The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver

Some feedback/constructive criticism - My wife and I stayed this weekend (13th - 14th Jan), we were attracted to the Westin as they advertise barrel style saunas, outside, near the pool. I have to say the sauna experience was sub par. Maybe it was due to the colder temps outside, but the saunas were warm at best, nothing like a typical sauna where you're sweating within 5 mins.

We were able to sit inside for 30 mins before getting bored and mildly warm. Disappointing to say the least.

Everything else was great, no complaints.

I did a 3 day stay in room 210. There are so many incredible amenities that I didn’t have enough time to experience them all. I loved the Peloton room so much, I might buy a membership when back home!
However, there were a couple of set backs during the stay. Extremely rowdy children playing in the halls…screaming and throwing balls at doors etc.resulted in a lot of explaining on my business calls. This went on for over an hour - I eventually called security to deal with this. I cannot risk hosting calls again while in this hotel.
Due to the extreme cold weather there was a constant steam of cold air from the balcony door which resulted in always having the blackout blinds pulled. The cold also resulted in broken pipes and the entire lobby was scattered with catch buckets.
Nonetheless, great location to walk to Stanley Park, cafes and restaurants. Uber eats and drivers show up in mins and it’s about a 15min walk to the Skytrain.

Very good location! Easy access to Coal Harbour, Robson Street with lots of restaurants. We can enjoy the mountains and the sea from our room. The big pool was very nice. The only downside was that we asked to refill the body wash, but no one came to our room. Thankfully, we bring our own.

Wonderful stay at the Bayshore. Very busy, not able to get seating at the pool and restaurant service slow due to the number of guests, but a lovely atmosphere and enjoyable visit nonetheless. Rooms are lovely, beds very comfortable, location incredible!

Probably one of nicest hotels I’ve been to. The location, rooms, and service are absolutely perfect! It’s a pretty short walk down to the harbour and the rooms are top notch with comfy beds. The luggage service person was very friendly and helpful. It’s a little expensive but luckily I was able to stay in here for a discounted Bonvoy rate.

This is THE place to stay in Vancouver during the summer months (especially if you have kids!) the outdoor pool is the best in the city. Top notch! Stunning location - very close to great food in walking distance. We also walked to the aquarium with our 8 yr old. Staff are incredibly friendly (special shout-out to Tyler who served us at the pool all week. You are so fun and kind!) Loved all the fitness options (free bike rentals, yoga, peloton, running etc). Rooms are clean, albeit wish there was options for two queen beds instead of two double. Will absolutely be coming back!

Truly could not have asked for a better location. You are so close to Stanley park and a short walk to many shops and restaurants. The bike rentals were so appreciated, and we made great use of them. Hotel room was spacious and clean.

Not the best Westin Hotel I stayed in. Their Starbucks doesn't hold any dairy alternative options even though they charged us for it. Room service did forget about our requested service, but to make up for it they gave us a free bottle of wine! The tellphones are out of date, but other than that the room itself was fine ️ Beautiful views, and easy access to the city.

Awesome water front hotel! Very clean, peaceful, and comfortable! Contemporary style and luxury decoration especially those for the upcoming Christmas and holiday season! Great service and not to mention its excellent location to all what you wanted and needed for! Highly recommended although it might be a challenging to book it! But after all, it would be worthwhile and lots of remarkable memories!

My friend politely informed them about their defective nail polish. She wasn't asking for anything but the woman name Allison immediately verbally attacked her. Very unprofessional. 1 star is too much for you guys. I wish I could I just give you a thumbs down

Very good location. Got lucky to get ocean view room. Could see mountains and even sunrise from the room. But had to fight a little bit to change our room for this to be honest. Tried walk and e-scooter along the sea wall which was fun. Restaurants are good. Eating places and market is closely on Robinson Street. Enjoyed a lot.

Nice hotel awsome view of the water and city could have used a better cleaning of the room as when we opened the blinds there was a lot of dust that was on the blinds aswell as some of the furniture and the patio drain trench was full of junk and made the walk out patio wet.room service foid was great. Would go back all and all a positive experience.

Stayed for 2 nights, room service was very prompt and lots of choice on the dinner menu. Rooms are clean and hotel staff are very friendly. Found the bed a little to high to climb into but overall good visit.

We originally planned on a 3 night stay, but the recent flooding made it impossible to get home. The hotel staff have been great to accommodate our new itinerary. ALL of the staff we have encountered have been extremely friendly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. We brought our small dog with us, and the staff made us (and her) feel very welcome. They even brought up a dog bed for her ️. The grounds around the hotel and the coal harbour area are amazing, clean, well lit, and feel safe at night.highly recommend.

