I met Marium for the furst time, Wanted her to colur my root and high light my hair. She is absolutely amazing. I found her so responsible trying to do the best for my hair considering my hair condition. Honestly my hair become very dry and frizzy after bleaching, but this time it is totally soft and healthy with no damages at all. I am so happy with her majic job, the pictures show before and after. Also Special thanks to her friendly colleagues for making such a great experience for me and welcomed me with tasty tea.

Did a colour correction with Marium and my hair looks and feels incredible! She’s so kind and understanding. I felt very very safe in her chair. Only letting her touch my hair from now on <333 The reception team was also lovely!

Marium is so talented! She can look at my hair and has amazing vision for a look. She always makes me feel and look good after a cut and colour.

My normal stylist is out of the country for several months and I needed a cut desperately. I have a lot of anxiety around getting my hair cut as I’ve had multiple stylists in the past not listen, resulting in months of growing it back to get it where I want it to be. Unfortunately that’s the position I’m in here again.

I booked in with Maryum the week after Easter for a haircut. Due to medication I was on I had experienced some hair loss and although my hairs growing back in it’s left the ends scraggly and the top fuller. We went over what I wanted for a cut, basically that I wanted a lob with a blunt cut, minimal layers. We started the cut and of course begun chatting. She immediately asked what medication caused my hair loss and I explained it was an antidepressant; she asked more questions and i began to get anxious but explained I’d had a hard couple years personally and started anti depressants when I got to a real low. She made a comment - extremely triggering - that I won’t repeat here that left me wanting to leave the chair immediately. If someone in management would like to reach out I’d be happy to repeat it but genuinely no customer should be subjected to a comment like this in the future.

We talked about hair colour and she came up with a plan for my hair and urged me to book in for that week. I made conversation about it but genuinely felt pushy. As she finished my cut I asked her if she thought it could use more layers and she said I should try it out and if I wanted more to come back. Within 10 min of leaving I messaged her on instagram (per her instructions on booking in if I wanted more layers) expressing that I wanted some layers- since this cut had absolutely no layers at all. She replied that I could book in for a balayage and that she would do my layers then - despite her already telling me there was a month guarantee in my cut if I weren’t happy with it.

I went to Alberta the next day for a family trip and my best friend who is a salon owner there immediately commented on how my hair had zero dimension and needed layers. She booked me in on her day off to try and fix the cut and once she started noticed that the back had been undercut up like a bob and then seemingly abandoned - it made my hair look thinner and unmanageable. In the end she had to cut significantly more of my hair back to even out the cut and also expressed that due to his dry and fragile my hair is right now that she would absolutely not recommend a balayage.

The whole experience felt disingenuous and like a forced rapport was built solely to rebuild a customer base and take my money. Now I’m out $200 for a simple haircut that isn’t even what I wanted. Would not recommend

A year ago, I chose to book my first appointment based on the very positive reviews The Dye Lot Hair Salon already got and it was one of the best decisions I took!

From Day One, my appointments were with Delphine M.who is authentically fantastic. On top of providing high-quality professional services and being amazing to chat with, she always has a nice word for her colleagues and her colleagues' clients.

I had hair cuts, partial and full-head highlights done and more recently have asked to get back to "Strawberry Blonde" which I'm super happy with.

Overall, the whole team has always been super-friendly, there's a good atmosphere, the pricing is fair and it's a great salon to spend time in. If you go there, check out the bathroom, it's filled with self-love affirmations and look like the best Pinterest feed ever!

I've had my hair coloured here a few times, great experience. Highly Recommend Sarah Ainsworth to for hair colouring! My first appt she fixed my hair dye disaster from a previous salon and since then my hair has turned out exactly as I wanted.

From the moment I was introduced to Mimi (Marium) to 3 hours later;
I was treated with respect, regard, intuition and connection. MIimi saw me, heard me, and gave my hair more than what I expected.super colour, amazing execution. She was happy and engaged. Interesting and very well spoken. I came in for my hair. I left with a great, really great colour and cut. But what I also left with was a really great 3 hour conversation with an excellent human. They were honest about how much hair should be cut for it to be healthy but also understanding of that big chop anxiety so many of us growing our hair out have. Annie is the one who worked with me and she was so sweet and helpful! Helped me pick the perfect brunette shade that would be easy to lighten up if I wanted to in a few months. I love the cut and color! It’s exactly what I was hoping for and my hair feels amazing.

She also gave me so many helpful styling and product tips that I could have never figured out on my own. I’m looking forward to making this my regular salon!

Maryum is simply the best. We started with a hair colour consultation. I wasn’t clear on what I wanted and I walked out of this first appointment with not only clarity, but also excitement.

The day of my appointment, she made me feel so comfortable and safe. From all her years of experience, she definitely knows what she is doing and still takes the time to explain every steps. Also, not only she is a master, but she is still passionate about her art and it shows.

