Really poor experience. The girl was very very nice and honestly quite enjoyable but just very young and inexperienced. Service took way longer than it should’ve (more than double the time, I was there for 2.5 hrs for a pedicure)

The seating is uncomfortable, the chairs are at an awkward angle where you’re constantly sliding forward and trying to catch/hold yourself so as not to move your foot and mess up the work. Felt like a core workout after the amount of time I spent there. I watched a movie and a half while there and unfortunately the end result is slightly better than what I would’ve been able to do at home on my own. I appreciate she was wanting to be thorough but you’d expect the job to be perfect after all that time but they look awful

I already don’t love my feet so it’s a shame I’m not confident and they’re not looking great right before my hot trip. Unfortunately I won’t be back which is a shame as I live so close and it’s so convenient but there’s lots of places in the area

Sep 27 2023: It's been about 2 months since I posted my original review and no one from The TEN SPOT has contacted me about my experience.

Appointment was easy to book online. I called to let them know I was running late and the receptionist called me back to confirm. A male tech (don't remember his name) did my pedicure. Old polish removal, nail trim, dead skin removal/buffing and new polish application took about 60mins to complete.

The service that I booked online ("the pedi") is supposed to include: soak, nail shaping + buffing, full cuticle work, buffing + massaging the feet, polish application + complimentary toe wax. I didn't ask for the toe wax but my service was definitely missing the foot massage.

After I completed the service, I heard the technician say to another employee that "I guess I am trained now, " which implies that he is a newer hire. I was not informed nor offered a discount for getting my pedicure service done by a staff member in-training.

Quality of the pedicure was average. The tech spent a lot of time cleaning up the polish to make sure it looked neat.

The store is clean and new. The sinks for the pedicure are stainless steel and are sanitized in between each appointment. I really appreciate the cleanliness.

Would I come back? Maybe. I have had better quality pedicures by another salon on Main/12th in Vancouver for a lower cost ($50 after tip).

I have been a Ten Spot client for a couple of years now. Anna is my knowledgeable professional I can always depend on. Appreciate the spotless salon and caring experts.

Good place for a pedicure! Went here for Mother’s Day with the family and staff is good and professional! We all enjoyed our pedicures. Great service!

I walked in today to simply get a basic mani and before I even sat down the girl at the front asked me for my credit card number. I was confused.
I asked her why and she told me to hold my spot. Hold my spot? So, I asked her if she wanted me to come back later? "No, no. " she said, I can take you now. Now I was even more baffled. I told her I'd be paying with debit and she told me well that's totally different. If you want to book online for next time you come in.it will be easier for you with your CC information registered online. Well, first off.how do you know I'll be back.secondly, can't I just do that myself at home in the comfort of my own space and privacy?

Her approach to getting my credit card info.just felt very out of bounds and forced making me feel very uncomfortable.

I clarified to her: I just want a basic mani, paying debit when it's done. What do you need my credit card number for?
When she realized that I wasn't into the whole. "let's share private information thang" she backed off. To be honest, at that point I was a bit startled, because just about a month ago I had fraudulent theft on my debit card and Vancouver at the moment is under serious ID theft and credit theft.

Once she allowed me to enter past the Welcome matt without grabbing my credit card information, she asked me to pick a colour.
Two things happened while I was trying to find my colour at the wall in the back.

1. I didn't find any colour I liked (very limited colour selection)
2. The red flags just didn't go away. It just felt off.

I left without getting my nails done.

I pick a colour.you paint my nails. I pay debit. We all go home happy.
What do you need my credit card information for?

Poor service; bad job painting nails (specifically pedicure) ; didn’t offer my tea or coffee even though the girl offered it to the rest of the clients.

If I could give ten stars to Laila I would. She gave my daughter a kiddie manicure and was the kindest, sweetest and most patient person. It was such a fun experience and I highly recommend booking in with her. She’s professional and does an excellent job and is just an all around great person.

The spa is clean, i had mani & padi with Laila in yaletown branch, She is sooo pro and kind, seeks for perfection definetly i will come back

Lovely experience. My esthetician Bahni (I hope I got that right) was friendly and did a beautiful job on my nails. Would 100% go back.

McKenzie always does a great job with my pedicure. She’s efficient, kind, detailed and I always enjoy talking with her while she scrubs my ticklish feet!

