Thrifty Foods

Emma from the florist department accommodated my request today and for my co-workers for Mothers Day, by suggesting and then individually and beautifully wrapping 40 Gerbera in 45 minutes! Absolutely amazing customer service. I cannot say enough about how gorgeous the flowers look, how excited I am to give them out, and the value was terrific. Allowing me to celebrate my coworker Moms in such a beautiful way! Thank you to the flower department and to Emma!

Thriftys is a great grocery store. Great meat counter. Seafood, in house bakery, flower shop, excellent deli and good produce. Prices are high, but prices are high everywhere!

Big shout-out to Archie at the Floral department this morning! My first time buying flowers, Archie was incredibly helpful and patient despite there being fewer flowers than usual. Thanks Archie!

Though there were staff bagging other shoppers items, my till didn't have someone to pack. The till to the one side had someone but wasn't actively bagging. My cashier just let all of my groceries bunch up because the conveyor belt was running at full speed. I asked if she was to be packing my things and the reply was NO. If we have more than three people in the line, you are to bag it yourself. I replied well the person bagging next over is just standing there and the people in the line just showed up. She grumbled and said she'd help me this time, as we both packed. Glad other staff can stand around and watch me do their work. Won't be back soon - prices are too high for me to have to pack too - I expect that at discount stores which this is not one.

Clean store.friendly staff available to assist you in all departments! Found my daughters favorite spinach perogies not all store carry. Also picked up the ready made butterball turkey less than other Stores on sale. Thr bakery has a lovely selection. Again, great service. We both had a. Jocokate covered desert! We traveled from Richmond and with the new highway changes ended up in the Tsawassen area instead. Too bad there isn't a location in Richmond. Will return for sure when in the area.

Thrifty Foods carries specialty items throughout the entire store in every department. They have a comprehensive bakery, a full meat department, a full and complete fresh seafood selection and they carry local produce. Their inventory is sourced from our country of Canada, particularly from BC and not from offshore foreign providers. Their entire staff has always been helpful and polite.

Safeway is dropping airmiles, so we re dropping safeway.

Thrifty Foods is currently an airmiles sponsor, hopefully it stays that way.

Bought a cake and they made out for me a chocolate piece with a happy birthday written on it last minute.

Come here for a change of shopping experience. Items can be pricier than other stores, variety is lacking, nice bakery department.

As a visitor to this store, I was surprised at how large and how heavily stocked it seemed to be. I had no trouble finding the items that I wanted and was intrigued by the subdued lighting over the aisles.

Nice store with different products not found in Superstore. Nice selection of British foods including sweets. Prices, however, are not sustainable for my budget! Oh, and their blueberry scones are not as good as they used to be pre-covid.

Great floral products, flowers really last a long time. Bakery products are fresh and good quality, some baked in store. Deli is also well stocked. Produce is good quality, but expensive. Lots of new staff. Aisles are narrow so store can easily feel crowded.

The produce is fresh and local where possible. Lots of unique products. Many organic and small batch offerings.

Not much thrifty about Thrifty Foods. They have a good seafood and deli section. Be prepared to pay top dollar.

Thrifty foods is a great little pit stop if you're going to boundary Bay. Clean washrooms in the front and decent to go sushi.

Terrific grocery store! A bit like Whole Foods but without the sky high prices and faux environmental posing. Excellent produce section, lots of organic choices available. Everywhere through out the store, organic, healthy options are beside the usual mainstream brands. Meat, fish and deli sections are all great as is the well stocked bakery. All it needs is a wine section and there would no reason to shop elsewhere!

Staff was friendly and helpful. I addition their meat section (Butcher) and quality of meat is excellent.

Great quality. Of course that comes with a price. Cashier lineups look long, but move along quickly.

Great prices. The deli pre made sandwiches and salads the have in the left of the store are fresh and delicious.

There are many people who are unaware that the very first organized discussions on nuclear disarmament were held in Pugwash in 1957.
When World War Two ended Bertrand Russell, Albert Einstein and several scientists published the Russell-Einstein Manifesto calling for nuclear disarmament. They wanted to hold a conference to debate these issues in a location free from scrutiny from any government. Finding funding for the conference with “no strings attached” was problem until Cyrus Eaton stepped forward. He agreed to fund the entire project with one condition: they must hold the conference at his house in Pugwash. In his honour, the attendees named the conference the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs.   The first “Peace” Conference was held in 1957 at what is now known as the “Thinkers' Lodge, ” before the conference met, Albert Einstein died. Illness kept Russell from ever attending a conference in Pugwash. The Pugwash Movement grew and is now held in cities throughout the world. However, important conferences are still held periodically at the “Lodge. ”
 
Mr. Eaton received the Lenin Peace Prize in 1960. In 1995, the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs and Dr. Joseph Rotblat, a conference founder, won the Nobel Peace Prize. He and Giovanni Brenciaglia, Mr. Eaton’s nephew and an active member in the Pugwash Conferences, accepted the prize.

Place was ok. Was really busy and long waits at all the tills. All were manned. They really need bag boys when its busy like rhat. Produce section always nice and fresh, unlike Save On!

I travel from Alberta and always stock up at Thriftys, wonderful accommodating staff and quality produce, meats and bakery. I have had great service at the service counter when required and never have been treated without respect in any department. Please come to Alberta, we need your quality.

Thrifty Foods is great just higher prices for exactly the same as Safeway but at least I can still get my air miles since Sobys closed the best Safeway in ladner! Sobys that's your biggest mistake ever.

The best.except it seems that we are slowly losing access to special products that used to make thriftys unique. The latest deletion is Uncle Ben's Spanish Style Rice. No problem though. Save On Foods to the rescue.

Still my favorite grocery store but is all this plastic necessary? Please get with the times Thrifty Foods.

Great place. Seafood is the best, bust sometimes not. Salmon sometimes is not cleaned properly. I had some bad prawns. (Twice), I got refunds no problem