To top it up, Maryum is so fun to be with. From life lessons stories to good laughter, time went by so quick.

So I have crippling anxiety and haven't let anyone touch my hair in 12 years.
First of all, the team is amazing. Riley at the front desk was extremely helpful with booking my appointment and addressing my concerns.
I was lucky enough to be booked with Jude but honestly all of the stylists seem wonderful (and gorgeous!). I was lucky and got to go in at opening and it was awesome seeing how well the entire team worked together and were super friendly and professional but also willing to make jokes, etc.
The layout of the salon in stellar. I love all the plants. Super clean and organized.
Finally, Jude's assistant (I believe her name was Sarah, shame on me for forgetting) was also wonderful. She was clearly very attentive to Jude's work well still making sure I was handled well.

Highly recommend this place. I'm going back to have my hair bleached and coloured in a couple weeks and I cannot wait. My hair was hennad and Jude did an awesome spot test on my already cut hair to see the results. I'm already getting tons of compliments on my new haircut. Jude also gave me a lot of recommendations for hair care which I so appreciate because I don't know what I'm doing.

Took the time to go to the salon for a consultation and strand test and was never contacted back with any feedback. Super unprofessional, even if that stylist didn’t want to work with me she should have at least contacted me back or offered alternative solutions or another stylist that might.

Had an amazing cut and highlights today with Anna (Parsa)! She understood exactly what I was looking for and I’ve never been happier with my colour! I will definitely be back:)

I have been with my stylist Jude since I moved to Vancouver 4 yrs ago. She is truly an artist with a very elevated understanding of hair colour and cutting techniques. Went to see Marium for the first time at the dye lot and she did such a good job with lowlights on my blonde hair that needed a fix. I am impressed with how into detail she goes with hair. I 100% reccomend her, she knows what she’s doing!

I booked an appointment online with a new (to me) hair stylist - when I showed up it turns out she went home sick however I had the happiest surprise meeting Marium who did the most beautiful job on my hair!
I was going from way grown out blonde back to my natural brunette. Marium took a few extra minutes going over what I wanted and providing some of her own recommendations and suggestions. What she gave me was a beautiful, rich, dimensional brown that incorporated just the right amount of the old blonde. Impossible to do it justice with words but trust me when I say Marium is an artist and a true professional at her craft.
The cut and style were beautiful as well. She made sure I loved the end product and was ready to adjust the colour to make sure it was perfect for me.
Hands down the best salon experience I’ve had. I’m feeling like a million dollars with my new hair and can’t recommend Marium & the dye lot enough!

I needed a complete makeover of my hair which had a few different shades of faded hair color. I was lucky to be connected to Miriam who then worked some magic with my hair. I saw Delphine for a haircut and she was amazing. She really spent the time to understand exactly what I was going for even going so far as to get know me and my own personal vibe. Her attention to detail was incredible, fine tuning each layer to give me the exact cut I was going for. I left feeling incredible and listened to and will return to Delphine for all my hair needs in the future!

My experience with Rachel was so great. I asked for a blonde balayage but had very dark hair to begin with, however in one session she did such an amazing job and I got exactly what I was hoping for. Couldn’t have asked for a better service!

Caitlin and others at the Dye Lot have also cut my children's hair and have been fantastic; understanding kids' and teens' needs and wants. I've been going to The Dye Lot for years - I love the beautiful atmosphere, good music and friendly staff. Caitlin is amazing with colour, I get frequent compliments on my hair colour and style everywhere I go! The team is also really great with children, my son won't go anywhere else!

My daughter needed a rush job on a colour correction for a Balayage that went all wrong at another salon because she had grad photos in 2 days. Claudia fixed it beautifully, we could not be happier. Highly recommend!

My daughter had a haircut at The Dye Lot and had a great experience. For myself, I requested an appointment with a senior stylist that specialized in brunettes. I need a root touch-up on my medium brown hair and I had an appointment with Claudia. The result was the top 2/3 of my hair almost black, and my ends dark brown. I emailed the salon and they booked me another appointment with Claudia to fix it. Using a gentle colour remover my hair went from black to dark brown. I was very unhappy with the experience as my request was simply to get my roots done and the colour pulled through to the ends to "refresh" the colour as it had faded. Instead I have a whole new hair colour which is way too dark for me. I will now be having to spend a good amount of money on a colour correction at a different salon.

I got my hair highlighted and cut yesterday and I love it! And, from the comments so does everybody else. Thanks Christina for a great job!

I had a need for an emergency cut as my regular salon was busy and I was lazy at booking an appointment. The dye lot took me in asap and gave me a great cut at half the cost of what I pay my usual place. Seriously. I was paying over 100 for a cut downtown. Note the ‘was’. Think I would rather spend the leftover money on my bike. Great place awesome service. Thanks!

I have done my hair coloring with Sergio for the past 3 years here. All I need is to show him a photo of my fave hair style or color then he does his magic. He truly is a master colorist.
