid at best.

The coolest shop. It has everything you need to start making more eco friendly choices and to fill up on your favourite products. Just a bit on the expensive side.

I wanted to make bathbombs so I ventured out to this shop hoping to grab all the ingredients in one fell swoop, but too bad someone bought all the citric acid right before I came in. This place is split into two sections: food section (kitchen utensils, spices, food coloring, etc) and body section (soap, lotion, creams, oils). The staff is friendly, approachable and willing to help. Prices for items are a tad more expensive, but it's a one stop shop when fully stocked so you pay for convenience. They also offer classes for various hobbies.

Similar concept as Nada grocery (refillable) but prices seem more reasonable. I love the new layout too. So happy this cool store exists.