Hosted a corporate event there and loved how friendly/ caring the staff were. Wifi, projector and other amenities were spot on.

I am staying at the Bayshore tonight snd was so disappointed with check in. My room is the size of a shoebox overlooking the parking lot and I had to wait two hours to check in as the guy who checked me in needed a credit card even though it’s prepaid and I had just a debit card on me after spending the afternoon at Vida Spa. It was embarrassing and I literally had to wait in the lobby until my husband showed up with the kids, even though our room was ready and he could have easily shown his card when he showed up. I remember the Bayshore with better service but there isn’t even a room or a in room dining menu in this shoebox. Should have stayed at Sutton or Hotel Van, I guess.

Beautiful room, king size bed, beautiful shower with "rain style" shower head. Outstanding view of the coal harbour. Amenteties.gym, two pools and boogie restaurant.

This is a great hotel, lounge, restaurant with patio, swimming pool, etc, located in one of the best areas of downtown by the water and a marine. Boats, sea, a park, and the downtown core.

Overwhelmed check in staff, room was an hour later than the stated time, and there were party girls in the room next door, squealing at 2 am. I won't go back since there are many other hotels nearby

The Bayshore doesn't disappoint with quality of food and service, location, views, and free bicycles to use.

It needs to be said that the decor, layout and finishes in the hallways, guest rooms, balconies, and bathrooms are not on par with other Westin properties. As is the size of the pool area. This is understandable, given the age and the upcoming redevelopmentof the property. It only slightly impacted the enjoyment of our stay.

The views are great and the location is central to everything in downtown. The rooms are well maintained and the heated outdoor pool was amazing! The staff was helpful, however room service was a bit slow. Loved the complimentary bike rental! Highly recommend!

We stayed at the Westin Bayshore for our family vacation. We upgraded to a marina view. Being Marriott members I was able to use the app and check in and receive notification that the room was ready to go. Parking was expensive. We were charged $41.00 each night. I had registered our rental car and was disappointed to find a parking ticket on it one morning. I went to the front desk to fix and they indicated they would take care of it. They stated perhaps the licence was noted incorrectly. We did double check the plate at check in (I took a picture of the plate) so I found that interesting they had it registered incorrectly. The next day, we found another parking ticket on it so that was not pleasant the second time. Again, they said they would sort it out. After that, we were done with the the rental call so I'm unsure it was truly sorted out. The location of the Westin Bayshore is terrific. We are able to walk or Taxi to a lot of locations such as Yaletown, Gas Town, Canada Place, Robson and Stanley Park. I downloaded the local taxi app and found a lot of price estimates were much cheaper than Uber. There were a lot less homeless in this area than I expected. It was very clean and you felt safe. The beds were only doubles so that was small. I did find the bed extra soft. It was nice to have a lounger chair in there as well. The bathroom and storage were good. As a typical hotel, you can hear a lot of the other guests coming and going. I was very disappointed we didn't have a balcony. I assumed by the pictures there were decks for our marina view but it is only a Juliet balcony. The seagulls are very noisy so expect a 06: 30 wake up call. The restaurant was nice for breakfast. Getting a space at the outside pool of course is a challenge. We were there a week and only were able to use this outdoor pool once around supper time. If there is no chair available, there is not a lot of extra space that you can sit at. We didn't use the indoor pool. Due to Covid, you had to ask to have your room cleaned before noon. I had requested a clean one day and returned from being gone all day and it was not done. I asked at the front desk to clean the next day again indicating my previous request was not done and it was completed that day. Asking for towels to be brought up was reasonably quick. The coffee shop on location was great for an expresso and latte. Despite some small disappointments, I would stay there again. I might rethink paying more money for the marina view with the lack of the deck. Although, that being said if was nice to open the curtains and see the action on the street and the lovely view. Be prepared for your morning greet from the birds. Nobody has Westin beat on this location.

Some of the best service I've gotten from a hotel in a while, will be my preferred hotel when I'm in town again

Had issues with Parking but Jose and the team at Westin made my stay better. They helped me when I needed it after my car was broken into. They took care of a lot of the issues after and gave me credits and free parking.

Thanks Jose and the team at Westin, it wasn’t your fault but you did great. I’ll be staying there again.

