Athena Crepe: seriously very very soggy. Undercooked crepe, overcooked vegs.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich: cheese was grilled in the pan 1st and then the cheese sandwich placed on that grilled cheese and the microwaved. Seriously soggy grilled cheese sandwich. The cooking staff today missed on all points.

Terrible, extremely slow service every time. Waitress laughed about being too busy to serve people water. Foods ok, very cold today because they’re understaffed and over full. If you don’t mind waiting forever. Getting no water. And getting a flash show of a bare bum every time the sever bends over. Didn’t know I was a strip club.

If you’re understaffed and unable to tend to as many tables as you have. Maybe fewer tables at a time in the future. So people can have water with their meal….

Located in a bookstore, this cafe has delicious breakfast and brunch offerings, including great coffee. Note that when the weather's nice, there's also outdoor patio seating. The spätzle dishes were flavorful and filling, and the drip coffee was flavorful, fresh, and balanced (refills are available). Staff are friendly and attentive. Definitely one of the better establishments in Nelson.

An all day breakfast cafe, with a used bookstore attached. Excellent breakfast, eggs, bacon, oven roast potatoes, and house made blackberry jam for the toast. Friendly server and staff. Good coffee with refills. Definitely worth the visit.

Another fabulous place to stop for breakfast while in the city. They have a cool bookstore built right into the place.

Very good breakfast. Local hot spot. Home like feel. Fair pricing compared to what you get usually in Central nelson. I appreciate how the share alternative opinion papers like Druthers and have a good community bulletin board. Good vibes overall.

Very friendly girls working there. Delicious food too and reasonably priced. My go too for breakfast in Nelson.

The place is super cute. They were not very busy when we arrived, we waited for almost 20 mins to have our order taken and then another hour for our food. Then half of our food was cold. Our waitresses was nice, but had absolutely no hustle. It felt terrible having my kids wait so long for cold food. We had to ask to have multiple plates warmed up which also took a very long time. Asked for bbq sauce that never came. We spent about two hours here. It was disappointing to waste the time.

The Vienna Cafe is my favourite lunch spot in Nelson. I can count on good food and good service on a regular basis.

Excellent food in a fun atmosphere! Try the vegan waffles with the avocado, it's a surprisingly tasty pairing, and the veggie sandwich was good too.

It was our first day in Nelson after moving from five hours away. We had a busy morning and wanted a nice brunch, and the Vienna cafe caught our attention on maps. We walked in and were delighted to see everyone laughing and eating and having a good time. Our sandwiches were delicious and the server felt like a friend. We'll be going back for sure, for our first cafe experience in Nelson, it set the bar high.

This is the first time, writing a negative review. Until last year I would have happily told you about Americanos and the awesomeness of their eggs benny. However, during Burger Month of 2021, my sister got severe food poisoning. She had asked for her burger to be well done and it was not. Her request was met quite scornfully by the male cook? Owner? She got her burger to go as she had an appointment. The new burger was even more rare. She was quite sick and could not tolerate foods that she had quite previously enjoyed. I rarely say anything negative but this was and still is a problem.
