Thierry Mount Pleasant

Thierry was an overall elegant experience! Between the service being amazing and the food tasting great, I would definitely recommend this cafe to friends. We got the earl grey blackberry chocolate cake which was rich and airy at the same time. The hot chocolate was tasty and creamy, as it was made with milk instead of water. I will definitely be coming back to try the other desserts.

My baileys coffee wasn’t made with baileys it was a bomb of strong liquor. Other than that desserts where great.

One of my clients needed seasonal gifts for its clients this weekend. Daniella at Thierry in East Vancouver did an excellent job of helping us and delivered 44 boxes of delicious chocolates promptly. I highly recommend Thierry.

A true, upscale French patisserie & chocolatier. Classic cakes such as L'Opera and Tiramisu, classic pastries such as Mille Feuille, Citron Tart, and Eclairs. Fewer casual items like Croissants or Chaussons aux Pommes. Beautifully made and impeccably presented. They serve espresso as well.

Beware: Thierry's Chocolate Marquise is dangerously delicious! Paired with a masterfully written Japanese birthday message, it was an explosion of flavor and fun! Thanks, Thierry, for rocking my taste buds and making my birthday a "sweet" disaster!

This is an excellent cafe with beautiful aesthetics, pastries and delicious drinks. I came here for a quick bite and it was full of patrons but there were still a lot of seats. The staff was super friendly and very efficient. I ordered a croissant au jambon and a pistachio latte. The croissant was buttery, flakey and just flat out delicious. The latte had a very pronounced pistachio flavour which I loved and I'm not usually a coffee/espresso drinker. Overall, I thought it was great. Definitely a nice place to get some work done, have a friendly chat with friends or even just some time for yourself.

Had their special hot chocolate during the hot chocolate festival and it was so tasty with a rich flavor. Pastries were delicious too, especially the tiramisu. It's on the expensive side but really worth it.

Overall is good.

But for the pistachio chocolate Choux, I was expecting pistachio pastry cream for the filling, not almond. Almond flavour is quite way too strong and taste like chemical. I can’t taste any pistachio flavour. But the chocolate choux and whipped dark chocolate ganache are taste good.

I waited all year for the beignets and they were only there for less than a month and they got sold out so fast everyday. It was so hard to get some and they are so good. Please bring back the beignets. They were the best item on the menu. Very disappointed they are gone.

Diabetes here I come! Full send. These deserts are absolutely Devine. Hands down the best desert I've ever had! You must! Try this place. It's worth it!

UPDATE:
I have been going to Thierry's for years. I love the Mount Pleasant location, lots of seats, no long line-ups, though they have a system in place to avoid this. The croissants are baked like they are in Europe, crispy, flaky and not filled with nonsense. The coffee is never burnt by overly hot water and it's smooth. The cakes look delicious and they are. I drive upto an hour to get here and it's worth it but it's a treat. It's lovely watching the cyclists go by or people walking their pets. Thierry has nailed it I just wished it was closer to home.

We tend to visit this location due to the DT location being busy with line-ups and to be honest we have better things to do with our time than to wait 20mins for a coffee and pastry. However, we do like Thierry and this location is bigger with better seating arrangement. That being said, quality control is a bit lacking at times. We have been when the coffee and pastries are phenomenal and other times when it feels like chewing on day old food. It won't stop us visiting because we like the area too.

Hands down the best macarons in Vancouver! Great choices of desserts and coffee! Also love their hot chocolate It can get quite busy after dinner but still my go-to.

SAD.where are the beignets? !? !? !? !? ! I missed them.they weren't even out for a month. Why do you do this Thierry? Why?

Beautiful location. Gets really busy on a Friday night just before closing at 9pm. Desserts and beverages did not disappoint. The washroom was impressive with touchless entry, heated Kohler seat and push button/pad exit. Pleasantly surprised with the self-serve still or sparkling on tap water available. Will be frequently visit this location!

No vegan pastry in 2023? Take some inspiration from "To live for bakery". The future is plant based.

Omg! The kayambe 72% drinking chocolate is actually insane and 100% worth the price tag. I live just a few blocks away and love that this new location is open till 9pm. If it was open until 10pm I would totally come. Their macarons may be the best I have ever had and I am honestly not so much a macaron person but you may just have a convert on your hands.

There are not too many places in the city that offer coffee and cake after 5pm. Certainly I can't think of any with this level of cakes. I would love to give it 5 stars but I think the cakes are not as good as they used to be. Don't get me wrong, they are still excellent but I remember that pre COVID they were even better and of wider variety

Thierry is good but the selection is very limited which is bad. Nothing new and exciting its always the same old cakes very rarely they change things up. The best thing on their menu is the beignets but its only on the menu for less than a month which is insane. The beignets are so popular and its the best item they sell they should have it all year round. Beignets are not a seasonal thing surely they can make doughnuts all year round.

Came here for the Spanish latte and the beignets while they’re available. It’s almost a yearly ritual as they’re only around for a month. Top notch as usual. The beignets are definitely smaller than they used to be, but just as tasty. The caramel sauce is a little runnier than before as well.
