Thrifty Foods

This is usually my favourite place to shop, still has cashiers and no long lineups. Veggies are usually fresh and generally most things above average.

But today, it gets an F.

First, there's a sign that says buy one get one free for a particular spreadable cheese. But when I went through the check out, that deal wasn't honoured. Good thing I was paying attention, or it would have meant an $8.00 mistake at my expense, or the inconvenience of a trip back to the store.

Second, another sign for a choice of two items, buy two and get one free. Price on the cheaper item, about $9. No price on the other item. In with a slew of items priced between $8.to $10. I had to ask two people who worked there to finally get a price. The second person seemed to think it was just fine to have no price on the item and suggested that a store couldn't be expected to have prices on everything. To which my response is, "Does the management of a store really expect people to fill up their carts with no idea how much they are paying? "

Anyway the little hunk of cheese in with all the others $8.to $10.was $18.99.

The same thing happened with some candles. Not putting prices on items because the price us unreasonable, just makes people not trust.

Then, I wanted to buy some hummus and the Eugene's hummus was already a few days past its best before date.

I like how the dairy section has doors to save the electricity. It isn't blindingly bright either which is a relief. This branch has a pharmacy which is very convenient, and still has human cashier's which I also like.

Tragic they replaced the rewards system with scene points. Can you name a more gouge-y industry than cinema? Spend $1000, get $10 off. Unless you buy stuff you don't want for an extra $1 in points.

Staff are rude and they don’t pack your groceries, I have a job and it is not as a cashier! With the price of food these days the least you can do is pack my groceries.

Thrifty foods has a new loyalty card now that replaces Airmiles called Scene. It seems to work like the the Save on Foods More card as the prices on some specials on sale can only be discounted if you have a Scene card. It seems a bit unfair to shoppers who are loyal to Thriftys but do not want to use the card.

Great place to shop parking is tight but great selection! There are new self check outs, but i prefer the friendly staff. They have switched to the scene, and some stuff cost 2 dollars more if you're not a member. Do not like that at all i should not have to sell my data to get a discount!

Really good store with nice staff, but I wish there was a self checkout line available, or at least there'd be more checkouts, because lines are huge every time, especially at night before closing.

Dropped in to buy a drink. The store was busy with about 3 told open. I will avoid Thriftiest until they decide to hire enough tellers that people don't need to stand around for 15 minutes to get a drink! Poor Thrities, just poor! QUADRA location

A great selection of cheese, meats, Nd other things for building a great charcuterie board in their deli and produce sections!

This store is always dirty.they always have empty shelves and it feels really dingy. I try to go to any other thriftys.

Online shopping horrendous.dont often shop at any thrifties because of high prices, attitude towards customers, not helpful at all, wont give availability of product over the phone, they seem to want customers to come check in person, not good covid 19 policy.always get the impression I should feel privileged to shop there, and they only have paper bags.bad for the environment and covid 19 lingers on paper alot longer than plastic. Anyway i thought i would try online shopping maybe they would be good at that.i was wrong.not satisfied

Not too busy on a Sunday evening. Also, there is something comforting about a regular grocery store.

I love shopping here. The produce is great. Nice and fresh. And its not overcrowed or stressful to shop at.

It's an older grocery store but I find it is sometimes better than the newer ones. Subdued lighting in store. Even when busy, doesn't seem stressing. Nice layout in produce section. Aisles are well labelled. Overheard one clerk telling someone that they didn't have an item in stock and were referred to the nearest other grocery store. Nice to hear. Will definitely go back.

Good sized store, lots of parking.
Shelf resupply persons need lessons in manners.
The way they make the end of the isles pinch points is a star loss.

It's a perfectly serviceable grocery store. It's not my favourite (root cellar or red barn is a better local place) but it has decent brands.

I always enjoy the selection at Thrifty Foods: it's fresh and I trust it hasn't been re-dated to deceive or trick the buyer. I have had this problem at some other locally owned chains, but never with Thrifty's. It's best, however, to avoid the high traffic times unless you love long line ups!

I went to the store this morning to buy some groceries and picked up some pre-made salad. The cashier turned it over and noticed the bottom was brown and asked me if I still wanted it. I told her I did not, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact she took a look and didn't waste my money. We need more servers like this. Cheers to you young lady!

The personal shopper's attached to my hip at 1: 30am is a terriffic addition. Nothing says lovin when they wont stop staring at you. Security guard lady is very nice though

Thriftys is always very consistent at all locations with great selection, knowledgable staff, convenient locations and great customer service, gives customers confidence and belief in the the company, which for the most part offsets the slightly higher prices on items available.

A decent thrifty shopping experience open 24/7 which makes it the best one in town. However, it's just a grocery store. So not deserving of 5 stars.

It's 24 hours and they have a serious bike rack there it though the bike rack could be lit up brighter or at least motion sensor but other than that there's ample parking and friendly staff and it's 24h.

If I want vegetarian broccoli peanut butter ramen at 3 0'clock in the morning. They have you covered.

Love the store and that its 24 hours, but they should consider getting a new guy to wax the floors late nights, the older husky guy with black hair and glasses almost ran over my feet with his machine two times now! At first i passed it off as he wasn’t paying attention but clearly not,

I noticed a blatant attitude on the third encounter with him tonight and i always try to give him room to work too

Very good grocery store. Ive always found the staff to be helpful! The produce and flower assortments are always good. I like how Thirftys carries local produce when available! Staff have always been friendly. My only complaint is when you need help sometimes, its hard to find a staff member around. Kind of have to look for them sometimes.

Typical Thriftys store. I think they are all very similar? Clean and good selection and the staff is always helpful and friendly.