First time trying out this salon. I thought it was nice and clean. The nail techs however didn’t talk very much, myself and my friend still had some dirt left underneath a couple toes after our pedi, which was not great. Would possibly try again but prefer my usual spot

Very clean and professional environment! Got a regular mani pedi with polish still lasting after a week, where I normally find it to begin chipping within days if not shellac/gel from other salons.

After doing lots of research I decided to go here for my first ever laser hair removal. I had Samantha who was fantastic - so knowledgeable, kind and professional. Made the whole process completely seamless and quick!

I’m so glad I picked this salon to get my holiday nails. It’s in a great location for transit and a cute neighbourhood. The staff is friendly and they were on time, no wait for my appointment. My manicurist, Samantha, was excellent! She helped me pick out colours, took time to discuss what I wanted, and checked in with me at every step to ensure I was satisfied. I will absolutely go again! Very clean and lovely spot to get your nails done.

I'll be honest. I've come to expect a rushed treatment when getting a mani/pedi at nail salons as a male. This salon treated me with respect. Took their time with me and treated me with compassion and care. I know it's just a mani/pedi but I left after my nails looked the best they've ever looked in my whole life and cried. Thank you so much for treating me so well. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent leg & Brazil waxing with Anna.
She is thorough gentle expert with a pleasing personality.
I had a injury by my ankle & she carefully worked around it ensuring everything was ok.
Highly recommend the spotless environment & strong Covid procedures.
Also appreciate all their staff is fully vaccinated unlike a few other places.

Initally service was good. Got gel nails, they chipped off within 3 days and had them redone. They chipped again and when I messaged noone got back to me. Dissapointing as their staff is nice.

Nice people BUT terrible results.got shellac mani on saturday and three nails chipped by sunday (i didn't do any heavy duty work) didn't have time to go back and complain/ask for money back or a re-do.did not leave my nails under the lamp long enough.thumb still sticky when i left.will NOT go back.

Been getting my waxing done with Samantha for a while now and she does an amazing job each time! Very attentive to detail and professional - definitely worth the hassle of Yaletown parking - 10/10!

I have had the absolute best customer/client experience with Sam at the Ten Spot in Yaletown. I initially saw her for Brazilian wax (she's amazing) and we eventually got chatting about the laser hair removal. She explained how it worked and I wanted to give it try to see if I could get rid of my leg hair. I've tried laser before and spent so much money but I trusted Sam when she told me the potential results. I've had two sessions so far on my legs, underarms and bikini and I have virtually no hair left. The laser has a wonderful cooling feature that causes almost no discomfort. Sam really is amazing and I will not go anywhere else again. Thank you Sam and the Ten Spot!

I saw Samantha for the brow lam and tint and lash lift and tint. I am absolutely blown away by the results! I have been told for years that these services were not meant for people with natural blonde/ginger colouring like myself, but Samantha did such an amazing job. It looks like I'm wearing the perfect amount of makeup all the time! I can not recommend this enough, and will be making it part of my regular routine:)

I went in for a gel removal + manicure and was very disappointed! The girl who did my service was pleasant and the salon is definitely hygienic; however, there was still residual gel left on my nails and she did a poor job removing any cuticles or even cleaning underneath the nail bed! My nails have looked better at other salons, from just the removal minus having to pay $50 for a manicure that looked terrible. I will not be back, but rather visit Poised (on Davie St.) who always does a fantastic job (they were fully-booked, so I could not get in). If you look closely at the picture, you can see there is so much texture, uncut cuticle, in addition to left-over gel polish on my nails. My nails have never looked like that, after a service.

This space is beautiful + clean!
The atmosphere is inviting + cheerful. The staff is very courteous.

I've been coming to the Ten Spot in Yaletown for about 4 years now. Having worked in a spa / salon myself for many years I am super picky about cleanliness and quality of services. I am always impressed by the team and the level of service. Highly recommend seeing Sam! My favourite place for gel manis, waxing and recently laser.

I’ve visited the Ten Spot twice now - once for a lash lift/tint, and today for a pedi. I was really impressed by both services! Sarah was my nail tech today and she was so sweet and showed great attention to detail throughout my pedi; my toes look fantastic! The spa itself felt very clean and it was obvious the staff were diligently and professionally adhering to COVID-19 protocol. Overall a great experience, highly recommend!

