The Tuwanek Hotel and Spa

My dad stayed here last weekend, he showed me around and said this about the Tuwanek Hotel and Spa.
Beautiful relaxing place with a great owner/artist! Check out his work inside and enjoy his culinary skills for breakfast.
He highly recommends staying there.

We had an amazing vacation. Tranquil days in the middle of the beautiful nature. You have plenty of water sport equipment included: SUP, canoe and snorkels etc.
If you are done with that, you can relax in the Yacuzzi or the steam bath or just enjoy the sunset.

Excellent hotel! Our stay was so relaxing and the staff was very welcoming. Be sure to get the breakfast as it was delicious and served right to our room.

A wonderful, serene and relaxing place to stay. The hosts are kind and available if you need anything, but leave you alone to enjoy the peace and quiet. The breakfasts are as amazing as everybody says! Honestly, my breakfasts were better than any restaurant meals I ate in Sechelt. There are so many small touches here with decor and items you might need to enjoy the outdoors like water shoes, life jackets, etc.that I could not begin to mention them all. I had two wonderful spa treatments as well. The Sunset room is a pretty cool place to stay because you get exclusive use of the games room, which includes a mini kitchen with coffee/tea maker and microwave (popcorn!), and lots of other food/ kitchen implements. It also includes use of the super cool media room with recliners, cozy blankets, a giant TV and mood lighting. That was lots of fun!

Stayed for 2 nights and looking forward to visiting again longer next time.

The owner, Adrian, was very friendly, relaxed, welcoming and accommodating. He gave us great suggestions for local restaurants and activities nearby. He is extremely thoughtful at making sure your stay is comfortable and relaxing which is duly noted in all the little details. When we checked in, he asked if we had any allergies/dietary restrictions and what time we’d like breakfast served, he was happy to accommodate my dietary restrictions which was very much appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and well presented.

The location is absolutely beautiful. It’s right on the water with access to kayaks and canoes (with life jackets). It’s very peaceful and quiet with different areas to relax and enjoy the view.

We really enjoyed our time here and are truly grateful for having the opportunity to stay at the Tuwanek Hotel and Spa. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Beautiful views, super cozy bed, loved the slipper tub and the covered deck, breakfast was AMAZING - having the spa right on the water was great. Yoga 1 on 1 and a massage rounded out my stay. Loved it! 10/10!

This is the best bed and breakfast we've ever been to and had the pleasure of experiencing it. My wife and I fell in love with this hidden gem and can't wait to go back already.

From the moment we arrived, our host Adrian went above and beyond showing us around the property and making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Not only do the rooms have themes but the attention to detail is top notch. Everything was thought through from the lighting to the snacks for movies to the perfect patio table for breakfast every morning.

The home made breakfast was the icing on the cake. Amazing presentation, tasty food, with a spectacular view. It completed the whole bed and breakfast experience.

Even though the weather was not super cooperative the stay was peaceful, quiet, and the service was superb. The breakfast included was delicious and the presentation was amazing! We enjoyed the use of their kayaks, and had a spa treatment. Would highly recommend this business to anyone!

The Tuwanek hotel is an oasis amidst the grind of life. It was there for us to sink into while surrounded with the sounds of the ocean, birds and the odd seal that would pop up to say hello. Stress dissappears, calm takes hold and the world peeled back it's blinders into something complety new.

Amazing view, great hospitality, beautiful room and delicious breakfast every morning! Private and quiet beach for kayaking and SUP. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for some uninterrupted, calming, peaceful time alone or with your half - this is the place for you. Donna and Adrian do everything to make you comfortable but at the same time will let you be by yourself and enjoy beautiful nature of this lovely spot.
Facilities are clean and well-maintained. Having outdoor hot tub is not so uncommon but having a nice steaming room that warms up in literally five minutes is awesome!
Rooms have nice light and fireplace, beautiful view and spacious bathroom with a bathtub and big shower.
The area is very quiet and views are stunning. Even after two-three days staying there you will definitely feel revitalized and well-rested.

Absolutely hands down the BEST place we have ever stayed! The entire place was amazing and Donna and Adrian are wonderful people who make you feel right at home. There isnt a better place to stay ANYWHERE!

This little hotel exceeded our expectations. It has great amenities (we really enjoyed use of small watercraft), very thoughtful and comfortable spaces both in the suites and throughout the property, and kind owners. This hotel is a great alternative to a big hotel and you're far more likely to experience a tranquil visit to a stunningly beautiful area of the Sunshine Coast.

Long story summarized:
- I purchased a Social Shopper voucher for our anniversary for the weekend of January 16-19,2015
- I received a $50 credit to apply towards At the Water's Edge Day Spa services with my purchase
- When I showed up for my massage booking, they looked at me like I was in the wrong place. I showed them my confirmation and gave them all of my information and she said that the spa was actually closed that day because someone thought that there were no bookings - so they took the day off. My reservation was not recorded and they didn’t have anyone to do the service for me. They even called around and no one wanted to come in, so I was then given a second gift card for a complimentary massage as compensation.
- It was the receptionist that I was dealing with and I was told that showing the gift card with "complimentary massage" and her signature would be enough. We argued about it, because I said I am already having a bad experience and to give this to me and make me come back based on another promise will just set me up for disappointment once again. And here we are.
- I contacted the location to check the validity of my gift cards so that I could plan a trip this summer to utilize them. I spoke to Donna via e-mail and she had no solutions for me, was quite quick to brush me off, and hardly apologized. She did however offer me. "I WILL BE GLAD TO GIVE YOU 10% OFF OF YOUR STAY OR SPA TREATMENTS FOR THE REST OF THIS YEAR. " So in order to even get $50 worth (my initial gift card value) I would have to spend $500 on services to take advantage of her 10% offer which is only valid for this year.
- I wrote a fairly big e-mail back outlaying the situation again and my disappointment and she simply replied to me with "Thanks Paige for getting back to me. Donna"
- I told her that I would just have to accept it as a loss and unfortunately write a bad review as I have had nothing but terrible service and disappointment at this establishment.

If you are wanting a romantic, relaxing, customer service orientated spa. DO NOT GO HERE!