Staycation success! The family's camping trip hit a snag and we needed a place fast. The Westin had room for the weekend and an outdoor pool - what's not to like? Well, this is hands down the best hotel I've ever stayed at. Great service from top to bottom. Amazing value. Love it!

So clean and beautiful. Can't beat the views and location. Huge pool, pool bar. And so pet friendly. No extra charge for pets, you don't get sectioned to a gross "pet room" and you are provided a heavenly pet bed, poop bags, and water/food dishes.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Westin! Waking up to the views of the waters is so beautiful. The staff were so kind, friendly, and helpful! Definitely would recommend this hotel and will be returning back in the future thank you so much!

Presently day 1 of a 10 day stay (July 2 to 11). So far not impressed by what Westin is offering in Vancouver (I've stayed at Westin Montreal and Ottawa and loved it).

First issue before I even arrived was that they have a pool booking policy where you have to log in no earlier than 4pm to get the outdoor pool lounger - but I was going to be mid-flight at 4pm. Service desk was rude and not understanding - had to speak to a manager who was thankfully able to make it work.

Nobody was at the desk when I arrived to check in at 9: 30pm and had to wait forever. This despite me indicating my check in time on the mobile app. When I asked about the H Tasting Lounge in-house restaurant the front desk staff was unable to tell me if it was any good, how late it is open, or what the dress code is, if any. Finally got my room. It was nice to be high up on the 9th floor but there is just constant loud noise from the birds (? Seagulls?) - stayed awake all night.

Pool is beautiful. People who let me in were professional and I had no issue getting to my reserved spot. Problem is the service from the bar - the male bartender was rude and didn't acknowledge when I asked for an order. Literally pretended I didn't exist.

Lastly, they are one of few hotels with an archaic no delivery from outside option. I've noticed many hotels including Westin Ottawa allowed the deliveryman to come up. My dinner plans got cancelled on a Saturday night and I had to order in. They wouldn't let the guy come up and didn't notify me that the item had arrived. Maybe I wouldn't have ordered out if the people at the desk knew anything about their restaurant or menu.

Will update/modify if things get better here.

Amazing location, in my opinion the best Westin’s in town. Amazing view, staff was extremely nice and thoughtful. The breakfast was delicious.

Very nice, right downtown west end. Close to shopping, restaurants, the seaside walkway is right outside ur door. U can get a bike free from the hotel n go for a ride, awesome. Scooters can be rented on site from another vender and best part, ur four legged family members are allowed, lots of them so bring ur fur babies. Off leash park 5 min walk, n they can swim too! My view of the ocean front is awesome. We watched the sun set tonite, beautiful. Family friendly hotel, kids will love the pools, indoor n outdoor. Would definately come back here. TY for the wonderful stay.

Rooms were not very clean at check in. No baggage service unlike other hotels in Vancouver.
Rooms service was not completed on 2nd day despite requesting it when we checked in. When we asked for it they said "our room service is gone for the day" at 7pm.
The only positive is the big pool, decent drinks and location. Lower you expectations to a 3 star hotel. Nowhere close to 4.5

This is like a little resort in the city. It’s an old and storied hotel, and perhaps a wee bit tired, though the Westin look gives it a relaxed vibe. Nice outdoor pool in season, plus an indoor pool and hot tub. Used to have a good happy hour in the Seawall Bar & Grill but that’s all gone now.

Often stay here and most of the renovations have been completed. Miss the Starbucks restaurant they used to have and you now have to go into H2 (their restaurant) to get a $5 coffee. The hotel itself is typical of Weston’s - contemporary to modern with staff that are always happy to help you out.

We had a fabulous stay at the Bayshore during our Christmas visit to Vancouver. This hotel has a great view, in a great part of the downtown. It feels quite and relaxed, but still close to the bustle of Downtown shopping district.

Front Desk Reception very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean. View is stunning. Found all staff to be very friendly and courteous. Food was good in H2. Even cleaning and maintenance staff say hello. Valet out front is also very friendly. Overall very impressed.

Inside the room was fine. The view of the adjoining building and alley was lacking. The hotel is gorgeous. Staff was wonderful and accommodating. Bar restaurant was cozy and upscale. Good selection of wines and appetizers to share.

The age of the rooms shows only a little. Rooms are renovated well and the front staff very friendly and helpful. Would have liked more breakfast options at their cafe.