I have gone here since it opened and love all the women who work here, however, I only recently decided to try their laser hair removal. I've wanted to do laser for years but always put it off because I was worried all the money I spent would be a waste if it didn't work (like somewhere else I've gone). Both the machine and the technician (Samantha) have proved all my fears wrong with incredible results after only 1 session! I will continue with my follow up appointments to ensure the results last but I am so happy. Seriously life changing!

I've had a few of the estheticians and they're all awesome. So friendly, do a great job and it's always super quick. I don't even live in Vancouver anymore, but every time Im in town I time itso I can come here. Love it!

My first time to the yaletown tenspot and I will definitely be back! Banny did an amazing job on my gel mani/pedi. Best mani/pedi I've had! Great atmosphere and they even had mamma mia playing with subtitles so i could watch one of my fave films while having a pedicure. They were super clean and hygienic and took all the precautions for covid. I felt completely safe and at ease. 100% recommend!

My first time here and it was fantastic. They had extremely clear policies and procedures about their cleaning and I felt SO safe. The studio was absolutely sparkling clean and as soon as anyone came in, made a payment, or anything like that, the surface was disinfected immediately. Everyone was so friendly and my pedicure looks amazing - will for sure be back for a manicure next!

Rebecca is amazing! I get my pedis done with her and she always does an excellent job! She is also great to chat with and makes the experience really enjoyable!

Ten Spot were able to get me in for an eyebrow wax as a Walk In customer with no booking. Great service, clean location, friendly beauticians. They offer eyebrow threading but best to phone ahead for that service.

I love this place.everyone that works there is so nice and sam is a waxing MASTER on top of being the greatest human in general.scheduling is super flexible and i love being able to book online.

Sarah is a great laser tech, was very informative and was great with suggesting some products to make the laser process smoother.

First time ever receiving a facial? I definitely recommend The Ten Spot and for an esthetician. Samantha was fantastic. From start to finish during my facial, I felt 100% comfortable and relaxed. Samantha was so informative about the products she was using and talking to me about my skin so I could be informed about how my skin reacts to certain types of products. She chose certain products for my skin that she thought would be best and I really felt like my skin soaked these products up perfectly. I felt extremely relaxed and a first priority there. I was just an overall rejuvenating and positive experience! The appointment was an hour long - not a minute late or a minute over time. We spoke afterwards about the products that she used and I didn’t purchase right away only because Christmas is around the corner and my sister will be gladly purchasing me a new skin care regime lol. But I definitely will be heading back to keep my skin up to par with this facial until I can do my own skin care regime at home. It was amazing! 5 stars for sure so thank you to everyone at Ten Spot and Samantha!:)

Have been several times and have been very happy with all my manicures and pedicures. Staff is friendly and professional. Highly recommend this place. Appointments are usually required as they are busy.

I go for Brazilian and underarms religiously and always go to Sweena! One of the best waxing places in Vancouver. It's a bit higher rate but the service and products make up for it!

Great prices and overall quality services from skilled estheticians. My nail tech went the extra mile to help me get the look I was looking for and I loved how my nails turned out. The waxing room was very comfortable and had Netflix playing which was a welcome distraction. The salon was very clean and the tools used were demonstrably hygienic which was much appreciated. I was also happy to have my gel polish soaked off rather than filed and at no additional cost. The prices, in fact, were very reasonable. Everything was very professional and well done. I prefer to have nail art over a solid colour, which they don't offer at this time, however, I will be back for waxing or if I'm in need of just a simple mani.

Loved it! Had a mani and pedi and a wax. All very professional and clean, clearly then know what they are doing. The place has a great atmosphere and a great selection of high-quality polishes which lasted for weeks. Would definitely recommend.

This was the most expensive and worst pedicure I have ever had! I told the beautician that I did not want my nails cut short and with her first clip she cut my nail so short it bled. She really had no idea what she was doing. I ended up filing my own nail so it would not snag and rip any deeper and removed all the nail polish because I now must let my nail heal. I hope they have not given me an INFECTION!
On another note I had my legs waxed and that beautician did an excellent job, very quick, friendly and efficient.

I don’t go to the spa very often but do enjoy a pedicure occasionally. Nikole did a great job making me feel comfortable. The spa is a beautiful space with a very professional atmosphere.

Had the best wax ever! Luckily I was paired with Alli. She was super fast, really friendly, she made me feel super comfortable. She is hilarious and made the whole experience, we joked the whole time. I would highly reccomend requesting Alli, I will certainly be back time and time again as long as shes there! Thanks lady, seriously the BEST!