We attended an event Dec 14 at Westin Bayshore. We Vallet parked our vehicle over night in their lot. We picked the car up with damage we know for a fact was done while being in the hands of the Vallet. I spoke with the front desk manager, Alessandra. She was very rude, unhelpful and didn’t seem to care at all that our vehicle had been damaged on the hotels property. She had a really oh well not our fault, can’t help you and don’t care attitude & rudely directed us to handle the matter with WestPark. Worst experience ever. We have been getting the run around for two weeks and still no resolution with WestPark so I called back in and spoke with her again inquiring about video surveillance. To my surprise she was no help and I had the same horrible experience with her, leaving the conversation more upset then when I called in. I would definitely not have such a rude and careless individual labelled as a manager in the hospitality industry, especially not the front desk. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone after my interaction with her and I would also highly suggest to make sure they do a before and after damage check with you like they are supposed to at the Vallet. I will file a formal complaint to the general manager Martin Leclerc as well. Though we didn’t rent a room there the night our car was Vallet’d we did attend a large function in the hotel with several co-workers who did. Previous to this incident our family members from out of town and ourselves have rented rooms at Westin Bayshore and are loyal to Marriot when we travel. We are soon to be married and have several family members coming into town. We have already suggested any hotel that is not related to Westin Bayshore- Marriot. We will no longer provide this hotel our business or recommendations anymore! I would hate for someone to have a repeat of my personal experience. Good experiences & service are very important to me! I take recommendations from personal experiences all the time and feel strongly about letting others know of not only good but bad experiences. With that being said- If you are looking for a nice hotel downtown with excellent service, beautiful views and friendly staff, I suggest Pacific Rim (little pricier) or Pan Pacific. Cheers!

Had our office Christmas party and this place is very cool with amazing location and harbour view.
Parking is expensive and hotel is 10 minutes walk from nearest skytrain station Burrard with a nice walk.
Food choices are really good.
Looking forward to visit the place again.

After 10 hour drive from Calgary me, my partner and dog all arrived here with our room fully booked and paid for. We did not have a credit card on us and would have paid a simple room deposit any other way but they did not let us and we had to go somewhere else for the night and get refunded for the room, Clearly had no problem paying but had to be with a credit card this big “fancy” hotel is very specific anyway so everyone better be up to there standards if they stay there, Better off booking the fairmont or something terrible service in this place.

My work had our Christmas party here. We stayed over night for two nights. The hotel is beautiful. The staff are very helpful. I liked our room! I did not want to go back home. The bathroom was beautiful. We had a view of the city/Canada place and it was gorgeous!

my only complaint is the price of the food at the hotel and parking. Parking is $40 a night even though you are staying at the hotel.

Beautiful hotel by the water near the world renowned Stanley park. I was here to attend a professional trade show during the day. It is a 15 minute walk from waterfront skytrain station, on a good day you can walk along the seawall with breathtaking views. The food catering was great. I can't comment on the rooms but the lobby seems a bit dated compared to other comparable hotels in the area, nevertheless everything looked clean and neat. For anyone who wants to be close to Stanley park and the famous Robson street I'd recommend this hotel

Very nice hotel with stunning views of the water and sea planes landing. Staff was very nice and was happy to help with any of your needs. Would definitely stay again!

Attended a reception for a conference in the Stanley ballroom. The space was nice, and the appetizers that were served were very tasty, but the drinks were ludicrously expensive. $10.50 for a domestic beer is unacceptable

I was visiting some friends at their hotel room for the evening before continuing on with other errands. The rooms and facilities were adequate for a 4 star hotel and the decor was beautiful, but there wasn't much to do aside from staying in the hot tub. Otherwise, my experience was very pleasant.

It's worth spending a night here just for the views, so ask for a room looking at the ocean and on a higher floor. The room I got was very noisy and after a couple of nights without much sleep, I'm glad to check-out and would look for another hotel on my next visit to Vancouver.

Cruise was just going around in circles. Rice was cold, chicken overcooked and fish was dried. I had 2 dinner rolls, coffee and called it George. Considering it's so costly! Could have had tummies and would have enjoyed it.

This is one of the best hotels in downtown Vancouver. It has it all, great views, clean rooms, good restaurant for food and drinks, you get an umbrella in your room because its Raincouver after all. Also I like that they offer bikes for you to get around, parking is very expensive in this part of the city. I don't love the $40 per day parking, I think is expensive plus you need to walk across the street to park. I wish they could decrease the cost. Overall is a great place to stay, oh they have a great outdoor pool that is warm! Such a treat!

The bar/lounge is quite lovely. I find my experience differs from bartender to bartender. The table snacks are great! Cocktails quality varies by bartender. Atmosphere is usually very relaxing and generally quiet.
